After watching now Moonraker for my first time, the sky diving scene was very cool to watch. They definitely put some good efforts into the scene to make it something different and exciting for the viewer for this particular Bond film. Dolly and Jaws were quite the surprise at the end with Jaws changing sides...however, very cheesy parts with some of the background love tunes when they first met! haha. Moonraker was very entertaining but I tend to lean more towards the somewhat serious/action Bond theme not so much the corny Bond. B)

It's rather embarrassing for me to say this, but I found another favorite Bond tribute.
(I edited my old posts, so it no longer says the old one's my favorite, but you should know.)
This one also has great editing, and an awesome, but different, rock version of the Bond theme by Moby.
It's definitely my favorite Bond tribute EVER!
Please watch. I know you all will love it.

I agree. It's an excellent JB tribute and I like it even more that the other video.

To: MajorB:
Great choices! I really like Thunderball too! It's a classic. And I agree with you on too many of your favorite scenes to list (again!).

To: FRWLfan:
Cool. It's nice to know someone agrees with me.

To: oddjob3
I totally agree. I love Moonraker, but it has some parts that I wince at, LOL.

Thank you all for posting!

Here's a great Bond bloopers site:

http://www.geocities...llone/bond.html

This guy is great! I do disagree on some of his ratings. For example:: "The World Is Not Enough : 5/10" I like The World Is Not Enough a lot, and "Die Another Day: 1/10" I don't care for it that much, but I still like it, and it definitely deserves better than 1/10, But he has found so many bloopers that it's amazing!

(But, I don't recommend that you hit the "BLOOPERMAN"S MAIN PAGE" link. That site is a bit of a mess. No insult intended.)

Definitely check this out! B)

Bond movies ROCK!

Over the years, I have heard all about the whole "Admiral Hargreaves/Robert Brown's M/Bernard Lee's M" debate.
I have proof that Brown as Hargreaves is DIFFERENT than his M.
I found this proof in "The Ultimate James Bond Fan Book" by Deborah Lipp (Who also runs a great Bond movie blog).
I don't have the book with me, so I can't quote it, but here is the synopsis:

Hargreaves is an HIGH RANKING admiral, yet when we see Brown's M in his military uniform in The Living Daylights, he is a LOWER RANKED admiral. Why in the world would Hargreaves be demoted to the position of M? It is just not so.

That leaves two options:
1) Brown's M is the same character as Lee's M.
2) Brown's M is a second M (there is actually some proof to this, since in another part of "The Ultimate James Bond Fan Book" it mentions an official release info CD/game in which it list's Brown's M as "M2").

I believe the second.

BTW, the amazingly stupid "Code-Name" theory is false. (If you don't know what that is, I am not going to give you any dumb ideas.) There is proof against it. Ex: Reference to Bond's marriage to Tracy (3 films); Bond's personality is the same (gambling, fashion, womanizing, vodka martini's- "shaken not stirred") ect.

So there you have it.

BTW, Dench is definitely the best M.
While I do like Lee's M, I think Dench is a much more interesting M, and she has some great scenes, especially in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
I like her in the reboot. I think there is an explanation for her being there:

She was head of MI6 first, and was fired (probably because of something Bond did...) and then they hired Lee, then when he died, they hired Brown. Maybe then they needed Dench back, so they hired her back.

Long, but possible.

I was thinking...

I love The Living Daylights. It's My 10th favorite Bond movie. But there is one thing I don't get:
Why does Bond get on the plane and take off in the Afghanistan air base? He could have waited for the bomb to explode, and then left with the Mujahideen. Or first defused the explosive and take off. Then he would take the plane to a high altitude, and parachute out, letting the plane crash. Both would destroy the heroin. It seems like he forgot to defuse the bomb before he took off.

Does anyone have a plausible explanation?
If you do, please post it here.

Also, on my first post, I regrettably listed my top ten movies in abbreviations, not fully, and I somehow can't edit it, so here thy are:
1. Casino Royale
2. Goldfinger
3. Thunderball
4. From Russia With Love
5. Dr. No
6. GoldenEye
7. Quantum of Solace
8. Licence To Kill
9. Tomorrow Never Dies
10. The Living Daylights

All are excellent movies, and my personal favorites.
(But numbers 6-10 do change order quite often.)

Yesterday I was listening to "The Living Daylights" by A-Ha. It's the best Bond song IMO. It has an epic sound to it. And I love the lyrics, especially "The living's in the way we die" since it could be Bond's family motto. It's a great song.
Here are the great lyrics:

Hey driver, where we going?
I swear, my nerves are showing
Set my hopes up way too high
Living's in the way we die

Comes the morning and the headlights fade away
Hundred thousand people, I'm the one they frame
I've been waiting long for one of us to say
"Save the darkness, let it never fade away"

Ooohh, the living daylights
Ooohh, the living daylights (the living daylights)

Alright, hold on tight now,
It's down, down to the wire
Set your hopes up way too high
Living's in the way we die

Comes the morning and the headlights fade away
Hundred thousand changes, everything's the same
I've been waiting long for one of us to say
"Save the darkness, let it never fade away"

