So Sam Smith is actually on a concert tour right now, and a friend of mine is seeing his show in Mexico City. He apparently started to say he was going to sing a song that hadn't been heard before but then he backed off. So it's possible that one of his upcoming concerts will feature his first live performance of Writing's On The Wall.

Mexico City seems like an appropriate place for the inaugural live performance of the song.

I am more nervous about hearing Sam Smith's Bond song than I have been about any one in the last 13 years or so!
Whilst Madonna, Chris Cornell, Alicia Keys/Jack White and Adele are all established artists, Sam Smith falls into the category "immediate success". He is loved by many, but also hated by many. Most people I know can't stand him.
Come on Sam, please be good!

Looking forward to the instrumental version for sure - recent themes have had really good production, regardless of singers.
Even 'AWTD' had a decent instrumental, especially the guitar section.

I expect the melody and the arrangement to be very plesant. I´m only nervous about his voice. Please not too much falsetto...

I also expect the melody to be a winner. It will come down to his voice, and the lyrics.

Sounds great. Actually reminds me of TWINE theme opening, as well as Thunderball.

Sure, but it was nowhere near as impressive as this.
TBH, I haven't been this blown away by a snippet of a Bond theme since YKMN leaked. For fifteen seconds it's got everything: danger, pathos, romance etc.

That's true. I know it's typical PR talk, but perhaps Michael and Barbara's "will surely be considered one of the greatest Bond songs of all time" comment may not be all that hyperbolic.
And for what it's worth, I rate both YKMN and SF as Bond songs. Especially YKMN.

Well, when you say it every time, it's bound to be right at least some of the time...

Bummer - I thought on the 25th the song would be available for download, too. Now iTunes Germany says: 28th!

Yeah - I think the way this will go is that the US digital stores will have it tomorrow, and the rest of the world on Monday. Obviously on radio and on Smith's YouTube/007.com tomorrow.

It's on Youtube.
Well an intrstumental version anyway. I THINK.
HOLY MY GOD. WHAT OH MY GOD. WHAT. IS. HAPPENING.
The person who posted this seems to knock together unofficial bits of music for films he likes.
It's not genuinely from Spectre. A bit like fan fiction.

Oh great. Found out it's a fake. Well THAT's a bit of a dissapointment. I would've been fine with that!

Should have placed some money on something like this to happen. It always does. Almost certain that we get at least one more.

Not too sore about the download point given the major digital stores outside the US which have the song for pre-order (iTunes, Google Play) have release date as Monday. Maybe in the U.S.......

2:45am my time. That's well past my bedtime. I'll catch it later on, then. Sam Smith isn't worth losing a good night's sleep.
1:45am here. It just had to be on that borderline of I'll stay up for it/I'll catch it tomorrow...
