Already going to the IMAX Midnight showing for it. The last trailer and this extended look have already sold me on how epic this is going to be.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

A+

I absolutely loved this superhero movie. In my opinion, it's my all time favorite superhero movie and my favorite Marvel movie ever made. Why is it so good? I loved it for a lot of different reasons. It's fun. It has a lot of humor in this movie. One part it shows Steve Rogers pulling out a small book of all the things he has missed since he has been frozen. On the list includes Star Wars and Star Trek, Nirvana and more. I thought that was kind of funny. The movie is about Steve Rogers and the aftermath of the attack in New York. He has settled down and he meets Samuel Wilson aka the Falcon. They strike a friendship. Nick Fury is attacked by someone called the Winter Soldier. He is badly injured and the movie is mostly about this attack but also about finding out that Shield isn't all that it seems. That's really all I want to say without spoiling anything.

I loved Robert Redford's character in this movie. It's refreshing seeing him on screen again. He plays Alexander Pierce, a member of Shield. Also Emily Van Camp is in this movie starring as Agent 13. Her role is rather minimal but if you know anything about the comics regarding Captain America, she has a huge role to fill.

Overall this is a great movie and I loved it. Everyone should go and see this at least once.

Takedown: The DNA Of GSP - 4/5 - Directed by Peter Svatek and Kristian Manchester - Starring Georges St-Pierre

Takedown: The DNA Of GSP is a sports documentary that focuses not so much on the sport of mixed martial arts, but rather on one individual instead. The former two time UFC Welterweight Champion of the world, Georges "Rush" St-Pierre.

If anything, Takedown is a biography, stemming from his upbringing in Montreal and his early days in Montreal from Karate and Jiu Jitsu, to training for a career in mixed martial arts competition. We see his rise through the ranks to becoming the champion, only to lose it, then to climb back up and take it back and hold it their until vacating it recently in favor of a semi-retirement.

While it sounds like a by the books documentary, it focuses more so on his weird (sorry GSP, It's weird haha) OCD habits and his ACL injury and having to face the obstacles of returning to a sport after being away with a near career ending injury and wondering if you will ever be the same, along with the heated rivalry with Nick Diaz. It's a very interesting and insightful documentary on Georges as it takes you into his world and shows that mixed martial arts is more than just cage fighting.

Georges St-Pierre is one of my favorite fighters and with his recent semi-retirement or sabbatical, it made me appreciate him even more. He's done a lot for this sport and has built a great legacy for himself and paved the way for others coming into the sport. You can say Fedor Emelianenko, Anderson Silva, or even Muhammad Ali are the greatest of all time when it comes to fighting, but for me, Georges St-Pierre is the greatest of all time and is the greatest fighter to grace the UFC Octagon. A great watch if you are into mixed martial arts or a fan of GSP.

I read the book because I heard Fincher was directing but it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm hoping the film will be better.

The Script is being written by the author, who's completely changing the ending, and probably more under Fincher's guidance. I have faith that it will be great.

The Poster is very minimal, but effective. It's great, like all of Fincher's other films.

As for Jobs, I'd love to see his take on the character, but I feel he has unfinished business elsewhere.

That is really exciting that they have the author on board and a change to the ending certainly freshen things up.

My faith in them making The Girl Who Played With Fire has been renewed since I heard they have commissioned someone to finished the fourth book.

I know the script was being rewritten by Andrew Kevin Walker, who penned Seven, and that Rooney Mara had signed on for the final two films.

Stieg Larsson's estate commissioned someone to finish his fourth book, It's supposed to be out in early 2015 from what I heard, so maybe that can propel Sony to resume track on the second film. I can see them however doing it without Fincher if he goes forth with his Aaron Sorkin Steve Jobs film. The only issue is trying to find a director who can fill those footsteps.

Yeah I really enjoyed the American version of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. That was my favorite book out of the trilogy that may not be a trilogy anymore if a fourth book is coming out? I just really enjoy Rooney Mara. She completely dedicated herself to that role and I think that's how you know someone is a really good actress. Someone who is dedicated to a character and will try and make it seem as real as possible.

I just wish it wasn't all about money in the film industry. I mean just because the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo didn't make billions of dollars at the box office doesn't mean that they shouldn't continue on in the franchise. Rooney Mara is excellent as I have said above and Daniel Craig to me, is perfect for the role of Blomkvist.

Makes sense, given that The Expendables franchise, in addition to The Fast and the Furious franchise have branched out into the world of MMA and boxing to bring Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey, and Victor Ortiz to the big screen.  If anything, this makes more sense than Rousey's involvement in The Expendables 3, as Hogan fits more easily into the whole aging action hero thing the franchise is known for.

