hopefully the original cast character will be the one that is feature......not the cast just the character.......I guess they can bring Tommy back no need for a recast......

Oh no, not more of 'The Flintstones'....!
I even hear Chris Hemsworth has been offered the lead in the muted 'Lethal Weapon' reboot.

Is this REALLY the era of reboots and re-makes? So sad....

Really? A Lethal Weapon reboot. From reading the article, it sounds like this project will be terrible.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 5/5 - 2014 - Directed by Bryan Singer - Starring Hugh Jackman
Thank you, Bryan Singer. Thank you for giving me the X-Men film I have been waiting forever for. Thank you for restoring my hope in summer blockbusters. Thank you for taking me on one hell of a ride. Ladies and Gentlemen, X-Men: Days Of Future Past is one hell of a film, and is a triumph. I have stuck by Fox's X-Men for so long, and it was worth it. Can't wait to see this again!
Days Of Future Past reminds me why I love these characters so much. It's filled with action, packed with spectacle, carrying emotions at an all time high, and is compelling. This is an example of a comic book film and a summer blockbuster done right. It had everything to lose, but it had a punch it propelled the film to greater lengths than we have seen with any other X-Men film.
The story arc of Days Of Future Past is an interesting and excellent one, and everyone pulled it off. The story was engaging and thrilling. The characters were more interesting than ever and you genuinely cared for them. You never feel bored, because you are so attached to each character good or bad. The acting was fantastic and each actor portrayed their respective X-Men character to a T. Hugh Jackman takes top billing, but shares the screen with everyone else and lets them shine. Loved Blink, Beast, Bishop, and Quicksiler, and Michael Fassbender killed it as Young Magneto. Oh and the post credits scene was amazing!
I have nothing to say, other than good things for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. I had modest expectations and was blown away by literally everything. This is a comic film done the right way. It said "F*** You" to most of X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It took fourteen long years for this film, from seeing the first one as a child in the theater, to an adult seeing this one, this wait was worth it. Thank you for the ride, Bryan Singer. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is the summer film to see.
Bring on the Apocalypse, May 26th, 2016!
Godzilla - 2.5/5 - 2014 - Directed by Gareth Edwards - staring Aaron Taylor-Johnson
When this was first announced I was happy and concerned. Happy that America may finally be getting the Godzilla film we all deserve and concerned that it may be disappointing. Sadly, Gareth Edwards' Godzilla is both.
It's pretty sad when the 1998 film has more of the titular monster than this film does. The overall story is pretty interesting for the most and is certainly engaging, as
I never felt bored during the two hours. The problems it has though outweigh the few positives. The positives, the CGI, is actually pretty damn good, despite most of the monster scenes at night, it all looks very well done and the final look of Godzilla is engrossing. Bryan Cranston, with literally 30 minutes was outstanding, and killing him off was a major mistake. He brought a certain quality to the film that made it seem real. The monsters, because Godzilla fighting the US Military is so overdone, kicking other creatures' ass is more fun.
The Negatives, the acting aside from Cranston was just dull. No one ever really conveyed their characters emotions. Oh and the characters are flat, two dimensional and have little to no development and all portray the typical characters. Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the Soldier looking to get back to his family, Elizabeth Olson as the worried wife, Ken Wantanabe as the Scientist that is vague but know everything that is going on. You never feel connected to these people, and frankly could care if they live or die.
The biggest negative is the fact they chose to unveil Godzilla one hour in the film. While the hype leading up was something else, hearing that epic roar was unbelievable, but cutting away to news footage of his fight with the MUTO was a slap in the face. Oh and following the MUTO's more than Godzilla was an even bigger slap in the face. I paid $12.50 to Godzilla, the king of monsters destroy things and wreck havoc, not see the Navy follow him around as he goes for his daily swim across the Pacific Ocean.
I get that by having more Godzilla than Humans people will complain, as they will if you have more Humans than Godzilla, so you instead balance everything out, but in the end something got lost and the films focus is instead on the humans and MUTO's. The climax of the film in San Francisco, starting with that breathtaking Halo jump to the Godzilla vs. MUTO finale was incredible. That whole sequence was done so well and saved me from hating this film like the 1998 film. The score by Alexandre Desplat was also incredible, and lived up to my expectations.
Godzilla isn't a bad film, it has everything going for it, but the cons are too many to even looks past it. Enjoyable for the most part, I found myself when I got home enjoying another viewing of Pacific Rim than this and that says much. Maybe this film will grow on me, but until then save the money.

