Information on this film does seem to be very tightly and successfully controlled right across the board - I remember in times past leaks came thick and fast throughout the process to release.

Muse for Skyfall theme perhaps or just reading into nothing more than promotion for their new album and just a coincidence. lol

Certainly sounds very coincidental to have Muse and Daniel Craig together so close to the release of 'Skyfall' - this tops any Adele rumours for me for the main titles!

Very interesting. The day after Global James Bond Day no less. I don't believe in coincidence. Muse are my second choice to do the theme so i'd be happy if this is true. Thanks KM16!

And they have enough Brit backing and status to provide 'Survival', the official London 2012 Olympic Games song. And they're big enough to do this, but not overly big and in your face like Adele is, as her voice is everywhere now.

Hmm...can't say I've heard many of their songs, but I'd probably recognise them if I heard them but I do remember falling in love with "Knights Of Cydonia" on Guitar Hero...that was epic, and their harmony and hard edge would fit wonders for a blockbuster Daniel Craig-era Bond film I bet!

I think its very possible it could be a coincidence. With all of the secrecy surrounding Skyfall, I can't imagine that EON would simply let NBC, of all things, let the cat out of the bag like this with today's announcement.

I wouldn't say NBC would be announcing it, more likely the title singers (if it is Muse) will be announced before and the song would debut on SNL.

What I meant was, I can't imagine that EON would let NBC announce that Muse and Craig were on Saturday Night Live together ahead of their announcing Muse as the title song artist if they are indeed doing the title song. The announcement that Craig is hosting and that Muse is the musical guest comes came from NBC and the producers of Saturday Night Live.

True, and it could be just coincidence. But it just seems too perfect. Of course, maybe Skfall (like TND) will have two themes and Muse's will play over the opening titles, while Adele's plays over the end credits. Seems possible.

Of course, it would be a perfect way to get the song known and into the charts. To not have Muse do the song would almost be a missed PR opportunity.

Or, to perhaps think even bigger, if it turns out that Muse is involved somehow, what if it turns out to be a Muse/Adele duet. Given that it's the 50th Anniversary, it would make sense to get two massive British acts in on the title track. Maybe they're the only ones booked for SNL because of Adele's pregnancy and she may/may not join them on SNL if she's able. Just throwing the idea out there.

I don't think that will affect things too much to be honest. Previous theme artists haven't done too much promotion anyway.
