Maybe

Spoiler

I think so - and I also think that would make far more sense, if they're rivals.

I could not be more certain that the voice that says " You came cross me so many times yet you never saw me" belongs to

Spoiler

I know it well enough at this point. Very exciting all around.

I'd entirely missed that. Thought it was Waltz. Good spot!

"A new trailer for SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond adventure, has been released today. A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz."

Yes, it would be more fitting. Even though I quite liked the call back to

Spoiler

"It was me, James. The author of all your pain". I don't see that as "I set all this up just to get back at you, Bond".

Rather, that 007 has been tackling SPECTRE all along - led by one who may or may not have a link to Bond from his past.

Me too. This whole process has really shown me how many nice ideas and touches often end up thrown away.

I think the Bond/Madeleine dining scene is another nice mirror to the Vesper train scene in CASINO ROYALE.

I still think it's Waltz....just taken from a different point in the film. Definitely Waltz's accent.

Did you see the name "Emma Pill" on the wall? More than a simple hommage to Diana Rigg.

The names on the wall are various members of the SPECTRE crew.

Looks more like the MI6 memorial wall. But the names Ronson and Silva should be on it, too.

Okay, maybe the explosion came before the could put Ronson on it - he should be one of the last names on the list, and it isn't there. But according to Dench-M, Silva should be on it, as the explosion was before she said that she'll have it removed.

Oh, wonderful nitpickery :D

An international organisation just to spoil Bond's life ? Come on...

That's not the plot haha! You're being a bit too literal  ;)

At 1:50, Bond walks through what an appears to be an abandoned (MI6) shooting range, with a target of Bond to the right of shot.

'The Spy Who Loved Me' / 'From Russia With Love' nods right there with Swann and Bond on the train, and what appears to be Hinx battling 007!

Really getting Mendes love of the older films with SPECTRE - From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service (WHO ELSE GOT GOOSEBUMPS WHEN THAT THEME PLAYED!?!?!?!), Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me all got shout outs in that trailer, not to mention the connections with Craig's other three.

Yeah - the fact that the same dubbing actor as Waltz speaks the line in the dubbed versions confirms it's Waltz.

But of course it's not a dubbing actor, but Waltz himself in the german version.

The Mexico scenes were surprisingly muted but they look like they will fit in the movie well.

Boggie would like Craig´s Bond, that´s for sure ;) Bacall would like Lea´s dress.

My thoughts exactly. A bit...yellowish, right?

Yes, the trailer looks and sounds fantastic. There are many great scenes, good ideas, it really is exciting.

But... the main reason for concern is still there, in my opinion. As I see it, as feared, motivation of Christoph Waltz's character has not been changed in the final script (I hope I'm wrong though).
