I don't think it will be canon...well, I do, but it will be in the Daniel Craig universe, so his Bond will go through everything that has gone before in the film versions, ie: battling Blofeld, meeting Gustav Graves and taking revenge on Sanchez, leading to 'Skyfall'.

So it will sort of be Bond-canon, but for the DC universe....and not strictly accurate for future film plots mind you.

So the missiles on the Aston will be heat seeking. That's too bad. No real skill required there. Still, they sounded satisfied with what they saw.

True, they did. I was not originally sold on this game, but I'm slowly coming around. Surprisingly, I thought DAD look the most promising. Still wish they would just announce Goldfinger and Skyfall already. Why all the secrecy?

Yep. I think he meant the 'announcement' of SKYFALL being the release of the trailer for that level. Same goes for GOLDFINGER.

I feel pretty confident that we're not going to have a trailer or such for the SKYFALL levels for quite a while. With how much secrecy there has been surrounding this film, I can't imagine that EON would risk exposing an action sequence or something by way of a videogame trailer.

I'm beginning to think that we might infact have another mission revealed that isn't Skyfall. If they're going for an overarching narrative, then it doesn't really make much sense to have the final level as a DLC, especially for those people who haven't got XBOX live, and will be left with an incomplete game.

I've been thinking that - they can't really push much for 'Skyfall' at least until October when the film is out so not to reveal too much in the game, so 2 more missions may well mean 2 more classic film missions - and then the "bonus" added 'Skyfall' content as DLC. I hope so anyway, more classic Bond can't be a bad thing.

I think that is just wishful thinking. Instead of releasing the game in full 2 weeks later, they're just gonna release it incomplete ahead of Skyfall. I'm sure they don't care whether you can access xbox live or playstation network. you activision.

We've not had a decent 'Goldfinger' game though except a loose thread via 'GoldenEye Rogue Agent' - it should be ok if that is the one, but I feel it's just too obvious when 'You Only Live Twice' has room for far more work.

I can't think of anything in 'Goldfinger' that could warrant a full scale Bond shooter...oh, yes I can, Fort Knox. You'll be storming Fort Knox probably instead of being fixed to the bomb and battle OddJob with machine guns and probably have to shoot down Goldfinger's helecopter to stop him! *shudder*

I highly doubt we're getting a sixth mission/level that isn't SKYFALL. It would throw off the whole 'one film per Bond actor' structure.

I highly doubt it as well. We'll get confirmation on the Connery film they've chosen for the game sometime in September and then that'll be the last of the major news until the SKYFALL content is released.

There won't be another. It'll be MR, OHMSS, LTK, DAD, GF (presumably) and SF.

Having said that, maybe the 7th mission will be the 1967 Casino Royale?

I guess it would be possible for there to be additional DLC levels after the game's release as well as the release of Skyfall, but I would imagine that it would heavily depend on how well the game sells out of the gate.

If Goldfinger is going to be part of the game, they should really change the plot, because in the movie all Bond did was killing Oddjob. For the rest, he only let two girls dying, cowardly revealed as many info as possible to get his life saved.

No, in their official Facebook page they confirmed the sixth mission will be Skyfall. And they also confirmed that their lazy silly awful way to overarche all the missions will be Bond's "watery deeps" after being shot in Skyfall.
I think another videogame entirely based on Skyfall would have been better.

Have they confirmed if the game will be canon with the movies? Be strange if it isn't to have Felix eaten and then appear in Bond 24 with prosthetics and no explanation....or all of his appendages intact if it is.

I really hope not.

Where was this confirmed? If this is true, this is awful news. The only thing that really had me interested in this game was the way the stories were supposed to all hold together. If the best way Bruce Feirstein could come up with to achieve this is have the whole thing be one prolonged dream sequence, I can honestly say I've lost a ton of respect for him and could care less about this game, now.

I pretty much always assumed that that was the way they were going to tie the events of the game together, so I can't say that I'm at all surprised that it actually appears to be what they've done (this is the second time I've read on an Bond forum that they've gone that route). I'm disappointed, of course, but given that this game has pretty much had disaster written all over it from the word go, I can't say I'm surprised either.

At least they've got Carey Lowell returning as Pam Bouvier. That might make it at least worth a rental.

I read that somewhere too, that he has flashbacks after being left for dead in the water. For awhile, I was under the impression that they would all have a connection through say the Quantum organization. However, seeing as Quantum is apparently nowhere to be found in Skyfall, this seems to be very unlikely. As for Fierstein, I never really had much respect for him to begin with. I never cared much for his writing and believe that his strongest addition to the Bond canon is still Everything or Nothing. I also am still disappointed that Craig is appearing in all 6 of the missions. While I guess using the original actors would break up the narrative, I still would rather see Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan up there with Craig and have the missions set in their respective eras. The game is called 007 LEGENDS after all.

Considering that all these elements are from different eras, wasn't it inevitable that they'd be yoked together by some contrived frame story?

I didn't know if the missions would be linked, in a sense Bond would be after 1/2 main villains and his mission would take him from the 'LTK' drug facility, to where he then ends up coming across the 'Moonraker' launch in South America....and somehow ends up in Iceland for 'DAD' and Switzerland for 'OHMSS'... I don't know, but that would be so hard to do with the range of locations featured.

I think it really will be a flashback to Bond's most dangerous and meaningful missions that he "remembers" as he is in the unconcious state during 'Skyfall', but it's as if Daniel Craig's 007 did the missions, not Connery, Moore or Dalton etc. So either the 'Skyfall' mission must really be downloadable as a 'prologue' before the 1st classic mission starts, or after Bond comes around for the finale...maybe it will be something other than the pre-titles we get to play?
