MOONRAKER's a beautiful song. Very underrated. I'd rather have something like that, than say another GOLDFINGER pastiche.

Well... so much for Lana Del Rey, eh? Truly atrocious and unprofessional performance last night on SNL; EON probably won't even so much as consider her, now.

She was nervous. A bit weak. She's a singer, not a performer. But not truly atrocious and unprofessional. Going by the comments over on the Huffington Post people seem to hate her because her daddy's rich... even if they won't admit it.

EON should sign her.

I mean if they had two performers on the last title song why not do McCartney and Bassey? You could even throw in Duran Duran if you really wanted to. But really McCartney and Bassey could make a pretty classic Bond theme together.

We're not doing BondAid here!

Ok, not BondAid ;) per se, but what if, for the 50th birthday, they got together several of the original song artist for a Concert? C´mon, you know it would be epic EON, just do it! Get all six Bonds together and force Sir Sean to listen to Macca without earmuffs :)

Celine Dion? Iron Maiden?

Surely you jest.

well iron maiden wont do it they are way past their prime and out of date

but why is celine dion a joke?

this film seems to be going after anyone who has already made a name for themselves and has some type of award or nomination on their resume

celine dions "my hears will go on" is one of the most famous singles of all time!

and if the title skyfall has some type of "emotional context" then the theme song will embrace it

Yeah, and one of the most banal, trite pop songs ever written and performed. Celine Dion is a one hit wonder.

i´d rather have Madonna back instead of Dion, and that´s saying a lot.

Scrap that. Neither.

a one hit wonder is something like Chumbawamba

Mashing Adele and Moby together might have sounded like a good idea at the time, but just because it sounds like a good idea doesn't mean you should actually do it. Just as Metallica and Lou Reed proves with Lulu. Here's the disasterpiece itself:

Katherine Jenkins ... her version of "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen was memorable.

Oh Moby, for years people have been saying "Hey, I've got some Moby here, might as well throw it into a random song. Perfect." Nothing good has ever come of it.

Listened to the Katherine Jenkins track. Unfortunately, it fell under my "don't touch Queen's music" policy so not a strong start or me. She's got a nice voice. She could do some nice work with a full orchestra I'm sure but nothing spectacular I guess.

Well, much as I dislike her, Celine Dion is not a one-hit wonder, having had two UK number one singles and a host of top ten hits including duets with the Bee Gees and Barbra Streisand.

Still - no way I'd want her singing a Bond song.

I think we might get Adele.

All I want is someone who's a relevant musician today- that has some sort of musical quality and preferably writes their own songs- so no Katherine Jenkins, Celine DIon, Susan Boyle, Justin Bieber etc... I could get down with someone like Adele, Lana Del Rey and even people like Coldplay, Kings of Leon etc etc etc... This is excluding the tonnes of less well known musicians who would do a great job

I don't know why people suggested Celine Dion in the first place. She hasn't been taken seriously since 1997.

Right, because we should totally award the title theme to someone based on how they did on SNL. Del Rey probably just wasn't comfortable singing in front of a live studio like that, and choked. If she were recording in a studio - which she would do for the SKYFALL theme - she would no duobt be more comfortable, and therefore produce a better song.

That performance might have single-handedly destroyed her reputation to the point that EON wouldn't even consider her.

Regardless of her "SNL" performance, she just isn't that good.

I don't think so, either, but having said that, I also don't think she would exactly be at the top of EON's list.
