While Adele wouldn't be my first choice to perform a Bond song, I just want the song to be as good and as a memorable as "You Know My Name". And at the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about?

As I don't listen to pop music, I am not all that familiar with Adele....... Must remember to check her out.
Check out her "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" performance on Youtube.

Responding to a fan's question on Twitter about the Bond theme, Ryan wrote, "ive heard it. Best bond song in my lifetime. Hands down- hats off once again to Paul Epworth and Adele. hope they win Oscar!"
His tweet has since been deleted.

OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder Has Heard Adele's James Bond Theme

This is very interesting. I don't see why a friend and collaborator of Adele's would make a thing like this up.

I guess EON is going to make us wait every last second they can.

ITA. Nancy Sinatra was never a great vocalist, but her something thin voice and very simple, unadorned performance fit beautifully with the melody, orchestration, and title sequence. Different from any other titles in the series. On the other hand, it wasn't surprising that they laid a chorus behind her for the single version to give it more punch.I'm a little older than most, so take this with the grain of salt that goes with it. But I remember being disappointed when I found out that Nancy Sinatra was singing the theme of YOLT. Granted I was only 13 at the time - but old enough to go "what?" Now, it is one of my favorites. So if it does end up being Adele - I'm gonna wait to hear what Thomas Newman and her have cooked up before passing judgement. I just wish Eon would go ahead and let the cat out of the bag. I can hear Michael Wilson now - "The second worst kept secret of this film is...."

Moviepilot says Adele's confirmed. Make of it what you will.
http://moviepilot.co...ong-for-skyfall
Well, they are just telling us the ShowBiz 411are confirming it. They even say, "...we’re thrilled to finally tell you that ShowBiz 411 has confirmed that..."
Which just takes us back to the the article that I posted here last week, nothing new.
How difficult is this to understand? Even if a million other sites say ShowBiz 411 say this, it does not make it more true or in any way add anything.
Having said that, I believe the original ShowBiz 411 story.

But really, I think like Skyfall being the title, this is one of the worst kept secrets ever.

Naturally, these rumours were found out to be utter rubbish , after a few phone calls were made to the stores in question.
I think this is a clear sign, Sony/EON, that we want a bloody announcement NOW, as to who is singing the bleddy title song!

I can't tell if you're jesting, but I for one would love that.

I don't care who sings it, as long as its NOT Jack White and Alicia Keys.
Alicia Keys was fine. It was Jack White that ruined it. Listen to Alicia Keys sing the whole song by herself. It's way better.

Twitter has been a-buzz this afternoon with rumours that HMV stores in the UK were heard playing Adele's Skyfall track. One user likened it to A-Ha's The Living Daylights: "Very cool, understated, meloncholic".
Naturally, these rumours were found out to be utter rubbish , after a few phone calls were made to the stores in question.

AGREED!! EON/Sony need to let the world know sooner rather than later as these false Tweets and rumors are just gonna get more and more out of hand...(actually, I would LOVE Adele's song to have the same vibe and feel which A-ha's The Living Daylights had..)

I also agree Alicia Keys doing the theme song solo would have been better. I also like her Empire State Of Mind solo version better.
I like Empire State of Mind the way it is. Admittedly that's probably the New Yorker in me talking. Speaking of, how would a Jay-Z Bond song sound?

- Song contains the word 'sky' and 'fall', but not together as he recalls.
- Living Daylights is a comparable. Song is more electronic and melancholic.
- Not "gimmicky" or big and brassy. More "grown up."
- It wasn't announced as the Skyfall theme, or anything. He's just assuming it was, because it was unmistakably Adele, a new song he hasn't heard, and sounded pretty Bond-y.
Make of it what you will. If it's a hoax, it's an odd and very, very specific one.

And if they wanted to wait till the film is out to let us know who sings the song (or rather, let the movie speak for itself), is that really a big deal?
