Just saw this pop up on Twitter.. Apparently some of the specially built Land Rovers which are planned for filming, were stolen from location! Unfortunately I don't have much of a knowledge of German so perhaps someone who does can take a look at the article and see if they can gather any more details..

No they weren't stolen from location. Five of them were specially prepared for the film by the LandRover training centre in Neuss/Germany and were about to be transported to Austria. The were stolen before this happened, and with them four other cars. Total value 800,000 Euros. Now they have to prepare 5 new ones.

May bugger logistics a bit, depending on how much work they put into those cars and how much time it takes to prepare new cars, but not the budget. Mind you, they were stolen from LandRover before delivery.

Hmmm, the clock is ticking - and still no official announcement for a press conference or photo call?

Maybe they will only do a press release?

A press release is really all they need to do, IMO.  Those press conferences that they usually hold are pretty pointless and accomplish little more than a simple press release would anyway.

The press conference normally gets them a spot on all the T.V. news bulletins here in the U.K. (and in many other countries too.)

This is quite important for starting to establish in the mind of the public that a new Bond film is on the way.

A press release wouldn't create such attention - they know what they're doing.

I agree.  Just a press release would not be sufficient these days.

Granted, a press conference does not really reveal anything big - and, boy, most journalists there ask the most idiotic questions ever, so don´t count on them.

But as Shrublands says - it´s all about air time, getting the faces on the screen world wide.  We´re the tiny group who knows that BOND 24 will be out next October.  Most people, if asked, would just say: A new Bond?  They probably will do it with... uh, this guy from last time?

So, two things: 1) Does anyone think the hack of Sony is interfering with news on a press conference? 2) Comingsoon.net has released an article saying Marvel's Age of Ultron is filming reshoots at Pinewood in January. Is that a clue that Bond 24 will be elsewhere then?

The hackers have released five of Sony's films online to pirate, one of which is Fury. Sony is taking this into serious hands now and looking into these hackers, but I doubt it would interfere with a possible pres conference. Unless these hackers release much more information in the coming days, I don't see it happening.

As for Avengers. Not entirely, as it depends on the scenes they are reshooting. It can be a week, it can be a few days, it can be two weeks. Who knows. EON can always go back to Pinewood once Marvel leaves, I don't think it'll be a big hiccup in the prinicple photography shoot.

Here's my point: the building of sets and their availability within the Pinewood facility are not something that are (typically) turned around in a matter of days or weeks, so either Bond 24 has their schedule there in December, or beyond the January dates Marvel has reserved. My guess entirely.

They could be shooting on different sound stages, Studios often have different films in production simultaneously.

Yes, 'Snow White and the Huntsman' was shooting at Pinewood during some of Skyfall's shoot. There's lots of studio space there.

Only a few weeks ago about 30 tonnes of steel was delivered to Pinewood for set construction on Bond 24.

Hopefully Batista will be there. I know a henchman might not be a big enough role for a presser, but I'd like to see him with the rest of the cast/crew.

Monica Belucci could finally be in a Bond movie?!

Oh, I knew one of theese classics would come up before the announcement. Usually, it's Antony Hopkins, Connery cameo, Aishwarya Rai and Monica Belucci. Gulsham Grover gave up years ago.

If I remember correctly wasn't there a tabloid that said Al Pacino was going to be in QOS? I'm fairly certain I heard that.

Deadline is not reliable anymore since Nikki Finke was forced out there.
