In the picture you can see the Land Rover stunt-car driven by a stuntman on the roof. Note the holes caused by gunshot fire on the windshield.

Hadn't seen the Land Rover at first. Good spot! Also, it appears that those are Turkish number plates on the other vehicles, so looks like the sequence is certainly set in Turkey, not doubling for anywhere else.

Freight train leading ore from Kayseri to the town of Iskenderun in the Hatay Province was derailed on the historical Varda Bridge during the filming of the "James Bond Skyfall" film . The officers ,after working approximately 2 hours, could save the train that derailed.
According to information received , the incident took place on the historic Varda Bridge , in the center of the district of Karaisalı near the village of Hacıkırı. While there wasn't killed or injured in the accident, the filming of the"James Bond Skyfall" movie was made on the bridge one day before the date - was revealed.

To derail the train, the staff asked for help from 8 people in charge with the train . Freight train was rescued about 2 hours after the arrival of assistance crews.
However during this recovery some damage to the rails occurred, the Adana-Kayseri expedition train had to wait for stops until 22.00. Trains could be started after completion of repairs in the rails.

Sevgi Avcı , squeezing and making pancakes by the side of the bridge said " The derailment of the train came suddenly only because of the load off the track. Good that it didn't fall down".

The worker Ibrahim Deveci in charge of the train track said that the train leading load to Iskenderun came derailed on the bridge and remained stranded for 2 hours.

I would rule out the hypothesis that it was an incident, most likely these were test shots.

Indeed - would the film makers really be that clueless that they would accidentally derail a whole train?

Rhetorical question - doesn't need a response.

I'm going to take a guess at what the translation means. First, it sounds like the derailment was an accident. They wouldn't have been waiting on the arrival of "assistance crews" had the derailment been planned. Next, I'm guessing that the derailment involved a scheduled freight service and wasn't part of the filming. Although I'm on shakier ground here, I think the reference to the incident having occurred "during the filming" means that it happened during the period of time covered by the filming, not during the actual shooting of a scene for the movie, as the article says that filming of the movie had taken place the day before. Finally, the statement that it was a "good thing that it didn't fall down" refers to the carriage that derailed, not to the bridge.

These are just guesses based on the Google translation, but they seem to fit the language in question.

They wouldn't want to destroy a Koran, would they.

Love the antique shop article. Really interesting detail, in my opinion. Perhaps these objects will be furnishings for the yacht which we believe will be filmed in Fethiye - possibly Silva's yacht, slightly similar to Scaramanga's...

I noticed that there's no evidence of filming activity around the area of the train derailment. This bolsters my view that, apart from location, it was unrelated to the movie.

Or it might just be some fool with a junk shop trying to get a bit of publicity from a credulous press.

'007 James Bond-Skyfall ' director and producers together with a translator came to the shop, drew pictures of goods,

The idea of Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes standing amongst all this clutter drawing pictures of old radios, "books dating from 1980" and this bamboo crap is just priceless.

Between Lucy and Luigi, the round up of information has been incredible. No idea why people are getting anticipatory about the video blogs which are at the high end of non-information.

As for the pancakes, the view from the cooking area looks splendid. What a wonderful place to work.

If my understanding of Turkish is correct, the French actress Berenice Marlohe who portrays the role of the Bond girl in the next 007 James Bond film - Skyfall - was on the Varda Bridge yesterday to do her test shots.
Then she drunk the squeezed and roasted tea with the film crew and said she will propose it also to James Bond.
While the shooting of Skyfall continues in Adana, shooting of the action sequence started also on the 99 meters high Varda Bridge located near the Hacıkırı village in the center of the town of Karaisalı. Craig too will participate in the next days of shooting on the 172 meters long bridge, continuing the work.
Sevgi and Mehmet Avci , since 8 years selling roasted tea near the Varda Bridge , were admiring the film crew for the first time.
On the Varda Bridge a car crash scene and bridge jumping scenes were shot, specifies Sevgi Avcı, " I did not know the female actor. It turns out that she’s the Bond girl. Interpreters said so. But I liked the shaking sensation. Then I made my own, setting aside the shaking, I brought seven dishes. She paid the money also for the interpreters", he said.

While working the famous Yazar Orhan Kemal, who inspired the first industrial enterprise in Adana, Turkey, the historic 7th National Textile Factory, is used for action scenes and damaged cars in the last film of the 007 James Bond series, Skyfall.
In the neighborhood of the Central Seyhan district, having an area of 68 thousand 530 square meters of flooring, the historic factory comes into action again after 12 years hiatus. After serving Turkish industry for 93 years in 2000 production stopped and left to decay of the century-old factory, Skyfall converted it into garages. The James Bond film crew used the bicycles production section part of the factory as a warehouse rented at a price of four thousand pounds.

When shooting an action sequence in Adana, the damaged vehicles brought into the factory are repaired by Turkish and foreign mechanics. Vehicles are transported on TIRs to the locations for shooting the action sequences and then again are delivered to the factory and brought to repairers. Mechanics day and night repair damaged vehicles individually. Cemal Beyazkaya ,who were the guardians of the factory said the James Bond team hired the factory to use as a garage for vehicles used in the film and those which suffered damages in the action scenes to be repaired.
