Well, Pam looks alright...but who the hell is that other guy? That's not Felix, sorry.

Not even an attempt to go for David Hedison to link in with 'Licence To Kill', or just even the current Jeffery Wright for Daniel Craig's era... jeez.

you said it!

would have been fantastic to see the jeffrey wright version in there. i wonder if they are going to have the whole shark incident, perhaps that's why they couldn't get him? but why create a generic look? hmmm. we've never had a felix that looked like that ever, but it seems believable as bond's american friend

He just looks a bit odd - a typical CIA operative model in games. It's a shame they couldn't use either actors for that.

^That's really good. Yeah Felix Liter looks really really weird. Pam looks exactly like how she did in the film which is good.

Cracking covers guys, love them...we should be employed for future games, the real Bond fans who know how to capture the spirit of 007!

And I've just pre-ordered this on Amazon. £37. I know it's a lot, but it's Bond, and I want it now!

This basic design for the cover sucks no matter what you do to it. Also Felix in the books always seemed to look like Jimmy Dean............................ Not Agent Carlson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe for it to be good? But as a fellow Minnesotan, I understand the acceptability for long winter months to be filled with mediocre Bond games. Though college has certainly removed me from the overall gaming scene.

I'm a sucker for James Bond endorsed products and will only buy James Bond games like this without thinking and make the best of it. I'm not expecting groundbreaking gameplay, but if it delivers then I'll be very surprised and happy!

Either way, it's part of being a Bond fan I suppose!

That should be the determining factor in buying any merchandise, Bond related or otherwise. If we keep purchasing subpar products that EON, Activision, or Ian Fleming Publications offer up to us, they won't raise the bar and try to make them better, which is something that is desperately needed out of the videogame and literary Bond franchises.

I agree. I don't expect the game to be groundbreaking or revolutionary in the slightest. I just want it to be fun, and I'm sure in that regard despite its shortcomings it'll be entertaining.

It may be true what you say, but it's never going to happen on the fact some true fans don't buy the products. They will all still sell well enough to bring money in on the basis of the James Bond name.

We will only continue to get what we get as long as everything runs as it does now, or until the licence is bought by the next studio/team with a longing to rake money in from 007 fans.

Start a petition to have EA buy back the rights (?).

Yes because that will definitely change the corporate minds. Activision will give up their rights to one of the biggest movie franchises of all time because people signed a petition.
The things is that good games have come out under both Activision and EA but it really depends on what studio they give the game to.
For example this game is being made by Eurocom, look at the games they have made:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurocom
All crappy movie-tie in games.
Activision and EA have developed/published hit game franchises like Call of Duty and the Battlefield series. Why not give the game to those studios to work on? Because they don't want those studios to be delayed on making their next bigseller. With a movie tie-in game there's no effort because they know that those who love said franchise will buy the game anyway.

Treyarch made that train wreck Quantum of Solace game and were responsible for several COD games. Eurocom has made two very good Bond games, so I'd say Activision has the right team in place right now. The reason these games will never be as good as they could be is largely due to budgetary issues, and probably some creative red tape we know nothing about. I doubt EON wants their games to have better plots/characters than their movies, so I'm sure measures are in place to keep that from happening.

Personally, I hate Battlefield. It's the publisher (Activision and EA) is own fault for giving it to a developing studio that makes terrible games. They should know better.

I don't think it has anything to do with giving the franchise to inferior teams so that the A-team(s) can continue to work on the Call of Duty franchise. I'd say that the current crop of Bond games are about on par with the Call of Duty franchise, which is to say that they're decidedly subpar. Activision is just not a good publisher and the only way the Bond gaming franchise improves is for it to change hands once again (and not revert back to EA either).

I'd personally would love to see Visceral Games do a Bond game, which won't happen. Rockstar won't get their hands on it. Ubisoft would make it more spy and stealth oriented I'm sure (which I would love.)

Activision is just going to run it to the ground much like they did with Guitar Hero.

Have you seen what Ubisoft have done to the latest Splinter Cell game? The once premier stealth franchise has been forced into the next Michael Bay inspired set piece showcase.

I don't mean to defend Activision, but they are no worse than their other major competitors. Don't forget EA have taken a major hit since they published the Bond games, closing several of their studios and were recently voted the worst company in America. EA lost they Bond licence after they couldn't meet dead lines and cancelled projects. There's a lot of poor management going on over there. Heck, they couldn't even trot the annual NBA game out the door this year. Those games are basically annual roster updates for easy money. If they couldn't even execute that, I don't see them doing wonders for Bond.

I find it hard to believe that EA was voted worst company, especially over Activison. I haven't payed a splinter cell game since Double Agent. Conviction looked to action-y. They've done a great job with the Rainbow Six franchise though.

I liked the RS:Vegas games too, but even with them you have to admit many of the tactical elements were been removed in favour of being a more straight up cover shooter. This seems to be an industry trend not limited to Bond or Activision games. and I'd actually argue that GoldenEye Reloaded had some of the stronger stealth mechanics in recent years.
