I think Procal Harum could do a great theme for Bond, they're a old band, but still tour.

Here's an excellent example of something they did that was very Bondish, or at least, that's the way I look at it.

Coldplay is though also an opportunity, Chris Martin, the lead singer, has a Nice and smooth Bond-a-Like voice...Travis could be an realistic idea, As well. But in my opinion, sorry to said this guys' but, i don't Think the next Bond film Will have only 1 male/female Singer in the theme. It's hard to say of course, but if you look back in time of the latest movies, for instants: in QOS we had a duet, White/Keys, in CR we had Cornell, in DAD we had Madonna, and then in TWINE we had Garbage...please notice, that 'Garbage' is a band, and NOT one single Singer/musician, Like Madonna and Chris Cornell is. And since TWINE was released in 1999, it is, As you might Can figure out, around 13 years ago, since we actually have had a group/band to perform the Bond-theme for a Bond-movie. Believe it or not. That's mostly why that I Think ...I Think, that Bond 23 Will certainly have a group/band in it, to perform the theme. But remember, in the Bond Universe anything Can happen. Nothing is absolutely for sure yet....but Coldplay & Travis or maybe other rockbands, keep an eye open on them...!!!

Does anyone thing Adele's weight would hinder her being picked, as coco1997 claims below?

Would EON go for an overweight theme performer?

To that, I have one... okay, several replies: :D

Adele.

Seconded!

I think Adele is the best out there right now. Her talent is so far-out she simply doesn't need to dress and act like a skank whore to sell records. The current charts show how amazing her music is. She puts 100% heart and soul into every single song, she could do a Bond title....easily. :)

Adele:

Not sure if you guys down-under got to see the recent Brit Awards held here in London but arguably the performance of the night came from Adele signing 'Someone Like You"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZtUjFJvYkA

Compared to other acts that night who relied on gimmicks and controversy to enhance their performance Adele proved all you need is a decent pianist, a great song and a voice to rival Dusty Springfield.

Adele

Ok, Adele.

...as well as the posts from JackUnion and Robinson higher up on the page; it seems there is no contest. ;)

His obvious fascination with Adele and her large body of work, of course.

I think Adele would bring back the sound of Shirley Bassey with out making it feel dated.

I think the reason why Adele would be a good choice is not because she can sound like Shirley Bassey, but because she can sound like Shirley Bassey without coming across as trying to sound like Shirley Bassey, if you get my meaning. Back when Amy Winehouse was picthed as a candidate for QUANTUM OF SOLACE, a lot of people argued that she could sound like Bassey. The problem with that is that the song would just be too much of a pastiche. It would sound like Bassey for the sake of it, and have no real identity of its own. A song should be itself first and a tribute second, not the other way around.

Adele, on the other hand, has a voice and a style strong enough to stand out on its own whilst being remniscent of Bassey. There's only a handful of other performers who could possibly do it. Pink is probably the only other one I can think of off the top of my head.

I realize this is a little bit of a curveball, but how about Linkin Park, I think they could do a great job of something in the vein of You Know My Name, lately they've been doing a great job of capturing an epic cinematic feel.

Linkin Park?

No, thank you. I'd sooner clean my ears out with sulphuric acid.

I'm thinking Pink would be closer to the GOLDFINGER song. But it would have to be the right song. Pink sells herself on her attitude, and I think a balance would have to be found - too much attitude, and it would just be another Pink song; too little, and I don't think she could carry it. People have been calling for David Arnold (or whoever scores the film) to be involved in the song-writing process sooner, if only to integrate the title theme into the film score. This would be especially important in the case of Pink.

If you wanted a MOONRAKER-esque ballad, then I'd actually suggest Alicia Keys again. I know Another Way to Die gets cut to ribbons, but if she was given a second shot, I don't think she'd blow it. I think her guest appearance on Empire State of Mind and Empire State of Mind (Part II) is far more representative of her abilities - she was really washed out in Another Way to Die.

But Adele still gets my vote first and foremost.

I admit I do like AWTD as well. It doesn't quite work as a Bond theme, but if it were released as an ordinary song, then it's just fine. But I do feel Keys was drowned out a little bit.

This is not an endorsement of Lady Ga Ga but I came across this performance that would keep me from being upset if she was chosen.

I Say let either Coldplay, Muse, or The Killers have a go at it. I really never like Shirley Bassey music for the bond films espically Moonraker. Its a very annoying song to me. Adele i like some of her music but it just doesn't fit wit daniel craigs bond. his bond is ruf and tuf not soft and cheeky . i like the more rocked tone that chris cornnel brought in and i think one of these three bands could do it.

Keri Hilson? Isn't she the one who needs to mention her name in every song she performs ("My name is Keri, and I'm so very ..") because that's the only way she can remember it? I'm sure she is.

If this is really gonna be a re-approach to the usual Bond format (Moneypenny, Q, the usual procedures pre-mission) why not go with a old voice to bring the new Bond and new stuff close to base: like Dame Shirley?

If not I would go with Muse, they've been making good strong paced themes recently.

PS: 'though I'm not sure if the choice of Joss Stone for the theme and character of the VG Bloodstone was so innocent!

How about Nero? They could provide a unique theme and a quite stunning effect when paired with some Kleinman or MK12 visuals.

With or without the auto-tune?

Actually, don't bother answering that. I already know the answer to both questions is no.

I think the Winehouse ship sailed a few years ago, and the recent trouble she had in Croatia and cancelling her tour were the final nails in her coffin.

Wow... how did you predict the future like that!? Get out of my mind... er, time vortex!!!

*You know your house, is your house bigger on the inside than it is on the outside?... Do you fancy Billie Piper!?*

Anyway, it's sad to know that we'll definitely never get a Winehouse theme now. I don't know if that's necessarily a bad thing, but it is most decidedly a sad thing. Well, maybe we'll see the release of what was recorded as a demo for Quantum... at least it sounded like there would at least be an early demo of some kind. Even if it sounds like total crap, at least it'd give us an idea of what could have been... but I have a feeling a Winehouse demo would just be a version of "No Good About Goodbye".

I have said it before on this poste and I'll say it again. These are the ones I would like to see perform the title song for Bond 23 or later on.

Celine Dion
Mariah Carey
The Cranberries
Andrea Bocelli (a good singer don't know would it work with him)
Vanessa Williams
Phil Collins

Don't know would it work with any of them
The Who
The Rolling Stones
Bon Jovi
Evanescene
