He could've been referring to the Kate Middleton topless photo scandal.

No and no.
Just really hoping it wasn't Adele. I find her music very bland and Boring. I suppose I was running away from the Inevitable.
The truly saddest day of my life was August 9th, 2012. Day I was awoken from my nap to find out my grandfather passed away. Three days from his birthday too.

Everything seems to hang on the word of this Roger Friedman character, who supplies no source, and comes across as a self-promoting gasbag.
That's because he is a showbiz-insider, and mostly he is right.
I know this guy for about 10 years now, and whenever he announced some news, they turned out to be true. He has some very good informants.
And I think the other media companies know that he is a reliable source, even if he has nothing to do with EON or Adele.

According to the Total Film website, it is officially Adele. I am quite pleased with this.

Still not officially confirmed.
If you look at the article’s source at the bottom, it plainly says that Total Film just lifted this information from WorstPreview.com.
If you click the link, you will then see that Worst Preview says they got the info from ShowBiz 411.
Which just takes us back to the story I posted here days ago, so nothing new and certainly nothing official.
I still believe Roger Friedman and his story on Showbiz 411 to be true, however.

Yeah, I think it will be this week, too. I dare say they've held back on announcing her as the singer until now in case she went into labour around the time of the recording date and couldn't do it.
Agreed, I think they wanted it done and dusted before going public, just in case.
There is no reason I can think of for them not to go ahead with a press release now.

Which is a good guess, since there isn't really any other time it can be released- we're so close to the premiere of Skyfall! A press release at the end of this week or at the latest next week, would be nice.

I'd've thought better of a paper like The Guardian.
Not when it comes to Bond. It's actually quite typical. Look how much they made of re-reporting all that trash from the Daily Mirror about Bognor Regis.

I like the comment on that article that asks if 'the song is about being dumped'

I’ve done a bit of investigating on Twitter and come up with the following, it’s inconclusive but interesting, I think…
We know via music editor Tony Lewis on Twitter that they started recording the Skyfall score at Abbey Road on August 28th -
On August the 29th Paul Epworth Tweeted - “Off to record a little bit of history.”
To which ACA Music Management replied - “Good luck Eppers, we'll be keeping an eye out for this #abbeyroadmeets”
So, it seems that Paul Epworth was off to Abbey Road to record a ‘bit of history’ at the same time that the Skyfall soundtrack was being recorded at that very studio and ACA were interested.
Another person showing interest was David Arnold who tweeted – “how much history are you going to end up recording?”
Now ACA handle a lot of artists but one of them is Adele.
http://artists.acamu...majorView/Adele
And it has long been rumoured that Paul Epworth is working on the Skyfall song with her.
