Yes. I´ve asked Mr. Page why he said pictures plural and all we got was the one. He said he did say pictures, so some more to come I guess.

Look, am I really alone in getting a strangely poignant LOST IN TRANSLATION-ish/Edward Hopper-ish vibe from this image? Now, I freely admit that I may be reading far, far too much into it, but Bond, to me, seems isolated, dejected and pensive here - vulnerable, even. It's the kind of shot that would have suited the start of QUANTUM OF SOLACE. It tells us nothing about the plot of SKYFALL, yet seems to speak volumes about its content, tone and overall aesthetic.

Or maybe I'm just reading way too much into it, who knows? Still, isn't this much more intriguing than a common-or-garden shot of Craig holding a gun?

Damn right, this is an interesting still for a James Bond film and it gives me a very good vibe about Sam Mendes' direction.

Of course I'd certainly also love to see a still of, say, Bond in a nice shirt and shoulder holster - or maybe cleaning his Walther PPK in a hotel room. If something like that came out, actually from the film too, not just a publicity thing, it'd be awesome. If this film is going to need anything it's a good chunk of classic iconography - not obvious/lame references, nods and homages, just more classic stylistic elements of James Bond revived in Craigian glory. After trying so hard to take Craig's portrayal in a fresh direction, now is the perfect time to nail the polish of the old with the rawness of the new.

Nice put! This is exactly what I want, a mix. It's awesome that they may be giving Craig the chance to be a more classic Bond, but I sure hope they don't forget to keep the edge and freshness that made his Bond so great in the first place.

No, its all Jim. Just go 2 or so pages back. He mentioned it 3 times already and "tunnel of love" is HIS expression. I am not half as poetic as he is. BTW - its not me anyway, its ALL Bond thinking, right?

What was QOS first official pic? Anyone remembers?

I think the first Quantum of Solace promotional pictures were of cast photos released after the press conference. Then we got official pics of White and Bond, Fields on the bed and a few others a month or so later.

None had the aesthetic and mood of this one if I can recall. Nor did the ones from CR for that matter. Except maybe for the teaser poster (CR), which was brilliant IMO.

It may not be an official picture after all. Bond23.net reports that it's apparently been removed from the Empire site and speculates that it was leaked.

Official or no, it's certainly from the film. And if official pictures are being released this week, EON only have until Wednesday to do it (assuming that the original reporter who revealed that pictures would be coming this week was told the day he posted it).

Perhaps a journalist "took" the pool photo between others and filter it...

I actually really liked that pic, "tunnels of love" apart (damn, one cannot escape from the quips). But I´m very curious as to what EON will choose to show us first.
