I liked Another Way to Die :(

I do too, Sure the lyrics are questionable, but I find it quite catchy. It was my ringtone for over a year.

Parts of Another Way to Die I really like, the opening Dum-Dum--DUUMM!! *pause* Dum-Dum- DUUMM! *then the vocals kick in*..thought that was very Bond-esque...but I have always HATED the middle section of the song where White and Keys caterwall with the OOHH-OHH-AHH--OHH!! OOOH-Oh- aha--oh-Oh!! , well you get the idea... LOL

I know, I tend to dislike that part as well. I would've prefer it to be a solo performance on either Keys or Whites part.

I really liked Another Way to Die once you remove Jack White's lyrics...There's an instrumental around which i like.

I don't have Adele on my iPod but she is undoubtedly talented and the songs I've heard are great. She is a shoe-in for a Bond theme and I'm glad they chose her.

I have the instrumental, which I prefer to listen to slightly more.

Instrumental of 'Another Way to Die'? Any version that leaves out the whole "slick trigger finger for Her Majesty" disaster gets my approval.

That brass growl heard right at the very end of the Skyfall preview is the Bond-iest moment of music I've heard in a title track since...well, since I've been alive. Really can't wait to hear the later parts of the song where - I'm presuming - the thing really explodes. This clearly seems like the first verse, first chorus, and start of the second verse.

Yes, when I got the digital single, it came with both, original version and instrumental. Instrumental works best for me at the gym so I approve.

Must break away from listening to track and get back to reality lol! This has such a haunting sound and I agree this is the intro and you can tell the song is about to go out of the stratosphere in the next verse! Can't wait to hear it all! It has the Bond theme in it!!!!! Going to go back to track now lol!!

I also think too that if anybody ever wonders what an Amy Winehouse theme song would have been like... well... there you have it.

Indeed, bittersweet.

Anyone here listening to this song way more than they should be?

That would be a huge yes from me.

A little underwhelmed. Feels a bit like insert one generic James Bondish song here. And the Skyfaw.....Crumbow rhyming. Give me Radiohead any day.

Her voice is, as always, intoxicating. Agreed with Robinson, looking forward to seeing it with Kleinman's titles.

Pre-order: Check.

Great preview, I've listened to it three times now. It wasn't hard to find at all just google 'Adele Skyfall' and its like the 3rd link.

Can't wait to hear the rest she hasn't even given it her all yet.

More of an observation rather than anything scientific, but based on aggregators I use for work, the online mentions of "Skyfall" are (predictably) shooting off the scale today with more name-checks per second than I can remember at any stage in the production process. All great publicity for Bond.

I was just mentally going back over all the Bond songs while in class today. Is it me, or is this the first time we've heard the Bond theme this prominent in a title theme since Thunderball?

GoldenEye sticks out as the most prominent for me. It's not like YKMN was any slouch in that department either.

Well then let me feel a little embarrassed then, because I don't really here the Bond theme in those two songs.

Though I will give them another listen, now that you mentioned it.

The more and more I listen to it, the more I want to hear the rest of the song. Its certainly not what I was expecting but it really makes me think, 'I want to see the film to this. '

One could argue that Thunderball does as well.

Just curious, what song (in your opinion) achieves the Bond sound effortlessly?

Oh, in terms of quantity, you're absolutely right. In GoldenEye and YKMN it pops up once or is kind of buried. It's blatant in Skyfall. And I love it.

Been listening to this for half an hour. I love the song and Adele's voice peaking when 'Skyfall' is sung. Then cue Bond theme snippets. Beautiful.

Yes, quite haunting. I love it that the Let the Skyfall Fall bit is essencially the Diamonds are Forever bit from Dame Shirley. Listen carefully to both, it´s there ;) I love it!

I'm not either.

I'm not disappointed by it, though. I'm not a fan of Adele's music so it doesn't come as much of a surprise to me that I didn't enjoy the preview.

I like what I've heard so far. But the song is five minutes? Really? I mean, it's going to have to go somewhere grander to be a solid all around song. However, since the title sequence rarely uses the whole thing, I would even be satisfied with the small bit we have for the film.

We've only heard a third of it, from somewhere near the beginning. It will get appropriately bombastic at the right times, methinks.
