It's always nice to hear it in the trailer, though. It really helps with the hype.

True, but at least he says "Bond, James Bond" in the trailer. That's enough to get me wet.

It's crazy. Thousands of people went to see TDKR e none, not a single one, in the era of smartphone, minicameras, ecc, did a stupid video?
Obviously I'm not talking about this forum's users.

No outright Bond theme, I'm afraid, no.

Vaux, any scenes with Q which hint at good ol' banter in the trailer?

Ah yes, the Q scene got a decent laugh in the cinema. The dialogue is from the art gallery and it's clearly the first time they've met. - "I'm your quartermaster" - "You must be joking". That's followed by the pyjama dialogue and a witty response from Bond. They then both laugh and refer to the other as 007 and 'Q' respectively. Looks a great introductory scene to their relationship.

"Bond, James Bond" also got a nice ripple through the cinema. Nicely delivered to Severine as she smokes a cigarette(!) and they stand chatting on the Macau casino balcony. He later gets carnal with her in the shower of what I believe is her yacht. There's a bit of dialogue where he asks to meet her employer, and she says he should be careful what he wishes for, or something to that effect.

Good shout, as something about Craig's delivery in that brief scene strongly reminded me of his manner in the CASINO ROYALE train and post-victory meals with Vesper - relaxed and enjoying himself.

I saw the trailer in IMAX this afternoon. Very nicely done indeed, but from initial audience reaction, I'm guessing that the audience at first didn't understand that "Skyfall" is a Bond film..

I'll try not to repeat what others have said. No Bond theme, although hints of it are heard in the trailer music. Silva was seen only in outline. Bond initially addressed Wishaw as "Quartermaster," but ended their conversation by calling him "Q." There was quick footage of the digger chewing up one of the freight carriages. I'm already excited for the film, and the trailer has reinforced that feeling.

Can you lucky fellows who saw the trailer describe some more of the scenes you saw? I´m sorry for the request but we´re literaly chewing our shoes off for mental images.

Really, a community of spy fans this big and no one had a phone or any gadget with a cam on it? Poor spy work I´d say ;) But I do get it...it´s the first time and everybody just wants to see the bloody thing.

Anyways, thanks for your descriptions.

Let's see. Eve was driving her Land Rover on a road running parallel to the train tracks, and, as she was approaching the end of the road, she radioed M, "I'm running out of room," and M replied, "Just take the bloody shot!" There was a bit more of Bond's motorcycle toppling end over end as it tumbled off the bridge. There was footage of an Underground train standing at a platform and a bit of the crash.

If I remember any more, I'll post it.

Saw TDKR in IMAX, but no Skyfall trailer. Saw the teaser though. :(

Moderators note by the way: I've seen a number of people ask for bootleg video recordings of it. Please stop. And, unless it's officially released by MGM (or similar) do not post it here.

Hi there Vauxhall, a couple of questions for you. Did the tone and style seem more in line with that of Casino Royale, or does it seem more serious LTK/QoS, or lighthearted like the Brozza films or GF etc? Also, what are your impressions of Berenice as Severine. I'm curious due to her seeming inexperience in the movie scene.

Severine smoking and another scene in the shower... they are taking every advantage of her as possible. Sounds like a wicked trailer and thanks for all the reviews on it.

Don't know about other theaters but the one I was at, a few got kicked out for having their phones out, filming or not, during the first 15 mins of Dark Knight Rises and the attendee's stayed in the theater watching over everyone in attendance throughout the film.

Just back in from seeing TDKR and the trailer. Got a huge audience response to, well, the whole damn thing.

Bloody good stuff. The train bits look amazing and as mentioned, a couple of the bits are spot on. I would have liked to have heard the Bond theme, but in a way, not having it gave it more street-cred so to speak. Still, maybe ending it with the 007 logo and the classic guitar twang would have been a nice touch. Man though, the film and cinematography are epic in every shot.

As to that Bat guy - I enjoyed it. Pretty damn good IMO and I'll give it a solid 8 on the Bryce-o-meter.

I'm really not surprised that there haven't been leaks of the trailer. TDKR is one of the most anticipated films of the year, cinema staff are going to be very hot on people looking like they are filming anything - even having your phone out could be risky with all the cameraphones these days. I would rather enjoy the film I'd payed to see than risk getting chucked out before the film had even started for the sake of a 3 minute trailer - even if it is Bond. So yes, it may be easy to film, but don't expect it to become widely available.

I live nowhere near an imax, so I doubt I'll get to see the exclusive trailer, but it shouldn't be too long before the new trailer - maybe the one Zencat saw - is released to cinemas, and that I have no doubt will be officially released online.

Most of that's true, but we've seen several decent quality bootlegs of the new Superman trailer appear online today. Just surprising, at this point, no one's managed to capture the Bond one as well. Granted, it's supposedly only playing on - what - 337 screens in North America? And Superman's on 3700?

It's clearly tough to be certain from a brief snippet, but my gut instinct is that I'd say it's probably closer to CASINO ROYALE and early Connery than anything else.

Berenice stuck me as very exotic as Severine - there are shots of her walking through the casino, standing at the window in Shanghai, on the deck of the yacht "somewhere in the South China Sea", romping with Bond in a shower and being led down an abandoned city street at gunpoint with Bond.

'Early Connery' being the key phrase for me. I've always tended to press that what made CR so amazing (for me, personally) was that if you took out the laptops, took out the cellphones, and rolled the car models back by 40 years, it could have been interchangeable with one of the 'golden age' 007 films.

CR was simply a film that didn't look out of place when measured against the classics. I personally don't believe FRWL and GF will ever be bested in the overall ranking of Bond films, but CR was at least in the same tier with them. That's my golden standard for contemporary Bond films. And Skyfall certainly seems to have a legitimate shot of joining it.

There are certainly some aspects of technology seen in Q's lab, for instance, but overall I did get a distinctly classic feel and agreed with the comments previously made by Mendes, Craig et al.

Well....the quality is abysmal, but thank you very much. This'll tide me over for a day or two until a better copy is bound to turn up. Although it's hard to make out alot of the images, in this quality you can still tell the cinematography is outstanding. And as for that electronic Bond theme.....incredible.
