Vauxhall, can you confirm scene 27??

Yep, I can confirm there was a crew member holding a clapperboard saying 27H. Unless it was a massive diversionary tactic in case a Bond fan was walking by, I think we're okay to assume that was the scene number!

Also, unless anyone can actually vouch for there being a car chase today, I think it was only a car dialogue scene between M and Tanner that was filmed.

Judi Dench spotted filming on Vauxhall Bridge this morning. (Not by me, I should add!)

Okay folks, here's what I can confirm about yesterdays shoot:

- Filming started about 8:30am - Millbank between Lambeth Bridge and Vauxhall Bridge was closed off for the production.
- No filming going on elsewhere, such as Whitehall, from what I saw despite the warnings on the TFL website.
- Battersea Power Station being used as the base.
- This was 1st unit work - Sam Mendes, Roger Deakins, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson all on set.
- Initial shooting (which said scene 27) were of a speeding Jaguar with blue flashing police lights weaving through the traffic heading in the direction of Vauxhall Bridge - not a 'car chase', just trying to get somewhere quickly.
- The other vehicles, such as the bus, were not integral to the action.
- Later dialogue scenes inside the Jaguar - Rory Kinnear and Judi Dench on set, but not Daniel Craig (bear in mind this stretch of road is I guess 1/4 mile on a bend so it was really hard to find a position to see everything that was going on).
- Kinnear and Dench both seated in the rear of the Jaguar - I was told one was reading a paper, one with a laptop.
- After shooting wrapped on these scenes at about 5pm, the cameras headed a little further towards Vauxhall Bridge to shoot the MI6 building over the water - water was sprayed to make it look like it was raining.
- Lights were set up at the MI6 building to illuminate it a little more (no filming taking place there from what I saw).
- I was told that today (Sun 12th), the Jaguar would be filmed heading over Vauxhall Bridge towards the MI6 building, but I guess we'll hear more on that later.
- The crew are apparently heading out to Turkey in April.

I'm guessing, like others have suggested, that the second unit will go to Turkey late February/early March, and the main unit will join in April. Perhaps they've decided to try and complete all the Pinewood scenes first, and the shoot will wrap in Turkey.

If they have the Scotland scenes scheduled for Mid-March - about 4 weeks from now - it seems more likely (but not certain) that the main unit will stay in the UK for any remaining exterior London scenes and studio work, then move up to Scotland, before moving the entire main unit to Turkey. So the 2nd Unit could be doing exterior shots in Turkey during this period until the main unit arrives.

Once the main unit have shot in Turkey - for a month or so - they would return to Pinewood in mid-May to wrap up the remaining studio scenes. But this is just an informed guess and what would seem to be a logical way to schedule the filming.

They will most likely ultimately wrap up back at Pinewood for any remaining studio work - green screen driving scenes, Int. train (to match in with the exterior Turkey action), possibly the Int. Manor House action - because it (nearly) always makes more sense to shoot the exterior location action first, then match the action (explosions, impacts on house etc.) of that exterior action with the Interior scenes back on a Pinewood stage.

Friend tells me they're filming in Stratford today. Will try to find out more

...Stratford, east London site of the olympic stadium for those not aware. May be trying to incorporate some structures into background, also has canary wharf in background. Lot of the site still under construction although most venues completed already.

Thanks Col. Sun. Not too excited about this prospect, as it seems to mean the least amount of location work since DAD. Well, I guess it will be wait and see...

Not really. They've done tons of London exterior shooting. The main point is that this film is heavily set in the UK rather than globe-trotting. Personally I love this - I've always wanted to see a Bond film make great dramatic use of London and the UK.

When I worked on LTK, after we had finally finished (sound mix, grading, censors etc.) we were sat around Tom Pevsner's office (in Pinewood Mansion) drinking up the last bottles of product placement champagne (very nice) and we started to chat about where the next film could be set. I suggested they stay in the UK for as much as possible because for an international audience the UK and London are very exciting and unique. I think I got quite a few odd looks like I was talking rubbish, so I shut my mouth and carried on enjoying the champagne. But now, after all these years, they are finally doing a Bond story mostly set in our Great Britain. And I'm not suggesting for one moment it has anything to do with my suggestion all those years ago - but I'm very glad they are doing it.

Sky News certainly appear to be aware of the filming. Another of their journalists tweeted a picture of yesterday's filming.

Judi Dench is due at the Baftas this afternoon. Busy day for her.

Don't think there are any confirmed sightings of Daniel Craig on set today. I certainly didn't see him - just Dench and Kinnear again.

On the subject of Rory Kinnear, only learnt today that Judi Dench's husband was Kinnear's godfather.
