It's better than I expected, but not great. Nice to have the 50th logo on there.

I agree Pete...which in a way actually makes me think this could be a mock-up and not the final thing because I wouldn't have thought Activision put the Bond 50 logo on the game. I don't know why, but just feel it wouldn't be on there. I'm probably wrong thinking this isn't the official cover but I do like the inclusion very much so.

I think it's quite likely this is the final cover. If it has to be like this though, I wish they'd replace the images with screens from the game, and new ones that we haven't seen umpteen times already.

It's not incessant bitching. It is however incisive and their is good reason for it. Listen, we're all Bond fans. They could throw Judi Dench on the cover, have her walking in a garden, and slab Skyfall on the front and we'd still clamor for it. However, little Joey from down the block who doesn't have internet is going to walk into a game store. His mommy is going to let him buy one highly violent game and unfortunately the book will be judged by its cover.

There is a lot of derision to the fact that the Raven game was cancelled and we're going away from third person Bond. Bloodstone sold awfully. Partially because it was not marketed, partially because of competition. But honestly, when you have a no name title, unlike Goldeneye, and the best you can do is throw a picture of Bond on the cover, like Bloodstone, you can't expect that to compete. Flash (partially) sells if we like it or not. Bond not selling is not going to help us get a great Bond game that we sort of deserve (we don't deserve anything). So yeah, I'll bitch and moan a little and throw my voice into the void in hopes of it getting heard. All just in case that one person is listening and realizes "this looks like [censored]."

Maybe not Janus, but if James Bond is going to be marketed globally and this is the first thing people, fans and gamers see before buying, I just wish it looked a bit more engaging, current and some thought put into it rather than looking like a 1990s Gameboy cover or something. That's all.

Marketing and imagery is just as important to games, and James Bond as a whole, to us fans I think, not just the final product.

Did it? That is a shame: it's a decent game, one of the better Bonds I think.

First of all, I don't see why anyone actually gives a [censored] about this game when we all know it is going to be another call of duty rehash like goldeneye reloaded. Most of us hate activison when it comes to bond because the do everything with the call of duty engine and of course i will here "Well Qauntum of Solace was good." It was decent at best. They hype it out, and give us medicore [censored]. You guys are like YAY (runs to comment on forum) this game is going to be super fun....loads the game into xbox..."what is this gay [censored]". A month later(Runs back to post on forums) that game either sucked or was medicore. I have seen it a thousand times. This game may have classic elements but with the COD engine it will suck! End of rant.

They haven't used the COD engine since QOS. ;)

But I get your point.

Yes they have. Goldeneye Reloaded was a prime example with all of the dumb acog sights, perks blah blah blah

Similar gameplay, but not the same engine.

Name 3 different aspects from the apparent new egine that isn't part of the Call of duty engine.

They're not the same engine though.

The engine doesn't refer to the gameplay, I believe it's more or less the framework of the code that the game itself is built around. It's a different piece of software that's running it, in other words. In that respect they are different engines. The gameplay is similar, yes, but they are built using different production modules. That said, GE Reloaded has superior game play (if it's at all like the Wii version). The cover system is unique. Being able to perk up while crouched behind cover is a small but welcome change to the standard FPS model. On the whole, however, Treyarch's work and Eurocom's is more or less similar on the gameplay side of things. I think Eurocom has better mission variety and level design, though. Linear, but not blatantly so.

It doesn't matter what us Bond fans want because as long as Craptivision has the Bond license, we will never get the Bong game we want. They'll keep making COD clones because that's what sells.

The cover is a bit naff, yes, but like others have said, in my case will be shelved away anyway and you'll only see the spine. I just hope the game is good at the end of the day. I'm not bothered about what engines or coding or whatever else they use. I enjoy playing CoD, but I enjoy a variety other games too.

I think the thing I'm most concerned about is the driving, and how the cars will handle. To my mind, AUF, Nightfire, and EoN had the best car handling. FRWL and Bloodstone were awful to drive in. I don't need realistic handling, as long as the car doesn't spin out of control if I so much as tap the control stick.

Do we know when the final classic film will be revealed (even if at this point it pretty much looks like it's GF)?

Probably sometime this month, based on how they've been revealing everything so far.

Still beating around the social media bus then! So either that cover isn't real, or they are unaware they've released it and 'Goldfinger' is on there for everyone to see?

LOL, Mature rating? In Italy it'll get a 16+ years rating, if not a teen rating. It's highly unlikely a game ever gets the M rating in Italy (which means 18+).

Absolutely brilliant. You could change the shade of the cover for a little bit darker, but it is really good looking one.

Get real activision. You wouldn't get 20,000 likes in 10 years.

They would if it was a CoD page.

Hope we get a bit more of this game soon, like this final "film" reveal and maybe final confirmations of game structure and DLC rather than lots of cryptics clues, images and nonsense!

Update from 007: Legends FB page:

00-fans, we have a mission for you; each day we'll be revealing a new piece of a puzzle to complete. Together, they will reveal an image from the next movie. Who's up to the task? Share this image with your friends to enlist their help!

It's like something for James Bond Jnr fans, to make up puzzles and collect images, sharing with friends...christ just get on with it!

I can't find the image here at my work, but it looks very 'golden' and either Fort Knox esque or a Auric Enterprise's laser room I'm betting...I'll update if I get the picture later..
