Quite right, Shrublands. I'd originally hoped to stir up a little lighthearted discussion about the location of Bond's flat, but I guess what I said was taken as a complaint about the film. Anyway, as you point out, Fleming never specified a specific location for the flat, and the scattered clues he did provide fail to correspond to any of the squares off the King's Road in Chelsea. The two most likely candidates are Wellington Square and Markham Square, and Wellington Square has been chosen by Pearson, Gary Giblin (James Bond's London), and John Griswold (Ian Fleming's James Bond, Annotations and Cronologies) as being as likely a location as any. Both Griswold and Giblin acknowledge that none of the candidates fit the description exactly, though Giblin comments that "the Wellington Square address has caught on with the editors of both general and specıalıst London guidebooks . . ."
They appear not to recall that Bond's flat is in Wellington Square.
Fleming never actually said it was Wellington Sq. John Pearson came up with that one for the ‘Biography’ based on the general description and directions in the Fleming novels.
It’s as good a choice as any, but Fleming described a bay window and none of the buildings in Wellington Sq have bay windows.
Others have said it must be Markham Sq or even Royal Avenue.
So, I think it’s just as legitimate for the filmmakers to use Cadogan Sq.
So far as I know, nobody has nominated Cadogan Square for Bond's flat, though, as Captain Tightpants has pointed out, it's in the right general area. One thing's for sure -- if it appears as the location of Bond's flat in "Skyfall," it's going to take that role hereafter!

Very glad you didn’t take my post as a criticism. Yes, a bit of debate with people throwing in what they know/think was what I was aiming at too :-)

Sounds about right - shooting on the Vauxhall Bridge and around Parliament Sqaure shows M is travelling to Vauxhall Cross from the general area around Whitehall. That slate is from Whitehall or Parliament Square, I'd say. It's probably all part of the same sequence anyway.

Just saw some filming of the new Bond film on Waterloo Bridge. Maybe I'll be in the film, credited as 'Nosy Walking Man'?

New tweet: "James Bond filming outside my office. Dame Judy Dench in a Range Rover."
No indication of where in London this is though.
They are back in Parliament Square this afternoon. Friend of mine just texted to say he cycled past Judi Dench in a range rover with camera attached

There's a big massive grey brick wall in the new Bond film. You heard it here first people.
Perhaps it's the same we saw in the picture I posted the early days of December.
They're filming in Westminster now:

This is becoming tedious. How much footage of M and Tanner riding around in cars can they possibly need?
Yes, much has been made of all the London location work they are doing, but by my reckoning three quarters of it at least is Dench riding around in a car.

Bad guys on the run?
Let the new Jaguar Skyfall drift you away through wet and weary London, light as air and twice as fast!"

It’s just that everything they do outside the studio seems to involve Dench in a car.
And this has been constant for the best part of four months.
Driving Miss Denchy.

Is Dame Judi Dench the woman who is seduced by 007 by the swimming pool then? It’s just that everything they do outside the studio seems to involve Dench in a car.
And this has been constant for the best part of four months.
Is she the person whom Bond is chasing through the streets of London?
Is Judi Dench driving the hearses in the funeral scene in Greenwich maybe ?
Is Dame Judi in the box which Eve passes to Bond on the DECC rooftop?
Is she the girl who is drinking with Bond at the cocktail party?
I'm just joking, obviously. But let's be objective: they let us to see only what they want us to see.

I know, I’m exaggerating to be a bit provocative.
However, thinking about your list.
Bond chases someone through the streets of London – Sequence climaxes with Dench being driven off at speed in a Jag.
I bet Dench goes to the funeral in a black limo.
We know Dench has been filmed driving past the DECC building.
That just leaves seductions at cocktail parties and swimming pools - No room for cars there anyway.

Surely the second unit MUST be in Turkey by now, preparing for Daniel Craig's arrival to film all the (pre-titles??) action out there, if he isn't already out there ?? I would presume so since it was made known that filming would commence late February and last approx 3 months.. I hope we have some eagle-eyed reporters out in the Istanbul region who might be able to snap a few hidden shots for us..LOL
Not if this is correct and I somewhat believe, he is still here. He was for sure over the weekend.

My guess, judging by the amount of footage they've shot of those two in the vehicle, is that this is the first major set piece following the PTS. It must be an action sequence of some sort.
