Has anyone else noticed that in both the look/cinematography of the film and the themes of the narrative shown, there seems to be a lot of symmetry on show? From the bullet hole in the poster/end of teaser, to specific shots:-

It does look like another beautiful and well produced film just from these shots. THAT'S why they don't need action to sell us on the might behind this.

Good eye there. Mendes certainly frames his shots very well. Hoytema's work is spectacular.

Slightly. We still haven't seen other footage, but I'd say that certainly colors (greys, blues, oranges) will be heavy like in Skyfall, but I also think this is going to be much more vibrant than Skyfall. Especially just on Mexico alone.

May is too soon, waaaaay too soon. We're already nearing April and just another month for the next trailer? At the earliest and slimmest, June, but my money is July, where it will be attached to Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.

I'm hopefully we might get another teaserish trailer in late May or early June. Messrs Wilson and Broccoli said they're already thinking about the next trailer, which I'd say is unlikely to be the full length theatrical one, given that we haven't had the bulk of Morocco or London filming yet.

Perhaps another teaser early summer and the main event in late August or early September. Maybe.

Except trailer 2 was an IMAX exclusive.

Quite fundamental question: Who is at the head of the table? Waltz? It doesn't look like his position from this picture… (note the door behind and chairs beside him - which is different from the top view we get in the trailer)

Good point...he does look like he's on the side, with the glass of water in the foreground seemingly almost opposite his.

I expect both sides of the room to mirror, and from one head of the table, there is certainly no door behind him or minders as there is with Oberhauser in the above pic.



So...this indicates Oberhauser is NOT leading the meeting I expect....? Could this be a very bold and obvious clue he's not who we were led to think he is??

I agree with Ace. The main theatrical trailer will launch in July most likely. I do think we'll get a total of three. If there happens to be an IMAX exclusive, my money would be for it to land in June. However, what would it attach to? Jurassic World maybe?

I think that's correct. There a large set of doors behind Oberhauser that don't appear on the overhead shot.

Agreed with you both. He's leading the meeting but not immediately visible there.

The shot of the funeral with the cross in the background is a gem. Remind me of a Salvador Dali painting. And to think that location was a last minute fill in!

Sometimes forced improvisation results in some inspired choices. The scene does look great, doesn't it? Very stark and eerie.

Something about the black attire of the funeral goers (clearly Mafioso types) vs. the white travertine colonnade--a piece of fascist architecture--plus the wide angle framing. Reminds me of THE CONFORMIST.

If I remember correctly, the teaser for Skyfall was in April, the IMAX trailer was in June, and the full trailer was in August. Do I have that right?

 

If I also remember it correctly, there were international and US trailers for the "full" trailers, so do we not have 4 total trailers for Skyfall?

 

Oh who cares, it will be an eternity until November however they're released.

 

Does it also not seem like we're getting way more access into the filming this time than with Skyfall? The only fan made, behind the scenes I remember for Skyfall was Craig running through London into Whitehall, the helicopter flying at Skyfall lodge and Silva in his police uniform. That was really it, right? Already we're getting the plane crash in Austria, the gun fight in Austria, a huge part of the opening sequence (including Craig's double), and the car chase through Rome. I need to be saved from myself!

I think the SKYFALL teaser was in late April, though could be wrong. IMAX was in July tied to TDKR. Wish that was properly released--it was definitely the best of the trailers.

No, it's the same meeting. Waltz is at the head of the table, but not visible from overhead. The person at the other end of the table, if not Waltz, is likely a random extra.

No, it's the same meeting. Waltz is at the head of the table, but not visible from overhead. The person at the other end of the table, if not Waltz, is likely a random extra.

 

Bingo! It's just another member of SPECTRE. Looking at the screencap though it certainly isn't Waltz and the background behind that person doesn't match the official photo released of Waltz either. Waltz is on the opposite side of that person. Done deal.

The teaser clearly indicates that Waltz is Ernst Stavro Blofeld. So that's what they want us to believe, for now.
