So for those of you who have read the script how close does the trailer match up to it?
Very well.

(is it just my impression or is Mr. White blind?)
Not certain but it could be. Might be an explanation as to why there are crows inside the cabin...

All I wonder, is how well protected were those old documents to survive one HELL of an explosion at Skyfall?!? I mean...Christ, the amount of fire and time left burning I find it hard anything survived!
And it's a shame nothing evident has been done to MI6 after nearly 3 years to get the building back to normal. British builders...
It's like MI6 is being left to decay...

I don't think it's been three years in film time. I estimate it has been a month, or possibly two, since the events of Skyfall. All I wonder, is how well protected were those old documents to survive one HELL of an explosion at Skyfall?!? Quite. Then again: I thought of it because of White's first line, but it seems I misheard it as "I always knew death would wear a familiar face, but what's yours?" Instead he says 'but not yours'.
Not criticizing Mr. Christensen's wonderful Danish accent here, probably just me for hearing what I wanted to hear. ;-)

Yeah I suppose it's not years thinking about it, if it's so close to recent events, I take that back.
Nice how Oberhauser addressed him as "James". I was expecting a Mister Bond at least....

After a several views I've warmed quite a bit to the teaser. The scene with Mr. White is killer - I don't think he's blind though, but certainly not well either.
Same here. It's not great, but it's not entirely awful. I guess I was just expecting a little more, and to be honest, I think they could have delivered a little more as well.

Absolutely love this trailer. Regarding the lack of action I dont mind one bit. It's mysterious, different and sets the heart racing. I'm sure there'll be an action teaser sometime in the next few months! The best is still to come! Cinemography looks beautiful as well. Totally was not expecting Waltz to show up!

This was the first teaser - I am sure the proper trailer will deliver the goods. I didn't care much of Skyfall teaser either but the trailer floored me.Same here. Also interesting: this trailer seems to have a title. Downloaded a large version from a Sony press site and the file name is "the-journey_trl-a_" and then some more letters and figures that tell something about language, size and quality.
So this one seems to be Trailer A "The Journey".
Posted 28 March 2015 - 01:28 PM
The Journey? I guess it relates to Bond visiting White?

I'm sure it will too, I just think they've should've threw something in there. I on the other hand like the Skyfall teaser, it did what the Spectre teaser didn't do.

But then 'Spectre' did what 'Skyfall' didn't do; be slow, moody and very sinister - this was clearly a tease of the organisation working in the background; not about Bond or the mission yet. This was just a tease that there is a big cog turning, and it's name is SPECTRE.
I'm sure when we get a trailer more mission orientated and explained what Bond must do, we will then get the action he uses to carry it out.

Still can't believe how good this looks.
Yeah, it looks slick. In fact, even though Skyfall is the clear winner at this stage, I think all of the Craig era Bond films have had great cinematography. SPECTRE continues the trend.

The film does have its moments. I loved how they treated Talamone, for example.

I might be wrong - but wasn´t the first SKYFALL teaser released when the actual shooting had wrapped already or was close to?
That might be a reason why they opted to go this route this time.

The DB10 entering the courtyard is very well done - one of my favourite shots of the trailer. Moody darkness being penetrated by the vehicle's blue headlights.

It was released in May, so really all the major sequences (Shanghai, Skyfall Lodge, Silva's escape, Public Enquiry) were shot. I believe Istanbul was being shot or at least close to done and the scenes for Silva's island remained.

"You're a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr. Bond" is, in my estimation, perhaps one of the best lines in a Bond movie thus far. Sinister, brooding, dangerous. Even a bit of compassion for poor little James playing in far too big a sandbox. Not to downplay Waltz's lines at all, as he is a dream come true as far as casting a Bond villain goes, which is proven in the few lines that he speaks here. And the new ring...
I hate that they're digging further into Bond's personal history, as I've never believed that should ever be the focal point of the films. However, all the other elements mentioned previously and what we've seen in this tease makes this an utter MUST SEE for Bond fans near and far.

Well well well. What a teaser that was!
No action in it, but so what? I'm happy to wait for that in the next trailer. This dark and broody trailer is exactly what I wanted. My favourite bit was at the end, when you hear the Bond theme being played on the xylophone, very creepy and atmospheric.
For those saying how great the cinematography is, I don't see it. Yes the shot of Bond on the boat going across the lake was nice, but it's hardly anything to get excited about. It's a pretty standard shot. I'm hoping for more from Hoytema in the finished film, I'm sure he won't disappoint. His work on Let the Right One in and Interstellar was excellent.
I'm very curious about this whole family connection thing. Another "personal" journey for Bond. I was hoping for less of this sort of stuff but I'm very curious to see how it all ties in with Spectre and Oberhauser.
And I must say, Craig is looking very young in this! That shot of his face just after White says his "kite in a hurricane" line reminds me of Craig circa CR.
All in all, very happy so far.

I think the lack of action may pay off greatly, because it's from the off shown us this is a film not an action blockbuster and as much as we love the action, if people have story implanted in their mind first, the excitement will be even stronger when we eventually see some action. They're feeding it to us slowly instead just rushing it. Giving us time to appreciate each aspect this film has. I'm just wondering how they're going to top it in the main trailer.

"You're a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr. Bond." Fairly ominous if I say so myself.
what does the line mean exactly........someone who don't go away?
What chance does a kite have against a hurricane? It's like a fly trying to swat a car.
Been reading without weighing in. I had a mixed reaction & was disappointed initially, after building it up. The murmurs were that it would be light on action, but I didn't expect it to be at zero. Has that ever been the case with a Bond trailer before?
That said, it continues to grow on me. I like the cinematography, esp. the opening shot, with the greenish hue from the sky. It almost looks like it was shot at "the magic hour" -- twilight, just before it gets dark and the sky casts a blue glow on things below -- but it could've been color-corrected etc. in post. With all the gray from the Austrian sky -- at least in the one scene -- it makes sense why the teaser poster had a gray background. Hope it won't be TOO gray throughout, though I doubt it will be.
It does look a LOT like "Skyfall". They are clearly trying to build on the success of SF with this teaser, even uttering the word out loud a mere 15 seconds in!
And I thought that was a Nehru in that still, too. There are jackets out there that aren't Nehru but have a similar collar and you CAN wear a tie with those. I don't know what the name for that kind of jacket is, though. They sure look to be setting up
