some news from Turkey:
-DC won't arrive until late April
-There will be scenes at the Tortum waterfalls (http://www.tsunny.co...-waterfall.html)
-The Egyptean or Spice Bazaar will also feature in the Istanbul scenes (http://en.wikipedia....azaar,_Istanbul)

http://translate.goo...prmd%3Dimvnsofd

Thanks for posting, Kamran_Shah.
The fact that they are going to take shots also at the Tortum waterfalls is a confirmation that the sequence they intended to shoot in India has remained substantially unchanged.
As you can read in this old article , the sequence requires a particular height.

http://entertainment...all-050911.html

My idea, based on what has been reported by the turkish media, is that the sequence requires that Bond falls off the train while passing on the Varda Bridge and ends up in a body of water. Then he will re-emerge from the waters in a coastal environment or in a beach.
For the final part of the PTS I think they are going to shoot on the Varda Bridge, at the Tortum waterfalls and finally in the coastal town of Fethiye.

It was never confirmed that the train sequence would form the PTS of SKYFALL; for some reason, everyone assumed it would happen that way when the Indians started talking it up. In fact, it is believed that the PTS will actually take place in Istanbul.

I wouldn't call the scenes to be shot at Totum waterfall confirmation that the original scene will be shot. Looking at the article that KS supplied, I see no mention of a trainline - and the trainline at Dudhsagar was said to be an important part of the scene.

However, I cannot help but note that the Spice Bazaar bears a remarkable resemblance to a similar location in New Delhi that was also planned for shooting.

Do you think Bond will fall on the vacuum then? How do you think he can survive falling from such a height?

The original scene was said to involve Bond jumping a bike from a bridge to a train. He would then abandon the bike and jump onto another train. From there, he would jump into a body of water, which was believed to be at Dudhsagar because the train line at Dudhsagar runs below the falls, not above them. I have no idea where the suggestion that Bond will jump off the falls is coming from. The Indians might have said it, but they were talking up the idea of Bond visiting India at every opportunity. Any and every government official with even the faintest connection to the film had an opinion on it, so it is entirely plausible that someone mistook "jumping off the train in front of the falls" to mean "jumping off the falls".

Interesting to look at these locations on a map of Turkey - they really stretch all across the country, north to south, east to west. The Turkish authorities must have been truly accommodating with their filming permits!

It's good publicity. It's likely that SKYFALL will show parts of Turkey that a lot of movie-goers never thought existed. Anyone in their right minds would leap at the chance. Except the Indians. All they cared about what having the film promote India, to the extent that they wanted the film to misrepresent the country.

A longer version of the last week's video report on Skyfall shooting in Adana.

Longer????

It’s Turkey - we need to know if it’s 3 minutes or 7 or 10 or 13 or 15 or 18?
Will this film be 90 minutes or 100 or 138?
Will they shoot for 2 and a half months or 27 days or 8 weeks and 4 days?

LOL! I've always suspected that the length is what really counts... ;-)

Now granted we don't know a lot, but I'm thinking this train action sequence sounds like one of the most ambitious action sequences we've seen in a Bond film in quite a while.

I was thinking the same thing. An action scene on a train in a Bond film sounds kind of "been their done that," but an action scene on a train with a Caterpiller on it, sounds awesome.
