Personally, I am not convinced he´s got the right commanding voice.

It's solid, watch "Hitman: Agent 47"...

No, let me rephrase that: "MISALA1994", are you entirely sure this is really the place for you?

Because I have my doubts...

On a lighter note - colleagues of mine were mentioning Kit Harrington for the part. IMO not well suited - too moody and it's hard to detect a sense of humour from him. Thoughts?

I unfortunately have only seen his Game of Thrones and Call of Duty work, which are very similar roles, so I can't comment on his range, but he does have a knack for holding attention in a scene going purely by those two.

Kit showed in the Spooks movie that he's a long way to go before leading such a franchise (though i love his work in Thrones). Not sure how tall he is, but he appears to be very short on screen and perception is everything. Good luck to the guy though - he own's Thrones.

Pretty much my thoughts. He's not ready for a role like Bond.

After seeing A Robber´s Tale I´d say Luke Evans (37)
https://roobla.com/w.../luke-evans.jpg

He is a openly gay.

I´m sorry, I´ve just seen this. Been away for awhile. You know, life. But I just can´t keep quiet about this...so...

I guess, MISALA1994, you were born in 1994? That would make you what? 22 going on 23? And you have the nerve to interject in that fashion? I won´t give you the light of day on this, I´ll just say this, shame on you. Bigotry at the highest level. And your flash comments aren´t on par with the quality maintained in these forums. Shame on you. Have the decency of making yourself scarce for a while and comeback with a renewed attitude, Mr., cause you have lost respect on these parts.

Gentlemen, I think we'll all much more enjoy the discussion when you separate this part and continue it in private.

On a related note: is there anything wrong with the forum on your end, 'MISALA'? Seems you have trouble getting off posts without having to edit them, strange occurrence.

Interesting thread from MI6: "How should the next actor to play Bond and is there anything new he could bring to the role"?

My answer: no.

Not unless the character will be changed considerably.  Which I would not prefer.

How about a mix of Moore & Craig...

Light hearted with a long look at what makes Bond tick - Basically what Brosnan was trying to do.

Given this series is an adaptation of a specific character, none of the actor have done anything new per se, as they're trying to create a character dreamt up in someone else's head. All an actor can really do is emphasize certain parts of Fleming's character that jumped out at them in the books (such as Moore always finding the idea that Bond is a very good killer, but never enjoyed killing informed the character most) Bond is Bond, to "bring something new" would be imbuing him with characteristics that Fleming didn't give him and make him a different character - which is kind of making the idea of playing James Bond redundant.

You are right, but the bottom line is that Bond 7 have to bring a more humour back to the role and the series.

I would perhaps like to phrase it differently: I feel there ought to be a return of fun to the series, ideally with BOND 25. Regardless, when and with whom that is going to be made.

Take for example a look at OHMSS - that was at least partially intended as template for SPECTRE - the entire film is heavily influenced by a joyride-approach, girls and sets and beautiful scenery in abundance. An approach that doesn't undermine the white-knuckle action (though the stockcar race is borderline) which closely follows the book. Literally the only element to pin it down as 'serious' is the ending. A return of this particular mindset would be greatly welcome.

OHMSS indeed is a great example for what is lacking these days from Bond films: it works perfectly as light entertainment and still packs an emotional punch which does not hang like a cloud over the film.

I think OHMSS is more or less the template of what they want these days. It has the emotional core that the Craig era has been looking for. It has the aggressive fighting style, and hardly any gadgets in the spirit of FRWL/CR. Before CR, OHMSS was the longest film in the series too. 140 plus minutes seems to be the norm now. But indeed, OHMSS still has a sense of playfulness which makes the ending all the more powerful. I still remember seeing the film for the first time. I was amazed at how much a piece of fictional entertainment affected my soul.

Well, if OHMSS could be followed by DAF there is still hope that BOND 25 or later films to completely change the template... :P

Pierce has said:

"I'd love to see Daniel Craig go again," said the four-time 007 at an awards ceremony in Poland. "He definitely should make another one.

"He's a magnificent, dynamic Bond who came onto the stage at a time when it really needed invigorating, and he did that brilliantly."
