He could've been referring to the Kate Middleton topless photo scandal.

No and no.

Just really hoping it wasn't Adele. I find her music very bland and Boring. I suppose I was running away from the Inevitable.

The truly saddest day of my life was August 9th, 2012. Day I was awoken from my nap to find out my grandfather passed away. Three days from his birthday too.

It's strange that all the general entertainment and news sites have decided to report this as if it had been officially confirmed, and not just reported as confirmed by some guy. As far as I can tell, there's been no announcement from Eon or Adele or anyone else in a position to know what they're talking about. Everything seems to hang on the word of this Roger Friedman character, who supplies no source, and comes across as a self-promoting gasbag. Maybe it's true, but I'd like to see at least a scrap of official confirmation.

That's because he is a showbiz-insider, and mostly he is right.
I know this guy for about 10 years now, and whenever he announced some news, they turned out to be true. He has some very good informants.

And I think the other media companies know that he is a reliable source, even if he has nothing to do with EON or Adele.

According to the Total Film website, it is officially Adele. I am quite pleased with this.

Still not officially confirmed.

If you look at the article’s source at the bottom, it plainly says that Total Film just lifted this information from WorstPreview.com.
If you click the link, you will then see that Worst Preview says they got the info from ShowBiz 411.

Which just takes us back to the story I posted here days ago, so nothing new and certainly nothing official.

I still believe Roger Friedman and his story on Showbiz 411 to be true, however.

We should get offical confirmation and a proper press release in... well, I'm guessing in the next few days.

Yeah, I think it will be this week, too. I dare say they've held back on announcing her as the singer until now in case she went into labour around the time of the recording date and couldn't do it.

Agreed, I think they wanted it done and dusted before going public, just in case.
There is no reason I can think of for them not to go ahead with a press release now.

I read somewhere on Twitter that the song will be released in early October.

Which is a good guess, since there isn't really any other time it can be released- we're so close to the premiere of Skyfall! A press release at the end of this week or at the latest next week, would be nice.

Honestly, I don't even care anymore. Is it possible that the song and title were so bad that they are scrambling last minute for a replacement? Or Sam Mendes cut it from the film and that's why we haven't got confirmation? Or that what we've seen in trailers was all teaser and there IS NO Skyfall?

How ridiculous. That 411 blogger is so hell-bent on being the first one to break the story that he just decided to announce it as fact before it's been confirmed. His blog is laughable. For every sentence saying he's absolutely certain - he has to toss in a slight disclaimer saying he's almost certain, kind of, pretty much, probably, almost certainly, for sure, as soon as the studio says so, etc, etc.

Lame.

That blogger did nothing more than claim to have certain knowledge of something which is already widely regarded as a safe bet. When it's officially announced, he'll be able to claim that he was the first to "confirm" it. And he'll get away with it, because every news site on the Internet has already reported his "scoop" as the bona fide truth. The only way he gets burned is if someone other than Adele is announced as the singer.

"reportedly been confirmed", also based on a report which was based on a website with lots of uncertainties. "I think", "I believe" - is journalism really getting so lazy? I'd've thought better of a paper like The Guardian.

Not when it comes to Bond. It's actually quite typical. Look how much they made of re-reporting all that trash from the Daily Mirror about Bognor Regis.

I'd say that maybe Eon's silence at denying that it is 'confirmed' may be a sign of something, but then they wisely rarely get involved in denials otherwise they'd be doing it all the time; and we'd be able to read something from their silence in times such as this!

I like the comment on that article that asks if 'the song is about being dumped' :)

They probably have a duet or something very unique or I would assume the song just didn't work. If memory serves me right it was two weeks before GoldenEye premiered the song was debuted on radio.

For all the newspaper and online articles claiming to maybe/possibly/definitely have confirmed Adele as the title song performer, the post below remains the best use of the known facts I've seen:

I’ve done a bit of investigating on Twitter and come up with the following, it’s inconclusive but interesting, I think…

We know via music editor Tony Lewis on Twitter that they started recording the Skyfall score at Abbey Road on August 28th -

On August the 29th Paul Epworth Tweeted - “Off to record a little bit of history.”

To which ACA Music Management replied - “Good luck Eppers, we'll be keeping an eye out for this ‪#abbeyroadmeets

So, it seems that Paul Epworth was off to Abbey Road to record a ‘bit of history’ at the same time that the Skyfall soundtrack was being recorded at that very studio and ACA were interested.
Another person showing interest was David Arnold who tweeted – “how much history are you going to end up recording?”

Now ACA handle a lot of artists but one of them is Adele.
http://artists.acamu...majorView/Adele
And it has long been rumoured that Paul Epworth is working on the Skyfall song with her.