Eva Green causes a controversy with her Sin City A Dame To Kill For Movie
http://insidemovies....-city-2-poster/
Posted 30 May 2014 - 07:30 AM
That IS a very worthy Sin City poster though, taking away the overt eroticism of it. It's great.
Should have been a character poster for Vesper Lynd...!
Posted 30 May 2014 - 02:13 PM
I mean I understand why they consider it "racy" but it's just breasts.. I mean c'mon now.
Posted 30 May 2014 - 02:30 PM
They may be extra sensitive now after the LA shooting. And of course, this poster does glamorize and sexualize violence by depicting an attractive scantily clad woman with a gun.
But IMO the real problem is a society in which someone (almost always a young man) cannot differentiate between make believe and reality.
A film like "Sin City" definitely panders to some basic instincts - but it remains fiction. To blame fiction for a society whose way of life scars young men all by itself is just a cop-out.
And... oh, boy, I´m having soap-box fever, sorry... what is this whole "nipple"-panic in US media right now?
On this poster you really do not see anything. Eva Green is clothed. But if you stare long enough you might see a nipple underneath the blouse. SHOCK. A woman´s breast has a nipple?
I must say I agree with Rumer Willis who protested against Instagram´s policy to erase photos on which one can see women´s nipples - but it had no problem showing exploited women´s bodies (as long as nipples were covered).
What is so problematic about that part of the female breast? It´s natural. It´s needed. It´s... and this is only a tribute to all the religious people... God given. So why is this something nobody is allowed to see (although everybody who has a mirror knows it´s there)?
(Men´s nipples don´t seem to be a problem, by the way. Why is that?)

The reaction to the poster has been a joke. Nothing is visible. If anything, the outrage (if there needs to be any) should be over the glamorization of violence, not over what Eva is wearing.
Posted 31 May 2014 - 03:20 PM
I agree with what everyone said. I don't get why nipples are a big deal. I mean I understand that if you don't want to show your breasts off, that's great. If you want to though, great! I think that breasts are beautiful and I think if you want to show them off, be my guest. Plus Eva isn't even showing anything. Yeah it's pretty clear she isn't wearing a bra, but c'mon. This is the Sin City franchise. I don't know this whole thing really bugs me.

Edward Snowden NSA whistleblowing story to be filmed by Oliver StoneDirector of Platoon and JFK will direct a big budget adaptation of Guardian journalist Luke Harding's book about Snowden's role in exposing the NSA's surveillance culture
That pretty much takes care of whatever tiny bit of interest I had in the now two Edward Snowden films (EON/Sony's and Stone's). Stone's recent output has been very subpar, to say the least, and his last "recent history" film, W., was just abysmal.
Posted 03 June 2014 - 04:37 AM
Is the Stone movie not the EON project? I couldn´t find enough info about it other than it would be a European co-production (which could mean it is the EON project)?
If not it might take the steam off EON´s plans with this one. Which I would not regret.
Posted 03 June 2014 - 04:41 AM
Conceived as a European co-production, the film is due to start shooting before the end of 2014. But time is of the essence. Stone's film looks set to face competition from No Place to Hide, a rival project adapted from the book by Glenn Greenwald and overseen by James Bond producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

Looks good, better than I was expecting, actually. Great to see Mel Gibson back in action.
Also, I don't recall seeing this before, but IMDb has Robert Davi listed as part of the cast.

I agree tdalton - the calibre of the cast looks the best yet. Just a pity we couldn't have Van Damme and Norris once more BUT I like how this is shaping up.
And Robert Davi? Really? Well that's brilliant - such a great actor to play a villain hopefully. Glad he's in it!
UPDATE: Just found a little interview with Davi about the role:
"I have known Sly for many, many years now. My 12 year old son is a huge “Expendables” fan. He just loves those films. This was a film I had to be in! (Laughs) In the film I play the character of Goran Vogner who is head of the Albanian Mafia. That is a great group to be a part of."
http://www.manlymovi...endables-3.html
And the Expendables Wiki lists Vogner as:
"Goran Vogner is the secondary antagonist of The Expendables 3, he is the head of the Albanian Mafia helping Conrad Stonebanks on his plans to take down The Expendables."

More rumors have surfaced that suggest Matt Damon is indeed returning for the next BOURNE film

Well, well, well.. but the downside to this is that Bourne 5 has been pushed (again) to 2016..blech! I'd by all means welcome Matt Damon back (and do hope that Jeremy Renner would return as well).. I would also hope that somehow Paul Greengrass could be persuaded to comeback, since Matt is apparently willing to return..
It's almost like Jeremy Renner is George Lazenby and Matt Damon is Sean Connery returning to Diamonds Are Forever after so many people were disappointed with On Her Majesty's Secret Service...
