Yea, I messed that one up. Read the edited version.
Understood
Sensible reaction!
I can't tell if they just rehashed Mark Hamill's line from ROTJ or if he actually re-recorded it for the trailer...it's damn good if he did!
I just popped in my Episode VI blu-Ray and compared the two... it's the same recording in my mind, just polished up and maybe even slowed down.

I did not expect it to be released so soon - so when I logged on this morning... wow!
Fantastic second teaser.
They really seem to have honored the original trilogy while moving forward.
CanĀ“t wait to see this movie.

I thought the line by Luke sounded new, but obviously a repeat of his famous line in 'ROTJ'.
Maybe he says this to a new Apprentice or something...harkening back to the old trilogy but starting a new one?
But the only reason it may be old (which would be odd to include) as he says "My father HAS it".
Has it? Anakin is dead....isn't he...?
Now enough debate...need to watch it again.

After 20+ viewings of the trailer, I'm now convinced it is a new recording of Luke's line..most likely specifically recorded ONLY for the trailer and am not expecting it to be in the actual fillm..But it works for the trailer..the context of "My father HAS it"..works with the shot of Vader's mask, "I have it"...Luke touching R2 and "My sister has it.." Leia (??) receiving Luke's old lightsaber..(I can't wait for the explanation for how the hell it survived Cloud City..)

He IS a Force ghost now, Luke can still communicate with him!But the only reason it may be old (which would be odd to include) as he says "My father HAS it".

Mark Hamill just said that he re-recorded those lines for the trailer last week. The new version was added to the Return of the Jedi version as an echo.

Looks good and it looks like they have gone back deliberately to the old style of proper stunts and real stuntmen rather than rely on CGI.
Looks like fun!

Seeing real Stormtroopers made everything ok again.
NOW what do we think about the 'Rogue One' news? Bringing the WARS back to Star Wars:

Difficult to know, really. The teaser was good.

I'm really hoping for a Star Wars: Rogue One 2 that shows them stealing the second Death Star plans... then we can see how valiantly the many Bothans fought before dying to bring us the information

It'd be especially interesting to find out what happened to their leader, Ian Bothan.

I have to admit, I'm excited about Star Wars again. The new Episode 7 trailer was a bunch of fun, and I like the premise for the stand alone film Rogue One. The classic trilogy was always my thing, and they're retaining that vibe and aesthetic while moving forward with new characters. And, the Battlefront videogame looks and sounds fantastic as well. Just release the unaltered trilogy on Blu-ray and I'll be an even happier camper.

Haha! I had a similar thought this weekend - couldn't locate my 2006 DVDs with the theatrical releases included, so I had to order new copies... from North Dakota!

There must be a pretty good chance of the originals coming out, now that Lucas is out of the picture.

If I remember correctly, 20th Century Fox still has a stake in the home releases of the original film. Disney may have to work that out before a proper release.

Yeah, Fox owns the distribution rights to Star Wars (1977) forever. But they worked with Disney to release the films on digital download a few weeks ago. So there's possibly an agreement in place already.

Only problem is that Star Wars (1977) was not included in that release - Star Wars (1997) was

Well, technically, it's Star Wars (2011)!
This is amazingly good. Mike Verta's Star Wars - Legacy Edition 4K Restoration: https://vimeo.com/ch.../starwarslegacy
They should hire him to work on an official release.

I really hope so. The original unaltered trilogy would be a day one buy.

Good thing I've held on to my VHS tapes from the early 90's promotion that said "This is your last chance to own the originals!" And my new 2006 DVD copies should be here tomorrow, with the theatrical releases as bonus features - granted, they were pulled from the 90's Laserdisc release but still... I'll soon be able to see the classics again!Unfortunately, I'm positive that will forever remain a dream.

Disney are in the business of making money. They'll put them out sooner or later.

I guess I'm in the minority for not being enthralled by the new trailer.

I'm with you Ace. I wasn't impressed by the latest teaser either. In fact, I liked the first one better.
