I dreamt about Skyfall again. This time, my dream included the title song. It was sung by Tom Jones.

At the height of their power, Duran Duran scored the highest ever chart rated Bond theme in 1985 with 'A View To A Kill, peaking at number 2 in the UK and Number 1 in the US, which is the highest on both sides of the Atlantic.

With Adele sitting on the top of the world with her musical tidal wave taking over the charts, will this help push her Bond theme to Number 1 again the US, or score the first Number 1 for Bond in the UK?

I do believe with her strong fan following , It is possible for her to score a Number one in the UK

With the anticipation building for this release, plus Adele's following and critical acclaim, I'm expecting a number 1 chart position in the UK, United States and probably a handful of other European nations. This could be a smash, and great publicity for SKYFALL.

I'd be more surprised if it didn't make it to number one. In Britain, at least.

Considering the current state of the UK Charts, I think it's a pretty safe bet for the song, if indeed sung by Adele, to go to number 1. Its biggest competitions in the chart right now are The Script's "Hall of Fame", Taylor Swift's new album and... Gangnam Style.

This would seem to imply the title of the song is simply "Skyfall." Nice catch, by the way!

Oh. Now that is weird - why is Adele´s twitter thing giving this away when EON and SONY try to keep it under wraps?

Because popstars / filmstars / politicians don't always think before they post?

BBC have also picked up on this.

Does this discredit the Showbiz411 articles, which were insisting it would be called Let the Sky Fall? I mean, since Jonathan Ross, we've been pretty certain it was going to be Adele - Could they have picked up on the dead cert and made it look like they had exclusive information or were they just misinformed?

So JAC Redford worked on the arrangement for the Skyfall song, not Newman? I wonder why that is?

Radford's an orchestrator for Newman. They've worked together before. (Iron Lady, Wall-E).

So this looks to be 12:00 am EST on Thu/Fri.

I will say Adele seems to be proud of the song. She's definately not trying to run from it.

Well that's that then! And with that running time I'm sure it will be cut down for the titles, as 'LTK' and 'AWTD' was.

Have to say, exciting times then! Not long until we hear it...

More info from the press release...

After reading the script for the film, Adele enlisted Paul Epworth to co-write and produce the theme song to “Skyfall™.” Adele admits, “I was a little hesitant at first to be involved with the theme song for Skyfall. There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end. It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life. I’ll be back combing my hair when I'm 60 telling people I was a Bond girl back in the day I'm sure!” Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, “Skyfall” features the lush accompaniment of a 77-piece orchestra.
