Nice article with photos on the casting process for all the Bonds: http://www.denofgeek...w-to-cast-a-007

I didn't know that Purefoy was still in the running for Casino Royale back then. On that list both Turner and Norton are worth of screentest...

EON tested Aussie and NZ actors last time, so why not next time?

Here's another actor who I dont think has been mentioned yet, but would be a very interesting option.

Tom Cullen ('Weekend', 'Downton Abbey', 'Room 8')

Good candidate.

Hey guys here's a thought! What about this guy?!

69555.jpg

:P

Why not? It could be his big comeback in the business. ;)

Although it might be a bit awkward to go back to that well again since they just got done borrowing the subplot from Austin Powers in Goldmember for Spectre.

That's true. Maybe Bond was under deep, deep cover during IMOM, SWSM and GM...??

Austin Powers 4 will reveal that not only was Bond in all four of the films, he was in fact Dr. Evil (which is revealed to be an alias of Dr. Bloferhauser) the entire time. ;)

In all seriousness, I'm still holding out hope for Rupert Friend. I'm glad that he's not getting any mentions for the role, as that's always the kiss of death for someone's chances, at least this early in the process. Looks pretty good in the classic Bond pose as well:

Should Craig do 1 more then Madden will be at least mid 30's before he would play Bond. Plus I think he has a good background for the role, humble beginnings, stage acting and a few movies. Definitely not out of the price range and a talent EON could mold.

There's something about Hiddleston that doesn't feel quite right to me.

Good candidate.

How about another scotsman, Sam Heughan ? He does good work on the "Outlander" series and has the age for it.

He was in "A Princess for Christmas" with Sir Roger.

Back to square one I guess...

I'm always surprised to see Jamie Bell on those lists, it is just that he is 5'7". Love his work though.

Remember this, there was another on the KLAST site but it seems the site is no longer up. :(

My feelings exactly!  When I regularly watched MI-6 (Spooks), I was convinced Richard Armitage would make a perfect Bond.  In fact, somehwre hidden in this thread is my case for him from awhile back.

After Craig, however, I don't think I want the traditional approach that Armitage and Turner seem to portend.

I think there actually were a couple of members bringing Craig up back in the day, though more in a left-field manner, not with any inside knowledge. After Brosnan most people seemed to expect another traditional model, if I recall correctly.

Madden is only 1 cent shorter than Craig, if they cast Riley for the next movie then he has perfect age for the role...

Right now, it´s pretty clear that Craig still holds the job for Bond No. 6.

No.7 seems to be so far in the future (BOND 26...) that one probably has to look at actors in their late 20´s or early 30´s in order to speculate.

If so, then i think Bond 7 is born between 1985-1990.

Your right and I was wrong. Madden is 1 inch taller then Craig (5'10") at 5'11" I mistakenly looked up Kit Harington's (Jon Snow) height. Sorry.

You might have turned me into a believe just yet, he's also the right age. Apparently that is all I look for age and height, worst casting director ever.

I agree. I'm feeling good that Craig has the role for at least one more film. I'm not really caring about Bond #7 at this point.

It´s funny - I remember Michael G. Wilson speculating after CR that he and BB would like Craig to remain Bond for at least the next 10 years.  Or was it even films?

Remember when MGW suggested Craig might end up doing eight films? Interestingly, he made such a claim around the time SF began shooting. Seemed unrealistic even at the time. https://www.mi6-hq.c...n_on_craig.php3

Makes one wonder what could have been....

I remember that. It's actually when and why I joined CBn. It would even out my 'Magic Number 7' theory.

Ugh, can't stand the layout of the MI6-HQ forums. Not as well organized IMO.

They also have a '10 Years of Daniel Craig as 007' post but ours was first and better. Mahahaha.

Tom Cullen...interesting.  Good-looking, but for the puffs underneath his eyes.  And IMDB lists him as 6'1"...which means he's likely 5'10" or 5'11"...the height bit, unless he's really 6'1", would not be good.  I KNOW this is awfully superficial, but the eyes bit is something to be considered when thinking about the guy lasting for several films over the course of a time period in which he will get -- older.  (Come on, you know they did well not going with Dougray Scott in that regard...with apologies to Mr. Scott, of course)

The question remains:  Is he interesting ?  Or a relatively vapid and bland good-looker ?

Without reading all the 118 pages of previous suggestions, this may have already been put forward...I recently saw the 2013 trailer for The Saint, with Adam Rayner as Templar. Would love to see the full pilot, he certainly had the look and I wonder how he would go as Bond 7?
