Tim Roth.

The "Mr. Orange, surfer dude, cop" Tim Roth... or the "Pumpkin /Ringo 'I love you, Honey-Bunny.' cockney accent" Tim Roth?

After watching 'Taken' and 'Unknown', and a host of other films, I would love to see Liam Neeson as a Bond villain. Either make him up with some distinguishing features for that classic villainous look, or keep him as he is.

He's the new action star, and everything he does is done in a believeable way and I am convinced he would make a very physical and intellectual nemesis for James Bond...

...and he can act too, which is a bonus!!

I would love to see Qui-Gon-Jinn in a Bond film. I thought he made an excellent villain in BAT-MAN BAGINS.

Michael Ironside.
Michael Fassbender.
Tom Hardy.

Michael Ironside I think could have worked in the Brosnan era but I'm not sure about today.
Michael Fassbender wouldn't make that good a villain IMO.
Tom Hardy has come up and up again but I haven't seen to much of his work but I hear 'BRONSON' IS great.

I always thought

CATHERINE ZETA JONES would have made for an excellent villain. Wish they had cast her as Electra King...

Michael Fassbender....was great as Magneto in X-Men First Class
Michael C. Hall....who wouldn't love Bond taking on Dexter?
Liam Neeson....love that he faked his death in Star Wars to leave the Jedi Order in the hands of a demon kid so he could destroy Gotham City

Some lesser-knowns from outside the Anglosphere:

Egyptian actor Amr Waked. He's starting to be cast in western productions. He's a bit young now, but in a few years I could see him as villain material.

Posted Image

Iraqi-Israeli actor Yigal Naor. He's best known for playing Saddam Hussein. I could easily see him as a Goldfinger-Stromberg supergangster type.

Posted Image

Argentine actor Daniel Aráoz. He's mostly appeared in comedies, but I could see him playing a scuzzy undervillain along the lines of Davidov or Milton Krest.

Posted Image

Finnish actor Tommi Korpela. Craggy and creepy, but not without his charms. He's unknown outside of Finland, but you might have seen him in Rare Exports.

Posted Image

Belgian actor Jan Decleir. He might be too old, but he strikes me as perfect Bond villain material.

Some interesting choices there. I'm not familiar with any of them, but simply based on the pictures, I would tend to favor Decleir and Araoz, as it would be a good change of pace to have an older villain again. Korpela looks like he could make a good henchman in the Jaws or Stamper mold.

Interesting choices there Pussfeller. Tommi Korpela has my vote. He reminds me of Willem Dafoe for some reason.

I still wonder why Jurgen Prochnow never played a Bond villain, he would've made a great one.

Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, John Hurt, Toby Jones, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds. I am, of course, rather lazily reeling off the main cast of the "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" remake, but you've got a high quality list there.

Further afield - Liev Schreiber - played the rather creepy, mother fixated would be US Vice President in the remake of "The Manchurian Candidate", and has worked with Daniel Craig before. Or Willem Dafoe. Or John Malkovich - I could never understand why he wasn't cast. I was also impressed by William Sadler as the sadistic US special forces renegade Colonel Stuart in the second Die Hard movie. Another actor who could have made a Bond villain of some sort, I think.

On a general point - my personal preference is for the arch adversary in the Bond films to be the articulate, cerebral type - the "father figure" Ian Fleming seemed to have in mind with most of his villains in the novels - with dangerous, and not necessarily mute henchmen in support.

He already played Davidov in TWINE. I don't think EON will return to the practice of re-hiring actors they've already used once.

I think Joseph Wiseman, Lotte Lenya, Gert Frobe, Adolfo Celi, Donald Pleasance, Telly Savalas, Charles Gray, Yaphet Kotto, Christopher Lee, Curd Jurgens, Michael Lonsdale, Julian Glover, Louis Jourdan, Christopher Walken, Jeroen Krabbe, Robert Davi, Sean Bean, Jonathan Pryce, Sophie Marceau, Toby Stephens, Mads Mikkelsen, Mathieu Amalric and Javier Bardem would all make good villains.

Man, it's odd to think this time next year we'll basically be waiting for the announcement of another Bond film. I get super apprehensive about the whole tight two year schedule. Personally, even if this rumor has a modicum of truth I doubt Cumberbatch would do it. He is constantly complaining about branching out and getting the right parts. I have a had time seeing him do back to back villains for major movies.

Indeed, seems a bit unlikely - uninspired even - to have him in a Bond at the moment. Also not sure how it would tally with another Smiley, should that come up. No, I think his name is just hot at the moment, so he gets thrown about in the usual manner.

He might be an interesting choice in a couple of years. But for now, I'd prefer if they cast someone closer to Craig's age.

It would be interesting to see a villain played by Fassbender or Tom Hardy against the 7th Bond in the 25th film, after Craig retires (if he does).
