So now I'm sick because I discuss elements of James Bond? Praytel, what is the purpose of this forum is not to discuss James Bond? Thanks for the 'nickname'.

Jim....Elektra....

Everyone has someone they have to hate in the Bond series. For Jim, it is Pierce. For MBE it is Denise. To each his own, nothing personal.

You are both right on planet Xenobia. Go in peace.

I found out the other day on the National Geographic channel that a "dork" is actually a term for a whale's penis. :)

Often people on this forum make comments that Lazenby was not adequate as an actor to be Bond. That he did not have enough acting experience etc..

Well, someone above mentioned that Denise Richards was a very good actress?

Let me put it like this then, if we are going to say that Denise Richards is a very good actress, then we absolutely must say that Lazenby is a better actor than Laurence Olivier, because that would be true if Richards is a very good actor.

Unreal how people could claim Lazenby was a bad actor, yet someone would say Richards was very good?

Denise Richards may very well be the worst actress in Hollywood.

Well if we're to take that comment to heart kevinrichardson, the CBn Forums will have to ban every negative comment about DAD and so on.

In defense of both Berry and Richards , they were established "actress" before DAD or TWINE. Thanks for the "nickname"

Seems to me the "adult" thing to do would be not too bother with this thread if it perturbs you too much. Oh, wait, that would be too logical....

You seem to be a very "witty woman". I had no prblems with Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones. She was the very different from Sophie Marceau

But it is strange that Denise Richards looks off-the-scales super hot in every movie she's ever been in, except TWINE. She looks okay...but she wasn't really directed or photographed in a sexy way. I think this is Apted's failing. He didn't seem to notice that he had a mega-sexy woman in his film, in the same way he didn't seem to notice that Bond had a cool-looking car (compare his introduction of the car scene to the one in DAD--the BMW never even makes it above the frame line!). He just didn't seem to care a lick about anything but the DRAMA.

I think the reason Michael Apted did not film her or photograph her in a sexy way is to deemphasize her looks since she's playing a standoffish, aloof nuclear scientist who has no interest in men. An attempt to make her more believable in the role. I would've done the same.

I hope that one day Denise will be seen as the good actress she is, very much the same way Jessica Lange rose above the ridicule she endured when she debuted in KING KONG.

i enjoyed Denise Richards in TWINE . Her overall screen time and performance is not as "bad" as people have made it. She is a very good actress have you ever seen "Wild Things".

Michael Apted most be a "total idiot" . why then have the woman , run around in a pair of "hot pants and tank top cut off at the belly" . with a tattoo and a navel ring???? Then spent the entire scene "attempting not to film her in a "sexy way".

Truth is, I liked Denise, as well. This thread was started partly to find out which actresses everyone thought would also have been good in the role. But mostly, to find out if Denise has any other supporters out there.

I'm glad there are. Give the girl something to work with and she'll deliver. Cut back her role and give her accomplishments in the movie to Bond, and she'll still deliver. It just won't be a great as it could have been.

Whoever ordered her character rewritten should be forced to clutch one of Renard's burning rocks until they cry like little sissies.

I agree that she should have been played by Denise Richards, but not because she was good. The part itself was so bad it's good they took Denise, because another actress would have made complete fool of herself. Denise already was.

It wasn't a bad part at all. It was just reduced. The original Christmas Jones role was much more substantial. But the producers wrongly felt that Bond was losing an edge. So all the important conclusions and things that Dr. Jones came to, they gave to him.

I respond with this everytime I hear someone bash the Christmas Jones role because they had a great character. But they weakened it. Bottom line: Denise did what she could with what she was left with. I'm pretty sure that things would be different if her role was not changed.

Sorry. Just feel I should clarify things.

Okay, heh, heh... BF007? Buddy? A word with you for a moment? It's hard for me to make a case for our Favorite Unjustifiably Maligned Bond Girl as a serious, effective, intelligent actress when you burst in, hormones raging, and pronounce her a -- what was it again? Oh, yeah... "a hot tamale."

Oh, who the ****** am I kidding. She is hot. She is very hot. In fact, as appropriate to her character, she is NUCLEAR MELTDOWN HOT!!!!! And my God how she fills that tank top out. What I wouldnt've give to have been the artist to apply that fake PEACE tattoo on her navel as part of her character every day on the set.

Who says a major hottie can't with breasteses out to here can't be a PHD-holder?

Sign me up for your society, BF007. Someone has to defend our girl.

KevR, you with us? :)
