did you figure it out that in YOLT connery never say "BOND, JAMES BOND"?
From Russia With Love is another such example.

I'd have to say From Russia With Love but it only just edged out Thunderball both great movies!
I agree.

I believe I originally voted for TB in the poll. It sat in the #1 slot on my list for a long, long time, but was recently surpassed by FRWL. I am here to confess and to ask if my vote can be slid over.

FRWL is my favorite Bond flick. Classic movie and Sean gives it his all, while still sinking into the Bond character(not quite as charming as he is in Goldfinger and Thunderball). An almost perfect film in general.
Thunderball is a great film. Beautiful girls and an awesome villain. Cool score and Sean still at his peak.
Goldfinger will always be considered a classic. It truly is. I just enjoy watching TB and FRWL more. Here is where I find Sean to be enjoying himself the most.
YOLT is a bit underrated in my eyes. The biggest downfall is Sean's performance. He was really lacking energy and looked so bored. This proves to me the longevity differences between him and Roger. This was Sean's fifth outing and he was already very tired and showed it. FYEO was Roger's fifth and he was still very energized. Still real classic Bond. AWESOME sets and a good score.
DAF can be a bit too over the top...hell, it is over the top. It is still very much energized. Sean looked a bit worn due to age, but still gave it his all and performed much better than he did with YOLT. A fun film.
Dr. No is pretty much at a tie with DAF. It is a great movie, but many of the classic Bond elements aren't there.
You Only Live Twice. It's the most fun. It's also the first Connery Bond picture I'd ever seen.
It is indeed a very fun ride.

Thanks man. This is certainly the best forum for Bond fans I have seen so far. It is always nice to be welcomed.
By the way, after watching Dr. No for the first time in a good while I loved it even more. While its not FRWL, it is a classic in every way. Not to mention, the new remastered picture kicks .

Thunderball would probably rank higher but there are some slow spots that weigh it down a little - namely the stealing and hiding of the atomic bombs - which in 1965 would have looked amazing in the cinema for the audience but now just drags. And the same goes for the underwater battle at the end. Groundbreaking at the time but now goes on just a little too long and is a little confusing too.
However, Thunderball has amazing locations, beautiful Bond girls, good villains, an amusing casino scene and a carnival.
YOLT and DAF are my bottom 2. DAF is silly, and YOLT has its grey and boring moments, and Connery looks like he can't be bothered. It does have some wonderful sets and cinematography however.

Is it me, or did Connery somehow age very quickly between FRWL and YOTL?
I'd say You Only Live Twice is where his age starts to become a bit more noticeable.

(The 60's was the perfect time for James Bond...You know, the kind of relationship between 007 with women, his behavior with them is part of Fleming's character...and the "politically correct" no longer allows some scenes as a slap in a face or the scene of the pool in DAF ...)

It's a great Bond movie but doesn't quite have the same plot, atmosphere and excitement of FRWL. It's a great example of Bond during his 1960s' heyday, and shows a team at the top of its game in every respect. Connery is great, and it's just before he got tired of the role, and Nassau looks beautiful, as does Domino. But I'd love to hear from those who rate Thunderball as their favourite 007 movie, because I want to know what makes it better than the rest, to them.
