Suppose Daniel Craig will be back as 007, for how many films would you wish to see him back?

It seems like some people out there don't share our optimism about Craig starring in the next film!

http://www.esquire.c...ames-bond-actor

Ouch, that is a lazy list of lazy choices.

And the laziest choice, Jon Hamm! Oh, God!

Sam Worthington??? Someone needs to be punched in the face. Repeatedly.

I'd agree that it's a weak list - but I wouldn't say Worthington would be a bad choice. He's definitely the best choice out of the ones put forward in the article.

I'd go with Bale if I had to choose one. He's got the whole package. OK, except from the voice.

I'm kinda stumped about who I want to see as number 7. Of the current crop of actors in their thirties to early forties, there isn't anyone that seems to stand out as an acceptable Bond. I think Christian Bale has some suitability but I really cannot see him taking part in another major franchise after Batman and Terminator.

I wouldn't mind Guy Pearce, personally.

Clive Owen: Too cerebral

Surely not.

Out of that list I would probably go for Guy Pearce. I'm amazed his name hasn't come up more before, to be honest. He's eminently suitable, if not very exciting. I can only assume that those who suggest Sam Worthington haven't seen Clash of the Titans. I'm not sure he should ever be allowed in a film again. Shudder.

Michael Fassbender or Tom Hardy would be fine choices.

I could get behind Tom Hardy. In many interpretations of the phrase.

Really, 007! I did suggest Hardy a while back but that was before he was cast as the new Mad Max, and they're making at least two of those, so EON probably wouldn't want a guy already known for being a different action series character, and he may be a too obvious choice because of it by the time Craig hangs up the tux. So it's probably a case of "That's it chum - you're out of it" with Tom Hardy right now.

I agree. Sadly. Hardy has exactly the right balance of talent, physicality and masculine appeal to take over from someone like Craig without seeming like a downgrade, but would be different enough to put his own spin on the part.

There is something very viable about Tom Hardy. He was/is allegedly a bit of a wild card though and that would not sit well with the ambassadorial nature of the role.

Hardy also has a playful nature to him as evidenced in Inception.

However, my ultimate choice would be Fassbender but he's going to be Magneto in the new xmen films.

What news that Craig may well be out of the BOnd role are they referring to?????

And I agree, this is a boring and generic list of candidates, sounds more like 1994.

I remember back when Casino Royale was in production and they were looking for a new Bond, my top choice was Ioan Gruffudd, but now... I can see NO ONE except Daniel Craig as Bond!

I don't want to think of anyone taking over.

DC will be around for the next 2 films.
2011 and 2013

Then it would be sensible to look for the new Bond with a 'nod' to Jefffery Deaver's re-boot.
Younger and fresher, maybe than the silhouette we put the current actors through

I understand that Tom Hardy is practically auditioning for Bond in Inception; is that right?

1. Damian Lewis

Very very interesting choice there! Unfortunately I haven't seen him in anything outside of his starring role in NBC's Life. But I think he has a definite presence about him.

He's great, but he shouldn't be Bond: he's a natural The Saint!

Still hoping for an unknown Scottish actor that looks between Dalton and Ian's commissioned drawing.

And please keep Christan Bale away from Bond. I'm very sick and tired of him.

I sincerely don't want to see Craig as Bond again.

I think Richard Armitage is perfect for the role. No doubt about that.

A CGI Sean Connery.

This.

They have not found Connery's equal and I doubt they ever will. Can't wait for the time when his face is scanned on an actor with his early Bond stature and his voice is replicated electronically. We are not there yet technologically, but we'll get there hopefully in my lifetime.

Anyone but Henry Cavill.

About Armitage, he still has no lips. Otherwise he would look the part. Hell, maybe they can shoot Botox into his lips for the role.

Fleming's Bond is described as having thin, cruel lips. Armitage succeeds on that regard.

That describes Connery perfectly. Armitage, however has practically NO lips.

Cavill will never be right for the role. Even when he's older, he'll still be doe-eyed and button-nosed, with a broad, open face - hardly "saturnine". He looks like Yuri Gagarin. The actor who plays Bond should look like a carnivore, not an herbivore.

Nobody thought Leonardo Di Caprio would ever look anything but baby-faced. It's amazing what a few facial lines and loss of baby moisture does to a man's look of maturity after 30.

Still saying they can never duplicate Connery for the role of James Bond. But this guy could be the closest fit.
