Well, I'm getting pretty tired of the attempts to rehash on Goldeneye. It was a great game, but enough already.

Agreed. A brand new game - not a remake, is probably now on the back burner in favour of putting another coat of paint on an old war horse. Exclusive to Wii owners. Nothing new for next generation console owners. Ugh.

That's not how game development works. They are independent projects- no resources would've been diverted from one to the other. The only impact it might have is whether Activision want to bring two Bond games to the market in similar timeframes, but even then I doubt it as they would be marketing to different platforms.

By the way, first impressions: http://au.wii.ign.co.../1097593p1.html

I have a Wii, but I'm not going to get this game.

Not because I think it'll be bad....but...let me put it this way, I'm stuck on about the 6th level on Mario, I can't get past the 1st level on Disney's 'UP' and I constantly crash in Ferrari Challenge.

I'll have my work cut out

But I'm pretty good at table tennis at wii sports resort. B)

Hey, maybe the next game will be a remake of Everything or Nothing! B)

hey everything or nothing was pretty good just without the nanotech stuff could of been taken out along with the invisible and the tanks aswell but it was pretty good of trying to be like a movie. I would be open for a remake but more relistic instead of peirce brosnan furturist crap

It's on the website under details. Also where it says that Daniel Craig voices Bond in the game.

On the official website, check out the story segment. It sounds nothing like the film, so I'm assuming they just kept some of the moments for nostalgia sake. Some of the concept art looks different as well.

Augmented reality? You think the Goldeneye story will be a training simulation for Craig's Bond?

Now, you might feel a little robbed that Daniel Craig is taking over for Pierce Brosnan, and the game's scenario has been almost completely rewritten. According to Activision, GoldenEye 007 is a reimagining of the GoldenEye story, just as Casino Royale shook things up with a much more gritty version of the James Bond character. GoldenEye still retains the basics of GoldenEye's story, but retells it in a way that makes sense with Daniel Craig's interpretation of James Bond.

Wow, this is really quite a strange thing. Has anything like this ever happened in the Bond universe? GoldenEye was in itself a modern redefinition of Bond. So now we redefine the redefinition? Having trouble getting my head around this.

Is this really a better idea than an original game, especially if you have Bruce Feirstein writing?

Calling it "Goldeneye" will boosts sales the way a new title wouldn't.

Well, yes, that's obviously the thinking, but will it really? Did the GoldenEye name help Rogue Agent? And this conjures, for me at least, memories of the FRWL game rather than the original GoldenEye. A weird hybrid trading on the past.

I think a cool new Bond game, another EoN, properly marketed, would do every bit as well as a GoldenEye remake. Give the Craig generation a Craig game, not a retooled Brosnan game with Craig slipped in. Activsion was supposed to break new ground. This does not feel like anything new. But, maybe the game play will be awesome. Guess that's all that matters in the end.

The name will boost sales because it is being marketed as a remake of the N64 game, which we now know it only kind of is. Rogue Agent was marketed as a new game, even though it had the Goldeneye name. That's the difference, I think. But I also think gamers are savvy enough to not fall for it, and I predict Goldeneye won't do near as well as Activision hopes it will.

I wonder what the NDS section is for? I assume it would mean a DS version of the game, but I thought it was a Wii exclusive.

BTW, the site has the Nintendo DS logo in there, so it's not "exclusive for Wii", apparently!

I just read that this is the best FPS for the Wii in terms of gameplay and graphics -according to impresions- and I've just seen some multiplayer footage which looks very, very nice, but of course is not our old Goldeneye.

I will definitely buy this of course B)

Me too! You can already see some differences from the video--it appears Bond executes his bungee dive in the rain and with Soviet(?) agents coming up behind him.

Goldeneye was the best game i had ever played, but why remake it when there are so many Bond movies that have never been games? And why put Craig in it?
