Great pics, but i have to say Craig isn't ageing well is he? A few more lines on his face than i remember were present in CR. I hope they can sort that out digitally...
I wonder what was in that box Harris was proffering?

I seriously doubt, they will feel the need to "mirage them away " From what i see, they are there at time and not at others...just like with the rest of us. What he portays is a killer, who isn't particularly adapted to a healthy life style. Get over it. Its just Bond, James Bond, not an add to a healthy life style mag. (..and Daniel Craig continues to live a full life, full of whatver...he never did anything else and it shows..)

I had a quick look at the pictures and for some reason, looking at it was scene 176 (near the end of the film I presume?), and Bond and 'Eve' (Moneypenny?) are wrapped up on a roof and he hands her a black box...

...and maybe this 'Eve' becoming Moneypenny who is/was M's secretary...

...maybe, call me crazy, but maybe the black box contains M's (Judi Dench) ashes from her death?

I don't know why I am convinced she dies but you never know! ;)

Oh! Now there's a thought. Good thinking. Eve giving Bond M's ashes. Perfect job for a secretary. Very interesting indeed.

Why the hell would they need M's ashes, which have been stored in a box as opposed to an urn, on a roof, in the middle of London?

Maybe it was M's favourite spot. ;)

I hope Bond doesn't scatter her ashes all over unknowing pedestrians.

Why on earth would you assume scene 176 was near the end of the film? For TLD 176 was about 20 minutes into the film - and OHMSS had 600 scenes...

The other thing that some people are doing is looking at the number on the clapperboard and declaring "Oh, it's scene xxx"

Not necessarily. It could refer to the slate number, which refers to the camera set up. And FYI, there are THOUSANDS of those for a film.

It's actually quite typical for an urn to be stored in a box very identical to that pictured especially while it's in transit. Of course, a lot of things can be stored in similar-looking boxes, so who knows?

Eve will scatter them and they'll blow back into Bond's face, an homage to the Deakins-shot Big Lebowski.

No need to lash out. Not everyone has the inside information on the entire canon of Bond slate/scene numbers that you do.

IIRC, the speculation came from the fact that scene 176 for CR was Bond waking up after the torture. Without any other frame of reference, fans assumed that this would be from SKYFALL's third act, depending on how long the film is.

Think of it -- civil servants arranging for their ashes to be scattered over Whitehall.

Could it be the start of a trend?

Where did these numbers come from? That’s an average of 4 scenes a minute, 4 scenes a page on OHMSS and as for TLD almost 9...

I suppose if they didn’t use annotations such as ‘Scene 37 G’ and 'Scene 172 E', as they are on Skyfall, that could lead to such high numbers.

Not necessarily. It could refer to the slate number, which refers to the camera set up. And FYI, there are THOUSANDS of those for a film.

That’s only when it says “Slate” not when it says “Scene”, as it does here.

Predicting that ‘Scene 172 E’ is in the last quarter of the film is a reasonable assumption.

The info I have is from call sheets and scripts. For instance - FYEO Aug 12 1980 script - 794 scenes.

Goldeneye 3rd draft 6 1 95 - 471 scenes. (and I just confirmed looking at a random GE call sheet - scene 444 is Bond and Natayla at Arecibo)

SWLM 7/1/77 586 scenes.

So you can go right ahead and predict that Scene 172 is in the last quarter of the film, but I wouldn't go banco on that.

Notice please that I said Scene 172 E and I wasn't the one predicting it, just saying it was a 'reasonable assumption'.

Based on my experience, I’ve found that anything between 90 and 200 or so scenes on a 2 hour plus film is about normal.

There are 205 scenes noted in the Casino Royale script. As the clapperboard glimpsed in the bottom picture on this page shows, scene 42 in the script was Bond driving in the Bahamas.

But it's all in how it's written. With the intercutting and following Dryden through the building, CR racked up 12 scenes just in the pre-title sequence. Clapperboard 4G.

You're all going to feel very silly when you see the film and realize they labelled the clapperboards backward just to throw you off.

Or, in a more prosaic observation, the scenes are not in the final edit.

Argh! Apologies for starting the scene debate...that was just me simply putting 2 and 2 together from the board and picture to make 4.5.

I felt with the plot about M's ashes (if she does die) that somehow, as Craig's Bond always does, he is responsible for them in some way being in MI6...or something anyway...and in a quiet, reflective place above London both Bond and Eve share a moment that may define or explain certain plot/character arcs.

Love all the speculation anyway from these teaser pics...probably all wrong anyway! ;)

My gut instinct is that the scene is towards the end of the movie, but clearly that could be very wrong.

Anyway, given the location, the one thing that we can deduce is that we should get a great shot from the top of the DECC along Whitehall towards the Houses of Parliament (assuming that the scene isn't cut...)

What a coincidence – I’ve just posted something about the view of The Houses of Parliament from up there, in response to your post in the other thread.

A bit of a forlorn hope that one. ;)

Ps, I wasn’t guessing, it was a direct quote from Craig.

What about Brozza? The man may be a pretty boy, but why do you think he had the long hair over his ears in the first place. Take a look at the size of his antennas.

I guess Bond has big ears :D
