Could a moderator please give me a steer on whether we can post parts of the lyrics and discuss them ahead of the release date?

I'd rather not see any lyrics, might disagree with my oath of SKYFALL spoiler celibacy...

Understood. We can get a spoiler thread going at some point once we have more to go on. :)

I have been an Adele/theme supporter from way back but this is better than I expected.
Haunting is the only way to describe it.
This movie seems to be shaping up into something really special.

Bring back Adele for Bond 24!

It is really not all too much that one could reveal within, whatsit??? 50 seconds? Double that? One expects ample use of 'sky' and 'fall' and maybe both together, with a dash of soul and some Bond theme pepper to go with it...

Pretty much spot on. Pleasingly the lyrics don't particularly give much away either.

Can't say that I really care for her music at a normal time, but she'll probably be great for the new Bond theme with a dramatic flourish in 'Let the Sky Fall'!

It's just Skyfall, not Let the Sky Fall

It is most certainly the best Bond theme I have heard since The Living Daylights. As I thought it harks back to the more 'classic' theme songs of the 1960's. It is, I dare say quite sublime.

Reminds me of "Old Souls" from PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE.

Oh my, I am quite pleased a return to a lush full ballad. Just what I wanted to hear from the 50th anniversary of Bond. Well done.

There is a hint of "Diamonds are Forever" in it, but what I appreciate is that there is NO question that it is a Bond theme when you hear it for the first time. (ie: having the Bond theme actually appear in the track itself.)

Works for me.

It's very much along the lines of the early songs, with the inclusion of the James Bond Theme.

All over it.

If you can't hear the chords, then you don't know the Bond theme.

Amazing. It does sound a tad generic, yet it's completely fresh and....appropriate. That's what's brilliant. Bond theme-inspired background with Adele's voice carrying a melody. It's the definitive approach to a 2012 Bond song.

And it's beautiful. Anyone not happy with this surely impossible to please. What a voice.

Adele I believe is the second youngest singer to do a Bond song behind Carly Simon

She is the youngest. Tom Jones is the second youngest, 25 years old back in '65 with 'Thunderball'

Sounds very haunting on first listen.

Nice chords of the James Bond theme. May take a while to win me over, and probably will REALLY do it in context with the main titles. Not being a fan of Adele's vocals puts me back a peg or two, but the lyrics sound really clever. Meanginful, and emotional and as sharp as daggers.

Love the use of the actual title of 'Skyfall' too, and the lyrics speak volumes about what could be involved in the finished film! Exciting times indeed!

You sir, are right.

1.) Sheena Easton - 21 years old

2.) Adele - 24 years old

3.) Tom Jones - 25 years old

and so forth.
