Can his homosexuality be an inconvenient for the role. For me it's not a problem, but James Bond is a phantasm for women who would like to be loved by 007 et for men who want to look like Bond wearing the same clothes or buying the same watch...

But you understand that the character Bond would still be straight, right?

Luke+Evan+LA+Times+Magazine+4.jpg

Luke Evans should be in consideration in my opinion. I don't care if he is bisexual, does anyone think it will make a big difference today, or in 2018 or whenever the next Bond actor comes out? 40, 30, 20, even 10 years ago I understand. I just honestly can't see people really caring that much in today's world. I live in a very conservative part of the United States too and I don't see very many people caring if he were to get the role. I could see it being a little bit of a problem if the actor was flamboyantly effeminate, but the guy seems as suave and manly as anyone offstage.

He's a good actor (both theater and film), 6 feet tall, Welsh, 33 years old.

I mentioned Evans in this thread a while ago...I completely agree he would make a great Bond!

Yep, and everyone just automatically dismissed him, which is why I brought it up again.

Damian Lewis would like to shake up the James Bond films - by becoming the first red-haired actor to play the legendary secret agent.

Skyfall, the latest flick starring Daniel Craig, delved into Bond's Scottish roots and Damian thinks it's created a good opportunity for him to take over the role.

‘It's paving the way perfectly for a red-headed Bond!'

‘As he now has Scottish heritage - I can't believe they worked that in especially for me.'

April's fool, no ?

Not convinced at all by Lewis

I am curious to see how Mark Ryder will age. He is a powerful and enigmatic actor. Will not fit for Bond 7, but maybe for 8

Pierce Brosnan Backs Colin Salmon To Play Rolehttp://www.huffingto..._n_3070700.html

Is this supposed to be a joke from Brosnan or something? Well obviously there is no chance whatsoever for Salmon to take the part. Not because he lacks talent, or he's black but quite obviously because he was involved in 3 films.

I would like for Bond 7 to do his first 2 films back to back like Moore did with LALD (73) and TMWTGG (74), I understand that is wishful thinking though.

Girvan: I want to play James Bond

Rory Girvan has revealed he would fancy stepping into Daniel Craig's Bond shoes when he decides to step down.

"One day, I wouldn't mind playing James Bond. I've always loved James Bond from when I was a kid. I've always practised those infamous lines in front of the mirror - and I still do it," said the 25-year-old.

"I've tried to perfect 'shaken, not stirred' and of course, I always practise, 'The name's Bond, James Bond'. The Bond films have got the politics side of it that I am interested in. And hopefully, one day, when it's the right time, I'd love to do it.

"If they want someone to play the young James Bond now, then I'm ready!" he added.

Henry Cavill harbours Bond dreams

"What a wonderful challenge to follow up Daniel Craig," the star told Empire magazine. "He has set the bar so high."

Now that he is Superman I think its even more unlikely that Henry Cavill will play Bond. He is 29 now and I would hope they would go with someone younger for Bond 7, I mean DC still has 2 films left, so I would think whoever plays Bond would be in their early 20s right now.

My feelings are that Cavill is still the front runner. Even if his star caliber has risen significantly since 2005.

Actors that should have played James Bond  flickering myth 8 May 2013

For the last 50 years, the James Bond franchise has produced some of the best action / adventure movies in cinema and those that were fortunate to land the role of James Bond have went on to become icons of film. Casino Royale has the distinction of being one of the top casino movies of all-time and other films such as Goldfinger and Dr. No, and others are considered cult classic.  Daniel Craig has certainly made the role of James Bond his own, but there are some other actors that we would love to see take on the role of 007.

Jason Statham
The star of films such as The Transporter, The Italian Job, Crank, War and The Expendables has that perfect balance of rugged good looks and kick ass fighting skills that you would want out of James Bond.  Who needs suave when you can beat a man to death with his bare hands and we all know that Statham wouldn't have any problem getting any on screen Bond girl that he wanted.
David Tennant
Doctor Who fan girls, and boys, would certainly flock to any Bond film starring the 10th Doctor.  Tennant already had a pseudo-Bond look during his stint as the Doctor and Tennant would actually bring a bit of range in regards to acting to the part. Tennant is handy with a sword and a sonic screwdriver, but can we get used to seeing the Doctor with a gun
Shermar Moore
Is the world ready for a black James Bond?  If so, then Shermar Moore could certainly fit the part.  Already known for his part of Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, Moore already had the good looks and can certainly pull off the charm needed to make the Bond girls swoon.  In addition, he would be the perfect for the action and fighting sequences needed.  If Will Smith can play Jim West, why can't Shermar Moore play James Bond.
Hugh Laurie
Paging Dr. Bond!  Laurie became a superstar with his role of Dr. Gregory House and proved that he has the range needed to pull off Bond.  Cleaned up, the Oxford native has the right mix of charm and class needed to pull of the role.  The question remains whether he has the ability to pull of the big fight scenes needed to be James Bond.

There is a Facebook page titled Jason Isaacs Would Make A Brilliant James Bond. But the man himself isn't convinced.

"Dan [Craig] and I played lovers for a year in Angels in America so I'm intimately acquainted with James Bond in ways that not many men can say," he deadpans. "I think he's fantastic. He was born to be Bond. I'll be on my Zimmer frame before he gives up on being Bond."

But Isaac admits he wouldn't mind being a Bond villain. What kind of baddie would he be? There's a twinkle in his eye. "That's the exciting thing about my job," he says. "Far smarter people come up with great stories and I get all the credit."

If you could play one role – theatre or film – who would it be?

If I could play one role it would have to be James Bond. It's always been a boyhood dream. Fast cars, nice suits and beautiful woman.....not hard to see why.

I actually could imagine that, too. Especially now that he has slimmed down and is no longer blond anymore. A bit bulking up and he could be pretty good.

Still the only realistic nominee i've seen in this whole thread is Cavill and that's now very unlikely to happen.
