Sadly, it looks like we're going to have to wait until 2019 for that.

I know... I need Affleck to take the bad Christian Bale taste out of my mouth, but on his own. No "sans underwear" Superman...After thinking about it awhile, I might be skipping this... I just want another solo Batman film...

Hopefully they'll be able to get Affleck in the director's chair for The Batman as well. That's my biggest hope for the character moving forward, as it at least seems as though it's in good hands with Affleck. Hopefully (and this is a big question mark) Snyder doesn't ruin it in spite of Affleck.
Can't agree on Superman, though. As bad as Man of Steel and Cavill's take on Superman is, I thought ditching the red undies was a wise decision. Perhaps the only good decision Snyder made with the film.

Still on the fence about this.. I thought Man Of Steel was VASTLY overrated and have pretty low expectations for this.. Plus the whole concept of Bats vs Supes, good guy vs good guy just insults me..
But That's part of the fun of comics: good guys fighting eachother...it would be boring if they were all pals, no? Avengers had two great hero vs hero fights... I have to think Supes would hold back against a human even with a Krytonite-Ironman suit...but he does look pissed!
Trailor looks good. Too bad it came out the day after that pretty great Star Wars trailor.

He just doesn't look like Superman to me without them. That's like Robin not wearing green tighty whities in my book! He looks really weird with no red briefs...Can't agree on Superman, though. Now I like them. They are pretty cool.
Almost like "pick your side".

Awesome posters, I especially like the Batman with Superman logo version. These could pass for comic covers.

It might be true that this sequel is not as good as the original.
However, I believe that after such a massive success as the first one was and after all the oversaturation of Marvel product it was inevitable that the critics got tired of the success and are now gunning for Marvel films.
If you compare THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER and VARIETY you will find that they both contradict themselves a lot. Granted, opinions do vary on everything - but if one critic says the action sequences are worse and the other says they are much better...

It might be true that this sequel is not as good as the original.
Or it may be as terrible as the original, depending on your point of view
EDIT: I originally thought you were commenting on BVS and not Avengers - sorry!

I think they're good too, very pop art. Much better than the usual Photoshop rubbish we receive.
I'm seeing Age of Ultron on the weekend. I know very little about the movie, so I'm going in without expectation.

It's been a week or so since this has been online, and my views have changed. I'm actually excited for Batman v Superman. Having a new screenwriter and cinematographer is what was needed, alongside other things. Visually and thematically, I think we're in for a far more dark, grittier, edgier superhero film than we had received from WB/DC with Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy and Man Of Steel.
While that's been my complaint (biggest one) with Man Of Steel, I'm really liking it for Batman v Superman. It is the only way to tell this type of story. Plus it's a break from the too lighthearted nature of Marvel's films which are at the point where they're just becoming kids movies marketed for diehard fans/nerds and older people. It'll be nice to have a superhero film that is meant to be dark, instead of just being forced (like Man Of Steel)
I do like the idea of people around the worshiping Superman as a god (people in Mexico standing beside him in awe, SWAT kneeling before him, etc) only to turn their backs on him (False God). Where the fight between the two heroes comes into play is fairly simple it seems. Bruce is keen on taking Superman down because he views him as an Alien/Outsider who can one day use his powers against the people on Earth and Superman looks at Bruce Wayne/Batman as just a man in a bat suit who is a second away at going crazy and start murdering people. Of course they will fight, and realize there is a greater enemy (which sets up Justice League.
I'm still not sold on Cavill as Superman, but I'll just have to deal with that. On what was shown at least, I am pretty sold on Affleck as Batman. I love the Frank Miller/Dark Knight Returns suit, the grizzled look on Bruce Wayne, and the voice. I think Christian Bale was a good Bruce Wayne, but as Batman, he was fantastic in Batman Begins. There were just other elements in The Dark Knight that, for me, made up for his okay Batman.
It's easy to say that it looks boring or dreadful or no fun, but It's better than Marvel's trailers, which seem bent on trying to shove loads of action in there to make it "cool" or thrilling.
You can count on me being there opening day - March 25th, 2016. The idea of seeing these two heroes, icons, and legends in their own right clashing will be a sight.
Don't f*** it, Zack!

FIRST LOOK: Jared Leto as The Joker in David Ayer's Suicide Squad for WB/DC

Well, they've done it. They've actually done it. DC/WB has driven this Batman fanatic away from not one, but TWO Batman related films in the near future. This is so disappointing... bleh.

