Even Craig himself wants everybody to forget that interview now.

So, let´s just put it behind us, okay? Craig was exhausted, not in the mood for an interview. He recently said Bond is the best job he can think of.

He will be back.

Sure, but he can't get those words back...

Oh my...

Some people have always made much more of these comments than they were good for. Few people are happy with their jobs 24/7, everybody has a bad day at times. And since some believe his extraordinary paycheque should have prevented Craig from saying such: payment doesn't figure at all in that context. Millionaires - billionaires - have been known to say worse, repeatedly, on a daily basis. Didn't do them much harm, evidently.

What we forget is, Craig got asked that same stupid question whether he wants to return probably 60 times that day. The 59 times he responded 'yes, of course, when we've had a bit of a break' didn't get reported much. That one time comment got spread all over the place.

I know a few people, not many but a few, who repeat their stupid ideas not once or twice but every time they get the chance.

Let's do the sensible thing and get a little perspective here...

What SAF and Dustin said. It was single, Ill thought out comment that slimy tabloid journalists repeated endlessly for over a year.

Well said. The comments never bothered me because I knew the correct context. It's old and irrelevant news now as you said.

If he come's back, i can't forget that "wrist" & "money" interview.

Imagine you've just crossed the finish line of an epic marathon in which you ran your guts outs to come first. The moment you cross the line a reporter sticks a mic in your face and asks....

"Are you looking forward to the next marathon?"

I think that under such circumstances Craig was far more diplomatic than i'd have managed (perhaps a curt 'F**K off' as i pushed the reporter out of the window!)

And besides, easy talking - media grovelling etiquette is not high on my requirements for a actor who portrays Bond.

You might counter, 'But it's all acting, so why couldn't he just have been 'professional'?'   Well i'm sure he had been for the 237 interviews that proceeded it.

I like Craig's dangerous, slightly irascible edginess - it's a major factor in what made him a great Bond - and i'm positive that this attribute is only possible because the man himself possesses a modicum of that trait. Long may he not suffer fools gladly.

Also, and one cannot stress this enough: this is all about an actor playing a role in a movie.

Still anybody feeling outraged?

Couldn't agree more with everyone on Craig's side here. If anything, his 'slip-up' shows that's he's human... and I'd much rather have a man like that playing Bond than a Hollywood schmuck.

Let's not rule out the possibility that Craig was/is sick and tired of Bond.

Let's not rule out the possibility that Craig was/is sick and tired of Bond.

He had a pretty good chance to say so and be done with all the trouble that comes with it, being asked countless times the same over and over again. He didn't seize that opportunity, so I would say on balance he's still interested enough to look at it a little further down the road. Especially since that can easily be another year during which they all can get some fresh air and a change of perspective.

As long as nobody else has the job it's still his.

Tom Brittney "Outlander" "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool" work's with BB right now, he reminds me little bit of Henry Cavill...

With regard to the 26 year old Tom Brittney -- do you mean, for a Young Bond film ?

No, but after Bond 25 he has a perfect age for the role.

Agewise I think a younger actor could work very well in the role - provided he comes across as sufficiently experienced and authoritative to convince as Bond. Much has been made of Lazenby's age in OHMSS, but the simple fact was he came across several years more senior than he actually was. I don't really see that with Brittney.

One of the names the tabloids used to throw around briefly was James McAvoy, who will turn 40 in 2019 - and will likely still not look like 40 in 2030.

Sorry, for me that's wrong for Bond.

McAvoy's swagger would make him a great Bond - the guy exude confidence and unpredictability and he can act t'boot. But at (apparently) barely 5ft7inch he might be under the radar.

Oh I don't at all doubt his general qualities - although I haven't seen him in anything remotely connected to a tough or violent character; he always seems to have a 'brainy' side to his roles - I simply think he would look too young. He'd probably look too young even at 50. For me, that is.

Watch the movie  'Filth'  2013  (from the Irvine Welsh novel).

The film is ok, but McAvoy's performance as a corrupt drug addicted policeman is very entertaining, very tough and very dark.

Think Bad Lieutenant meets Trainspotting.

I watched High-Rise with an eye to judging Hiddleston's Bond potential, but in fact it was Evens whom made a far greater impact in that regard. Tough, charismatic and knows how to own a scene.
