"You're a kite dancing in a hurricane, Mr. Bond." Fairly ominous if I say so myself.

what does the line mean exactly........someone who don't go away?

What chance does a kite have against a hurricane?  It's like a fly trying to swat a car.

Been reading without weighing in.  I had a mixed reaction & was disappointed initially, after building it up.  The murmurs were that it would be light on action, but I didn't expect it to be at zero.  Has that ever been the case with a Bond trailer before?

That said, it continues to grow on me.  I like the cinematography, esp. the opening shot, with the greenish hue from the sky.  It almost looks like it was shot at "the magic hour" -- twilight, just before it gets dark and the sky casts a blue glow on things below -- but it could've been color-corrected etc. in post.  With all the gray from the Austrian sky -- at least in the one scene -- it makes sense why the teaser poster had a gray background.  Hope it won't be TOO gray throughout, though I doubt it will be.

It does look a LOT like "Skyfall".  They are clearly trying to build on the success of SF with this teaser, even uttering the word out loud a mere 15 seconds in!

And I thought that was a Nehru in that still, too.  There are jackets out there that aren't Nehru but have a similar collar and you CAN wear a tie with those.  I don't know what the name for that kind of jacket is, though.  They sure look to be setting up

I don't know if Oberhauser is the neglected, jealous child or not, but I'm starting to think that SPECTRE is going to try to get Bond to join them.

I see this too. Very much a secret society perhaps extending an invitation. A way away out the service, a quiet exit.

Also, did anyone notice that the octopus on the SPECTRE ring only had 7 tentacles? Could that be a clue that Quantum has been killed off? Or am I ready too far into this?

I did notice that. Not sure what to make of it. They are supposed to have eight, but I guess seven will do haha.

I took a screencap of it and it certainly resembles the initial teaser poster a lot. Or rather vice versa. I love the re-design a lot.

Especially the middle tentacle.

A far more modern look if I do say so myself. Far more subtle too.

Agreed. That look worked for the 60s, but not now.

I'm sure there will be rings of SPECTRE rings once the film comes out.

That'd be a great ring to have and wear, or propose with!

Anybody notice the guardianship papers typo? "Resposibilities" for "responsibilities".

And why does that guy in the photo look like Liam Neeson? Or do my eyes need fixing? I'm sure I've seen him somewhere else before...

Hey, you never know. They've deliberately gone for seven instead of eight, so there could be a background story there.

I have to imagine it's just a design choice.

Perhaps. Though if Quantum was a sub-branch of SPECTRE, and has now been cut off, there could be something in it. Mr White sure looks keen to hide away from them. That side of the business could have been cleaned up, with White one of the few survivors left.

I agree that's probably what will have happened, but I do agree that the seven-legged octopus is likely to be an unexplained style choice!

Well, I'm currently out of town - but finally got some computer time and viewed the thing...

WOW! Pushed all the right buttons for me: Waltz, SPECTRE ring, Mr. White.

Was hoping for some Hinx, but I'll take it! Bring on November!

I still love the finale - the quiet music, the classic look of villains around a meeting table, Waltz's calm and chilling voice from the shadows and that music to accompany the 'SPECTRE' reveal; never has a Bond film felt quite so dangerous and threatening from just those few seconds.

Fully agreed!  And is it just me or is the music in that meeting-sequence reminiscent of the OHMSS-track, in which the "Do you know it´s Christmas"-melody is played by a bell, just like the Bond theme is played by a bell in this one?

On closer observation, those sounded more like chimes.

Absolutely, you´re right.  I was choosing the wrong word, being a non-native speaker.

All good :) The trailer music, especially the chimes sounded absolutely terrific, though I'm sure it wasn't scored by Newman

Interesting theory!

Just to bring to the table a factoid about octopus: in real life, a severed arm can grow back. But like 00s, octopus are short-lived!

Could not resist either sharing with you this medieval SPECTRE crest found in the margin of a manuscript (clearly the organisation goes way, way back ;))

Great find, MkB, love it! Clearly indication the Illuminati were just a front for more sinister entities. Or is it octities...?
