Thanks to the excellent work of Markhetto (and others), now we all know where are the trucks, the cars, the exact zone of London... And all we have is a faded photo of the DB5.
If it is a chase, is it mute? nobody hears anything? nobody woke up and saw an Aston Martin and said: "Oh that´s 007 again, let´s go to bed"? Nobody can go to that zone of London, perhaps in the weekend? Here in Spain we have to see the Madrid-Barça (Visca el Barça, by the way), but those of you that are in London...
Something tells me that when the crew would be in Shanghai (if...), we´ll have dozens of photos every single day...

Then it's going to be a bloody long film - I believe that during shooting of CASINO ROYALE, scene #170-ish was set in the gardens during Bond's rehabilitation, some time around the infamous "my little finger" exchange.
Not necessarily. According to doublenoughtspy, the shooting script of FOR YOUR EYES ONLY had 794, the third draft of GOLDENEYE had 471, while THE SPY WHO LOVED ME HAD had 586. It varies hugely from film to film, and rarely correlates with the length of the final cut.
Let me put it this way – I have worked in film for over 20 years and I have NEVER seen a screenplay for a 2-hour film with that many scenes. Anything between 100 and 200 or so would be normal.

London is a very big place and most people have their own life to live. If I was 15 again I may have jumped on a train at 11pm and headed to the location but I'm not. I think we're lucky we have any photos at all. Be patient, the production and general public aren't obliged to provide you with photos.

Maybe they haven't been specifically told that it is a Bond film, only that it is a film. Maybe EON have requested that residents keep their windows drawn for the purposes of the scene. If it is a chase, is it mute? nobody hears anything? nobody woke up and saw an Aston Martin and said: "Oh that´s 007 again, let´s go to bed"? I think some people online have a very poor attitude to the filming process, demanding photos at every turn and constant status updates. I've seen it here, I've seen it at MI6 and I've seen it over at Bond and Beyond. It's quite clear that EON and Sam Mendes have gone to great pains to keep everything under wraps for as long as possible, so that they can produce a better finished product to audiences. The least you can do is respect that.

That's tremendous!

I'd guess it's not a chase, not with the DB5 anyway. I know they managed it for GoldenEye, but I don't think it's easy to get hold of doubles for such an old, valuable car.
Shame we can't see if it's a left or right hand drive one. It's not important, but it'd be interesting to see if it's supposed to be the one from CR.

a night chase through the streets of London should be awesome considering no one is around....could be intense and very dangerous for Bond because he cant see anything. Could be something similar to GOldfinger
My thoughts exactly!

All I want to notify is my surprise about the no-photos. We all remember the TWINE filming at the Thames, even DAD when Carver and Frost appearing in the middle of London... We had lots of photos online (yes, even in 1999).
Of course we´ll get the pictures when they want and in a year this post will be completely useless, but it´s a curious point that, I think, somebody has to say it... (well, others talk about stranger things)

Absolutely back you up. I'm a professional screenwriter and can confirm the average screenplay has between 150 to 200 scenes.
I suspect some people think every change of shot is a new scene, but this is not the case, plus in the film editing process scenes can be inter-cut more than they are in the screenplay, making appear as if there are more scenes in the finished picture.

Thanks Col.
To suggest that FYEO has a scene change, on average, every 10 seconds is just wrong.
I’d be willing to bet that Skyfall has somewhere in the region of 200 scenes.

Agreed. I'd assume that screenwriters have some level of consistency as to what constitutes a single scene in one of their scripts. Purvis & Wade churned out approximately 200 scenes for CASINO ROYALE and 170 for QUANTUM OF SOLACE, so I assume SKYFALL would follow a similar pattern.I’d be willing to bet that Skyfall has somewhere in the region of 200 scenes.

I hope not. It's Bond's personal car - it shouldn't be loaded with gadgets. My guess is that it's the same one from Casino and it's Bonds personal car. Q has put a few modifications on it, just for emergencies only.
What other site? MI6? They're hardly reliable. The other site says both Bond and M are in the car...
Although if Bond and M are in the car, it could be a good scene if Bond needs to evacuate M. Maybe from her apartment to a safehouse.

Maybe he's bribed Q to install or though, or stole some prototype equipment from Q Branch?

Just imagine: Albert Finney stages a mini-coup in MI6, removing M from power and ordering her death (possibly because of "Skyfall"). Bond, knowing that he is trapped in the city, must get M to safety. In exchange, she gives him what he needs to know about Skyfall and Finney's involvement in it, leading to the scene on top of the DECC where Bond hands the information on to Eve and uses it to buy safe passage out of the city so that he can hunt down Javier Bardem.

There is talk that M is in the car with Bond during the scene. If it is a car chase, as has been reported, then I'm willing to bet that the scene involves Bond trying to get M out of a dangerous situation - possibly escorting her from her apartment to a safehouse, or out of the city. In this case, having gadgets in the car would make sense ... but not having them would ramp up the tension as Bond and M are being hunted. He can't rely on gadgets to get him out of tight situations.

You´re the only one doing this (pragmatic speculation) with your feet on the ground Cap on all forums. For someone who considered staying spoiler free, I´m willing to bet you´ll leave the cinema in 11.12 feeling like you should have written the script yourself, considering you figured it out a year before And if that´s the case, for one, I´ll be glad, you´re theories add up and sound very plausibleWell, I'm just asking myself "what makes the most sense here?". I haven't actually seen any other speculation on other forums, except for the insane theory that the black box contains M's ashes.

But there were no helicopters involved in the shoot (that we know of).1 - EXT. - ROOFTOP - DAY
BOND BURSTS onto the rooftop, the BLACK BOX in hand. The sunlight is bright, and the stairwell so dark that he must shield his eyes from the glare, losing precious seconds. Bond is clearly expecting someone, but for now, the rooftop is deserted. He carefully sets the box down, draws his gun, and takes a moment to make sure it is loaded and ready to fire - completely unconcerned that death might come barrelling through the stairwell doorway at any moment.
We hear the dull sound of a HELICOPTER, somewhere in the distance, but drawing closer. Bond hears it, too. He looks up, and for the slightest of moments, relief flashes on his face. But then he is back to cool and dispassionate, watching the doorway.
The helicopter circles the building once, before pulling up to a halt just above the lip of the building. The SIDE DOOR is open, revealing EVE. She lets herself out and crosses the rooftop to meet Bond as the helicopter peels away. Bond presents the black box to her - but he does not let it go straight away.BOND
I hope you know what you're getting yourself into.
EVE
I knew what I was agreeing to when I signed up. I wouldn't be here otherwise.
BOND
Good. If you don't hear back from me (BEAT) well, you know what to do. Make sure this gets to the right people.
EVE
Any ideas on who 'the right people' might be?
BOND
That's up to you to work out.
Bond pulls her forward and kisses her. Eve resists at first, but then realises what is happening and kisses him back with just as much fervour.EVE
What was that for?
BOND
For luck.
He finally lets go of the box. Eve signals to the helicopter, which returns to the edge of the building. Bond watches her go, only turning away when the helicopter banks away. He fishes his phone from his jacket pocket and occupies himself with sorting through his contacts until he finds the one he wants - Albert Finney, though we do not see this. He dials the number.BOND
Mister Swansea. James Bond. I'll make this brief: I have a black box that belongs to you. If anyone ever knew what was inside--
He lets his voice trail off in a threadening manner.BOND
(cont'd)
It would be in your interests to see that I hold onto the box. For now.
