And she's on her way to... (no, better not).
Yes, it does look that way, doesn't it!

I assume the DW-TARDIS won't be a regular part of the titles?
I have mixed feelings about that really. I think it should be used, 'cause it's so unbelievably simple and cool, but on the other hand. I can't imagine it.

Yeah, I mean, I reckon it's just a marketing thing, but if they used it for the title sequence, it would be cool, but at the same time...there are some apprehensions.

I assume it would be. And why not...? If the character shifts in time, so should the presentation of the show. It doesn't really matter in the long run anyway.I assume the DW-TARDIS won't be a regular part of the titles?

Yeah.
And now for more spoilers-ish
Judging from all of the pics and filming vids out there atm, the season premier is going to be great.

I agree. I could very easily envisage the DW logo being used at the end of the end credits to good effect, but I wouldn't expect it in the opening titles.I assume it would be. And why not...? Nice logo all together! Very much an echo of the 60s / early 70s.
With the new old TARDIS it's certain that Moffat's DW is going to go closer to the source... whether this will be a success I'm not sure, but if the ratings can hold after the Cult of Tennant then I guess DW is here to stay.
Actually the logo I think signifies an interesting colour tone shift for the series. The previous logo, like the opening credits, was very red / orange and if you look at all of BBC's marketing (especially on their website) uses a red spectrum; red equals danger, adventure, etc.
But the new logo, with some of the early publicity pictures we've seen so far, is very blue, black, silver all of which equals mystery and intrigue... Interesting...

On a sad note, Barry Letts, who produced Doctor Who during the 1970s (and later produced the Timothy Dalton version of Jane Eyre) died today.

Part of me would like them to get rid of the title sequence and just have that animation on the website showing the new Logo as a title card.I expect the title sequence will show the police box merging into the DW logo, which will then transform into the Doctor Who logo, or some such nonsense.

Sad to hear about the passing of Barry Letts, he was fantastic producer and will be missed.

Sad news, indeed. He was, by far, my favourite producer of classic Who.

Well, that explains why he needs a new one!Spoiler
As for Smith's injury, the set can be a dangerous place at times. Nothing to be ashamed of at all. These things happen to everyone now and then. Well done to him in the fact he got straight back into filming after the event.

I thought his casting of Timothy Dalton as Rochester was inspired. Dalton is still my favourite Rochester.

Over the weekend I was told from a fairly good source that word from the DOCTOR WHO set is that Matt Smith is hot amazing in the role and could well upstage Mr Tennent quite quickly.
Can't say more (well, I could).
I have heard exactly the same thing from a very reliable source on the set. Nailed it from Day 1 apparently...

I don't. I think he will be brilliant, don't get me wrong, but to me, Tennant IS The Doctor and no one can top him. Saying that though, I said the same about Brosnan. So who knows, he may be the best of them all, but my gut feeling says Tennant cannot be topped.

I could say more, but cannot. Though I will say you are not the first to pick up on that...Also helps that he has the man who has written what I think were some of the best episodes of the new series as showrunner.

I've never much liked Tennant's characterisation. He was good in the Paul Cornell two-parter, though. And my gut says Tennant was topped before Tennant even came into the role.
The Matt Smith series looks to me like it could be going back to something more akin to the Innes Lloyd-produced Troughton episodes. Which would be no bad thing.
