Casino Royale isn't realy a hard reboot (see Star Trek for an exampl of that), apart from occasional references (such as the acquistion of the DB5 and some things said in conversation with M) and it's pre-titles, you wouldn't actually notice that it was a different continuity to what came before (though Bond has always had a distant relationship with continuity in that regard)

Actually Kingman: The Secret Service came about through pub conversations between Mark Millar and Matthew Vaughn about how, despite what some articles said pre-release, Casino Royale for the most part isn't an origin story for a spy.

on the one hand I want Craig to come back, and on the other hand I know if he does they'll continue where the last movie left off, which I don't want.

I'm afraid even with a new actor they'll do that.

It is the problem when there's nothing to discuss, fortunately book Bond is thriving atm with the return of Horrowitz for a novel and a third on going series from dynamite comics. Also BBC Radio 4 are doing Thunderball in December.

With SPECTRE doing huge numbers and the press still interested in speculating who´s going to be Bond I´d say the franchise´s fandom is going very strong.

I'm not over joyed about Horrowitz second bond novel - i'd prefer a new writer - still waiting for someone to get it write. But mustn't complain i 'spose.

Does anyone know more about this October 7th Denial Craig interview?

When, where and if it will be broadcast?

In general terms, I was referring to the fan's that are getting tired of 'no solid Bond news'.

Speaking of which, I've just read this: https://www.mi6-hq.c...k-2016?id=04163

Definitely sounds more positive than previous interviews, but it is almost a year since SPECTRE's release, he's had time away from Bond. My favourite part of the article is his Star Wars comment!

We've been discussing this, it sounds like there is still a considerable amount of time ahead before he even has to make any decision.

Yes, my apologies! I've been away for a while, and just caught up with the threads. We are a long way away, but at least the door isn't closed for his return. It's a good sign that he's still working with BB throughout Othello.

Yes, this definitely speaks of a relationship that's still intact enough to work together. But our patience as fans will be tested...

Well.

That's better to read than the rest of the tabloid garbage floating around.

Great to hear he's still..interested. Of course I understand nothing can be confirmed at all, so obviously nothing IS, but he gives the impression he's on good ground.

Just drop the family/revenge story if Craig is back and I'm happy!

On Paul Greengrass saying he wouldn't be interested in directing a Bond film: "Well we wouldn't ask him! He should be so fucking lucky!"

Sounds to me like Craig still considers himself part of the Bond bandwagon.

Good news to my  ears.

Couldn't agree more, and I'm very happy about it. I also like his quote re: being a storm trooper... proves he is still as grounded as someone in his position could be.

Well, welcome, I guess.

Any particular reason you just fire away one-liners? Because I'm quite sure you could handily stuff it all inside a single post and you'd have still plenty of room left...

Still, I wish the next actor will love to be Bond. And stay in that role until he´s too old or losing the audience.

True. But finally all the actors - except for Moore and maybe Brosnan - lost their enthusiasm for the role. I think the producers should let him go, if he`s not interested in making another movie anymore. In this case we won`t see Waltz as Oberhauser/ESB again, unfortunately. But on the other hand SPECTRE is a pretty good conclusion for Craigs era.

I can imgaine Ed Stoppard or Matthew McNulty in the role. They`re both very good actors.
Stoppard is too old, McNulty is better candidate.

You mean like Craig JUST said he intends to? And he's breaking limbs doing the job so it's not like he's holding back.

Care to elaborate a bit? Why, for example, him, which films you saw him in, what impressed you about the guy. And you can absolutely write more than a sentence per post.

I think BB already know's who the Bond 7 is, because last time she approached Craig so early (spring 2004).

I think Bond #7 won't be cast for a number of years, given Craig will probably come back.