Yeah, and there is so much "older" blood out there, I think if they prove they can top the second film, as that did with the first, then a 4th one is something to excited for and not tarnish.

So far, all so good and great developments. Looking forward to more marketing soon for 'The Expendables 3', shouldn't be too long.

The two of them had impeccable chemistry together. I would love to see it expanded upon.

As for Expendables, that franchise along with Fast And Furious have done nothing to transition to combat sports. Just because there are fight scenes and actors that have combat sports in their background, that does nothing to shift the film whatsoever. I don't like the idea of Hulk Hogan in the fourth, simply because he never established himself as an action hero and his film were slightly along the lines of a B Movie and below. Hard for me to see the third film or get hyped since Ronda Rousey is one of the most arrogant and disgusting persons in the world of combat sports.

I do like the new title for the third Hobbit film though and I'm glad Paramount is seeking another title for the fifth Terminator. Genesis just sounded cliche and awful. As for Arnie, he needs this fifth Terminator film to be a box office hit. The Last Stand opened up less than enthused and underperformed, Escape Plan was dull and underperformed at the domestic box office, and Sabotage was just pure garbage.

If there's one thing Arnie will never doubt, is his pulling power with the word 'Terminator' next to his name. I just hope it's something so worthy and not a CG blink and miss it moment like 'Terminator Salvation' or the screentime he had in 'The Expendables 2' as it just wasn't enough.

He has proved he can do big action films now, so let him loose as T-800 once more PLEASE.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 3/5 - 2014 - Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo - starring Chris Evans

I'm not the biggest fan of Marvel Studios. I haven't liked one of their films since the first Iron Man film in 2008, everything after that was just garbage for me. I won't say my interest is renewed in them, but Captain America: The Winter Soldier, for me, is their best in a long time.

Taking place after the events in New York (The Avengers), Steve Rogers, or Captain America, has been tasked with the mission of rescuing hostages on board a S.H.I.E.L.D. ship taken over by Batroc (Georges St-Pierre), Natasha Romanoff, Black Widow, (Scarlett Johansson) gathers some valuable information. This information is highly important and nearly costs the life of Nick Fury. With attacks happening, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been compromised and highly trained assassin by the name of The Winter Soldier is on a mission to take out Steve, and anyone else and gather the information.

I didn't like the first Captain America film, I thought it was a joke, honestly I did, just like I did with every Marvel Studios film that was not the original Iron Man. However, The Winter Soldier is a decent comic book, superhero film, during these tired times from the superhero craze. The first half of the film I absolutely loved. It had humor when it was warranted, but most importantly it didn't feel like an action film. It felt more espionage like with S.H.I.E.L.D. being compromised and dark secrets of it's past leaking out. It was great. The action was minimized, but entertaining.

The second half was where it fell apart for me. The inclusion of HYDRA returning but this evil group within S.H.I.E.L.D. just fell weak, forced, and un-warrented, and Robert Redford, when his character showed his true characters, just felt like any other higher up bad guy in a suit, and the title villain, The Winter Soldier, felt misused to me. The action than become much faster and faster, containing more than the previous action scene did with more explosions and CGI. It went from an Espionage, superhero film, to another superhero film.

The writing isn't too bad itself, it's definitely much better than the first film, and the humor was used perfectly and not in the wrong instances. The action in the beginning was suspenseful, and some emotional moments were kind of compelling. Good writing all around. The Russo Brothers do a good job in the beginning by making it almost thriller-esque with scenes that make you think about the freedom of others and if you can trust your government. Though they then headed into Bay territory, but I was more impressed with their job on handling such a big character than Joe Johnston did with the first film.

I did like acting too, and I am starting to like Chris Evans as Captain America, and I think he more likeable than Robert Downey Jr. playing himself playing Tony Stark. Evans is strong willed, full of charisma, and just flows great with other on screen. Scarlett Johansson, aside from her hair, was good too, though I would've preferred more action her. I think Robert Redford was good, but he just felt like any other business-y type of character and I think his role is easily forgettable. Same with Samuel L. Jackson, whom I have never been able to click with as Nick Fury.

If I see a Marvel film, it's usually the one(s) they don't produce, such as The X-Men films, which I like. Their self produced films on the other hand I don't care for. I would've given this a lower rating had I not of really really liked the first half. It's strange walking out of the theater feeling somewhat different than I have with some previous Marvel Studios films, but Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a decent superhero film, and though it has some faults, it is still enjoyable for the most part.