Interesting. I'm glad they aren't re-treading the Heath Ledger look. One of the most interesting aspects of the character that Grant Morrison suggested that he can change his personality on any given day, so I like how the characters appearance and personality can (and has) changed with each on-screen interpretation.
That being said, I like the look, but the tattoos... the jester and the cards are fine. The hahaha's seem too on the nose, and the forehead tattoo is a bad choice. I'm concerned it'll be a distraction from the expressions of the character. And also 'damaged'- again too on the nose, I don't think anyone needs to literally have it spelt out that the character is damaged.

Indeed he is a good actor, but the character looks awful. It's as if Ayer/WB/DC got together to discuss how they can craft a far more edgier and grittier (and now sillier) looking Joker after Ledger's.

Actually the more I think about it, I really do not like those tattoos. I've already mentioned the haha's, but the iconography from the comics of the Joker smile on his forearm and (what looks to be) on his left hand is a bad choice. It's like having the Bat-card with the Batman logo in Batman & Robin. And I really am against the forehead tattoo. It's distracting and 'damaged' is amazingly unimaginative or interesting.
Those eyes are absolutely insane though. If he brings that to the screen he'll be interesting enough without needing a stupid tattoo on his face to remind the audience that he's a 'damaged' (yet apparently sane enough to label himself that) character.

I honestly think the tattoos make it all worse. Obviously the character itself is locked (I'm assuming Arkham in this film) and this is the writer/director and the studio's way of showing a hardened convict, yet it looks goofy. Instead they've literally outdone themselves from Ledger's Joker but in a wrong way. If Leto didn't have the tattoos or the "grill" so to speak, I'd actually welcome this design.
I know it's wishful thinking, but I'm hoping the tattoos were just for the image, but I know that is highly unlikely.

I don't get why it's so hard to get a decent portrayal of the Joker on the big screen. I never much cared for Nolan and Ledger's interpretation and this looks like it'll be disappointing as well.
This all just goes to show just how inept the people in charge of DC are. They've got, hands down, the better set of characters when compared to Marvel, and when it comes to the quality of the films, Marvel has really set the bar quite low, yet they can't do better. Given all the complaining about it back when it was announced, Ben Affleck is the only good thing they have going at the moment.

The thing about Marvel's films, particularly Phase 2, is that they are virtually the same, especially the indistinguishable third and final act. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was actually decent up until the middle of the second act to third act when it stopped being a good espionage thriller and decided to have an overload of CGI and go back to being an action fest. I did like Guardians Of The Galaxy when it came out, but on rewatch, not as much. The humor felt flat and it comes off as trying too hard to be overly quirky and fun, instead of letting it come natural.
I wouldn't say that Nolan's Batman films are dark, bleak, or depressing. They may look like that, but I have never felt it. Batman Begins is a perfectly crafted drama in a action film, and The Dark Knight is a brilliant crime film. Man Of Steel went the Nolan route, and we both know that story and it's outcome. I hold firmly that Batman v Superman will turn out to be good, and it is a needed break from Marvel's over saturation of the superhero and comic genre. Suicide Squad is another story. The cast is okay, save for Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, and Joel Kinnaman.
Regarding the tattoos on Leto's Joker. The image was released on the characters 75th publication birthday, and I think they were all added on there as self referential to Joker's publication history and his changes over nearly a century. Take that away, and It's overall not a bad look. It is growing on me little by little - and being that Leto is an exceptional actor, he'll be just fine. The man has no limits on the screen.

Personally, I still don't understand all this Marvel hate. The films are great (Iron Man 2 and 3 notwithstanding) and actually feel like superhero films, unlike the depressing and bleak Nolan Batman films and Man of Steel. The 2 most recent Marvel films are arguably the series' best (Captain America: the Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy) and certainly better than anything DC has given since The Dark Knight. I still have absolutely ZERO interest in BvS and even less in Suicide Squad. That said, I'm anxiously awaiting avengers 2 and even Ant-Man even if I Might be slightly disappointed that Black Panther has been slighted for yet another Spider-Man film and there still seem to be no plans for a Planet Hulk film.
I think that the Marvel "hate" comes down to the fact that they, rather consistently, make subpar films. Take away Iron Man and Iron Man 3, and what's left is pretty darn bleak, and those films really only work due to the screen presence that Robert Downey Jr. brings to the proceedings. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is about as mediocre as it gets, and the vast majority of the rest of the films in their cinematic universe are rather poor.

I don't get the Marvel hate either. IMO, the only bad films they've had so far are Iron Man 2 and 3 and the second Thor.

Well all I will say for the Joker here is it's different enough to warrant interest. And I'll always remember how Ledger was criticised from just his casting announcement and reveal pic - look how THAT turned out.
Time will only tell with these things, it's impossible to tell anything from a picture. It's a bold move that's for sure, but again, like Batman, just so many recent incarnations and tones coming out that at times feel un-necessary.
