M's past comes back to haunt her, Bond and her find themselves at Bond's family as-state. Maybe SF is a emotional link between to two.

M had Silva put away a few years ago. He’s a deeply dangerous individual, but M used him for information, with promises of immunity (the big picture). Then she double-crossed him and shoved him in a top-security prison all the same.
Something happens that lets him escape which leads to a massive revenge attack on MI6 with many lost lives.
Mallory’s reaction is that she has completely misjudged the situation and this man. Bond finds himself reminded of what she planned for Le Chiffre and (at first at least) agrees with Mallory’s position.

Agreed. It sounds about right.I like the sound of that a lot. Wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be the case. I think you've hit the nail on the head, Shrublands.

I'm looking forward to all these suspected links and plot themes we're trying to crack, see how close (or far away!) we are.

M doesn't die in Skyfall, but she is forced to retire when all that bourbon she's been chugging takes its toll on her. Those aren't her ashes that Bond and Eve scatter on the London rooftop, but the cremated remains of her liver.
M appears once more in a film about her experiences in rehab, titled 'Die Another 28 Days.'

I can't completely remember what did M plan for Le Chiffre? Perhaps those photos that look like Mallory and Bond are having a shoot-out, is Mallory mistrusting Bond because of his connection to M and Bond convincing Mallory of his innocents.I think it goes something like this –

“I won't miss next time, Mr. Silva,” says Bond as he steps from the shadows, his pistol leveled at Silva.
“Not bad, James – for a physical wreck,” responds Silva.
“Why, thank you,” says Bond, ever the gentleman.
“You called me, now here's your prize,” continues Silva. “It's the latest thing from my local toy store – it's called a radio.”
The scene concluded with Silva holding up a radio in his hand.
THAT is an interesting tidbit. Either Bardem is taking a dig at Bond's physique (sort of talking up his own), or Bond is in rough shape for this film. We've seen him exercising in the pool and I believe one of the call sheets states that early on he goes for a run, so maybe we're to believe that after the PTS, Bond takes some serious time off, and comes back a bit rusty.

Awful writing. Though it might sound better on-screen but...

Nothing wrong with that dialogue in the least in my opinion..very sinister! Can't wait to see it on screen...
Really? I think it sounds corny. But hey, i'm sure Mendes will get a fantastic performance out of an actor of Bardem's ability so fingers crossed it sounds sinister on screen!

“You called me, now here's your prize,” continues Silva.
I reckon they've misheard that line, and it should be: "You caught me, now here's your prize."

I'm sure it will be fine. Literally everyone involved wouldn't be this excited if the script wasn't great.

You're probably right there, Coming Soon, who were also there, report it as - "Now that you got me, here's your prize."

- Bond wants Silva alive
- Silva knows Bond´s name

The dialogue is fine right up until Silva says: "You called me, now here's your prize....it's the latest thing from my local toy store- it's called a radio."
Awful writing. Though it might sound better on-screen but...
I don’t think the reporters heard the whole exchange. I think Silva says something like...
“Now here's your prize - it's the latest thing from my local toy store - it's called a radio controlled train set.”
The radio triggers the bomb and one gigantic explosion later, a whole Tube train tears through the roof of the catacomb.

- Silva knows Bond´s name
Yeah, which possibly suggests some kind of history between the two of them.
Perhaps Silva was a Mathis-type ally of Bond's in the past?

Was the same scene? It´s difficult to believe twice Bond has Silva and twice Silva escapes with an explosion...
