I think Bond fires first. I believe he's challenged to something of a William Tell duel, but Silva doesn't quite stick to the rules.Or shoots at the individual, misses, and then asks Bond to take a shot.

Epix is bringing the goods.
Another note, it's incredible how that Smirnoff remix from 2006 is still popular with the guys cutting the trailers. I didn't think it was that revolutionary to begin with, but these guys seem to love it.

Thanks for the welcomeWelcome aboard! And thanks for the heads up, there was a bit of script in Bond on Set where Bond refers to Severine's Beretta.

Ooh, yes!Bad quality, but here's the Skyfall gunbarrel from an Adele commercial.

That's a different take from the one in the book, by the look of it.
I expect the barrel itself will be different in the film, too.

I'm pretty certain it is, although the design of the barrel itself will probably be different.I feel like this may be the actual gunbarrel. The pose, while different from the Bond on Set picture, is the exact pose of the 10 minute video clip that shows the filming of it.

I was surprised to hear Javier Bardem say Silva has been suffering for years and been waiting for his revenge, I believe we known that but its now confirmed I guess.

Here is a official clip from the movie Skyfall! http://thefilmstage....th-anniversary/
I hate to say this, especially considering how everything seems to be aligning to create a really great film... But does this scene seem a little "flat" to anyone else? In the trailers, this scene seemed so perfect, so "Bond". But, here, it just doesn't have the same impact. Perhaps it's the (in my opinion) somewhat limpid scoring. Or, maybe it's simply the fact that I've seen the money shot so many times that it's lost it's original impact.
Anyone else have a similar reaction, or am I on my own on this one?
On the other hand, the 10-minute "Secrets of Skyfall" feature is fantastic. Yeah, yeah, there's the obligatory boilerplate -- the cast is great, the story amazing, the villain the best ever, etc. -- but Mendes' description of his approach to the movie has really intrigued me. Could SF be the TDK of the Bond series?

Could SF be the TDK of the Bond series?
I hope not. Because if it were, SF would have an average plot, terrible pacing and nothing but an amazing villain to save what is otherwise a very average film- like TDK.

You're not alone but I think it's the reality that this bit is mid action sequence. In the trailer, the leap has been used as a catharsis. Here, it's a part of the continuation, which in reality may be even better if we get small gem moments like that. Everything is contextual and if you ask me, the clip is perfect as is.

Well, personally, I happen to agree with you about TDK. Structurally it's a mess, a couple of dead-end plot lines could have (and should have) been excised... and Batman shouldn't leave Gotham.
I really was referring to the general consensus of the media and moviegoing public that TDK is a big-budget, explodey action movie that also manages to be smart, well-written, and well-acted. (YMMV on any or all of these aspects, of course.)

I think so. As cast members have mentioned a few times, Skyfall is of a calibre and a depth that isn't really typical of a Bond movie. Much like TDK was in relation to other superhero movies. That's exactly what I feel Skyfall should be. I love that they were talking about making a classic Bond, but the most important thing to me was that they have a good, smart, emotionally, character driven film. The very fact that Sam Mendes agreed to do it shows that there is some weight to it. That's what I've really wanted to see from Bond films. Casino Royale opened the door for the franchise to move in that direction, and I think Skyfall is really going all in on that approach, while still giving us all the action, fun and humor we've come to expect from a Bond film. While many will probably disagree with me, I felt that Nolan's Batman films make a good example as far as where the Bond franchise needs to head as far as overall quality.
