As far as the plot goes a similar break from Spectre/Quantum would be welcome, before upping the ante in Bond 24 with his Nemesis/Blofeld/MrWhite Returning for a full on Thunderball/OHMSS/YOLT confrontation...

David Bowie would be another one that I would like to see do the theme too.
Same with Shirley Bassey, just because of the connection it would bring to the series a bit.

I think Morrissey would be fantastic for a Bond movie.
As much as I respect your opinion...DEAR GOD, NO!!!

Here's a song he's done that pretty much an attempt at a Bond theme song already.
A couple more.

I like the JOURNEY/Perry suggestion...however, it's about 27 years too late. I love JOURNEY more than anyone else, but they'd have been more appropriate back in the late 70's/early 80's....you know, in their hey-day. In fact, JOURNEY probably would've been most appropriate back in 1979 for MOONRAKER.
I'm not suggesting Journey to be involved at all with the Bond title track, as I've personally stopped caring about the band since Perry's departure. While I'd love to see Perry get back with the band (and it's the only way I'd welcome Journey to the Bond franchise), I'd prefer to just have Perry sing an "Open Arms" type ballad for a Bond title track on his own, without help from Journey (or any other band, really). I think sitting Perry and Arnold down in a studio to hammer out a title track could produce good results, even if the chances of it happening are below 0%.

Of course I could always put in my hopefuls...Metallica and Megadeth. Though out of the two I think Megadeth would be a better choice as Megadeth did the theme for "Last Action Hero" and don't seem to be above doing that kind of thing.

God, no! Soulless and character-less and the perfect example of how good vocals do not a good singer make.Leona Lewis could do a good job with a Bond theme. It wouldn't be a LALD rock theme, but more a TSWLM gentle ballad.

If it's anything like that Avatar atrocity, keep her well away from Bond.

I still think Paul McCartney should come back and do another one.
When I was young and my heart wasn't an open book, I used to think LALD wasn't a real Bond theme. Not so much dislike of the tune as reaction against anyone other than John Barry being involved in the Bond musical sound. Admittedly, I was an intolerant 11 year old at the time!
Now, on reflection, I think it is one of the best in the series.
Not a bad idea at all, elizabeth, getting an old pro like McCartney back to where he once belonged.

Just saw this guy playing the song live on TV and googled for a studio version. You really should have posted the proper video for the song, as it's most Bondian:I feel like being radical so I have a suggestion that I'm pretty sure everyone else but me will hate. It's an artist named Beat Assailant.
Here's a song he's done that pretty much an attempt at a Bond theme song already.

Why not indeed. Also, I rather liked kd lang's performance of the end title for TND. Why not let her have a go at the main theme for Bond 23?

SIR ELTON JOHN delighted Lady Gaga will do James Bond theme tune
Sir Elton John is delighted his new pal LADY GAGA is recording the next James Bond song and he can't wait to sing with the wacky star.
The Rocket Man, 63, said: "I'm really pleased that Lady Gaga is up for the theme tune. She's fantastic and it would be amazing to do a duet."
Just as long as it's a cover of one of her hits and not his!
- Duet with Elton????? Hmmm............

Ouch. That is fairly dire. Over-produced and under-written. Sorry...The first sort of professional song written and performed for Bond 23's song submission,
