I love that Teaser. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Don't know why I'm so excited about this 'Star Trek'. I think I've just missed some proper good sci-fi action at the cinema recently, and the first teaser with Cumberbatch sold it to me. He has the making to be a great Trek villain, especially with that voice!

I wonder, could Cumberbatch in Into Darkness be seen as an audition by Babs and Michael for the villain of Bond 24?

I wouldn't say no if he's as good as he seems in 'STID'.

And as a British actor, he'll have a good chance at getting on the cast list I reckon!

1st 2 Countdown Issues are out, extended footage shown in Brazil reveals a spoiler (I was wrong on my spoiler guess).

Also, on the toy front all it seems we will get is the Kre-O toys. My guess is Hasbro is biding time to see if an action figure line is warranted, but I cannot imagine them passing up a chance to do a major toy line-as long as it looks nothing like the Iron Man 3 line with only the basic 5 points of articulation. Trekkers deserve a good toy line, and I hope we see a Star Wars type action figures for this (with tons oaf articulation) in a 3.75 and 6 inch line.

I think the film should be renamed 'Star Trek Into Frowning' after these...

New international trailer out...

http://www.empireonl...y.asp?NID=36880

... and it looks delicious!

Cumberbatch may have THE greatest voice for a villain next to Darth Maul, and Alice Eve in her underwear needs to be paused a few times.

And certainly great to see and hear our own RoboCop, Peter Weller, back on screen with that inimitable voice! I hope he says "Dead or alive you're coming with me!" at least once in the film! ;)

But it looks very dramatic, a little bit cliched ("A Hero Will Rise") but very dark and action-packed. Can't wait for this!

I love this trailer.

This, "Man of Steel" and "The Wolverine" are the potential blockbusters I really want to see this year.

Definitely looks good. Alice Eve in her undies is lovely as always and Cumberbatch looks downright scary.

Also, new info and footage from the Star Trek game with the Gorn as villains. Nice to see them portrayed far more realistically.

Certainly not, but then again, was 'Skyfall' our father's James Bond? It's funny seeing how a much loved franchise has to change so much to keep up with the demand and culture of cinema viewers.

seems like Star trek kind of copy the theme of Dark knight rises and Skyfall........revenge! good vs evil who will fall etc.....

But I trust Abrams. I´m looking forward to STID.

Just booked my ticket for the 3D showing at Odeon Cinemas at 00.01 Thursday 9th May!

Excited? A little!  :D

I've not done a midnight screening since 'Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith' back in 2005.

Must be something in the stars that makes me do it...literally!

I want to see this film, too, and I do believe Abrams is a great director.

But I am a little sad that the marketing obviously thinks: "let´s hide the fact that this is a Star Trek movie!"

I agree somewhat - it's lost the 'Star Trek' vibe in the poster campaign. More character based, rather than iconic (as most posters seem to be, selling the stars rather than the film as a whole).

At least the trailers do it justice.

I haven't posted here lately, been too busy burning the image of Alice Eve into my mind. Damn!

Countdown Into Darkness Issue 4, the final issue, comes out tomorrow. If you haven't read this I strongly advise you to do so.

This Thursday April 25th at select theaters the Star Trek: The Next Generation 2 parter "The Best of Both Worlds" will be screened that night only to preview the season 3 blu-ray release. I don't know what special features will be shown, but since these are my 2 favorite episodes I have already got my ticket.

Also the TPB of Countdown Into Darkness should already be out, swing by your local comic book or local book seller to get it.

IGN's review of Star Trek: Into Darkness it, they gave it 8/10. Praised Cumberbatch loads, thought that some of the characters didn't have much to do, apart from one liners. They loved the action too, apparently it's pretty non-stop.

Wow, that looks intense! Every one of the actors on that crew have captured the original character they perform to perfection, just from this clip alone down to the accents, the power in their voices and expressions. Thanks for posting that.

I wonder if this really will be almost a redone 'Wrath Of Khan', and will Mr.Spock come to some sort of open ended demise where we will go to the next film as 'The Search For Spock'? So many exciting possibilities!

And how much lens flare was there in the first 10 seconds alone?!  :P

Thanks for posting that review Ace! Sounds perfect to me...!  :D

The clip is fun and alludes to the way they obviously toy with the ideas of KHAN.

The review, while positive, makes me wonder: now that Abrams wants to appeal more to the Trekkers (something he was criticized for not doing enough with the first one) the reviewer finds this dubious? And the reviewer hoping for something more cerebral... well, STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE did that and still gets hate for that.