Ooohh, the living daylights
Ooohh, the living daylights (the living daylights)
Ooohh, the living daylights (the living daylights)

Comes the morning and the headlights fade away
Hundred thousand people, I'm the one they frame
Ooohh, the living daylights
Ooohh, the living daylights (the living daylights)
(the living daylights) set your hopes up way too high
(the living daylights) living's in the way we die
(the living daylights) set your hopes up way too high
(the living daylights) living's in the way we die
(the living daylights) set your hopes up way too high

And, here's a link:

Great stuff. B)

More favorite scenes:

The Living Daylights: Very good PTS and nice intro of Dalton (who in my opinion, was a very good Bond); excellent title song; the scenes with Q; Aston Martin V8 with "optional extras"; Necros - one of the best henchmen since Red Grant; the killing of Saunder and Bond's reaction; Bond's encounter with Pushkin and the fake assassination; Bond's fight with Necros while hanging on the huge net that has fallen out of the airplane -another great stunt.

Licence to Kill: Exciting PTS that ends with Bond and Leiter parachuting in for Leiter's wedding; David Hedison's return as Leiter (in my opinion, the best Leiter); Robert Davi as Sanchez - a wonderful villain who can be both vicious and, to those he believes are totally loyal, caring and considerate; the introduction of Sanchez (ordering that the heart of his girlfriend's lover be cut out); incorporating the shark attack from the book version of LALD - "He disagreed with something that ate him."; when Bond kills Killifer; Bond's attempt to assassinate Sanchez; Bond's escape that starts with skiing without water skis and ends up with him hijacking the airplane that has Krest's (really Sanchez's) money (It's also great how Bond uses the money later to convince Sanchez that Krest tried to have him killed); Pam Bouvier - a very good bond girl; the different side of Q; and, of course, the tanker chase at the end of the film - one of the greatest and most original vehicle chases in film history.

More to come.

You both have great choices! I also like Craig, Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Live And Let Die, Die Another Day, Red Grant, Necros, the first "Bond... James Bond" and a lot more of your favorites! And I too love all of the Bond actors. Each portrayed Bond in a unique way. The Bond movie series is simply the best movie series ever.
P.S. I highly recommend that you see You Only Live Twice and Octopussy. Both are great movies!

Great choices! I like Licence To Kill, Moore, Kamal Khan, Octopussy, and the elevator fight too. The elevator fight is especially great. One of the best Bond fights ever! It's unlike most others, since it's in a very confined and dangerous space. B)

I was playing 007: Everything Or Nothing, and it's definitely my favorite Bond game. I like 3rd person games more than 1st, and the gameplay is great. It has Pierce Brosnan doing the actual voice-work and the rest of the Brosnan crew doing their respective characters, including Judi Dench and John Cleese . Great stuff. This game really should have been a movie.

Here are the story moments:

More favorite scenes, etc.:

Goldeneye: Excellent PTS - the bungee-jump from the top of the dam is breathtaking - also a great intro of Brosnan as Bond; Sean Bean as Alec Trevelyan/006 - great villain and first 00 to turn traitor; Judi Dench's first appearance as M - excellent exchanges with Bond and Turner during her initial scene; Onatopp - best bad Bond girl since Fiona Volpe - Famke Janssen's performance is a bit "over the top" - however, it works - also, the car chase that introduces her character is fun; Bond's scene with Q; the introduction of Jack Wade as a replacement for Felix Leiter - a good ally - funny, but not overly comical; the introduction of Valentin Zukovsky, well played by Robbie Coltrane; Bond's first meeting with Janus in a graveyard of Russian monuments; the tank-car chase; Bond's last fight with Trevelyan (best fight since the elevator fight in DAF); title song by Bono and the Edge, sung by Tina Turner.

Tomorrow Never Dies: Another excellent PTS; good title song (although "Surrender," which is used at the end, might be even better); another great performance by Judi Dench as M; Bond's first remote control drive of the BMW 75IL (including effective use of the James Bond theme); Dr. Kaufman - wonderful henchman (one of the best in the series?) - although his scene is short, it is very memorable - also, Bond's killing of Kaufman reminds me of the scene in Dr. No when Bond shoots Dent; the BMW chase in the garage; the return of Jack Wade; and the motorcycle chase in Vietnam.

More to come.

More thoughts...

If I was Harry Saltzman or Albert Broccoli, I would have searched for one good actor to play Felix Leiter and signed him to a multi-film contract.

Who's the best Felix Leiter? Jack Lord was good, but a little too grim and serious (at least when compared to the Leiter of the novels). Cec Linder looked old enough to be Bond's father. David Hedison captured some of the gregariousness of the Flemming Leiter. Jeffrey Wright is nothing like the Leiter of the novels, but still quite good.

Once again, great scenes. I totally agree on the Leiter thing. I like Hedison and Wright. But the problem with Wright is that since it's the same character as the old Felix, I have no clue how they'll explain why he's black. Still, he's great as Felix, especially in Quantum of Solace. (I love the "James, movie your a**." line.)

My preference is for the Connery era:

My Favorite Bond Film: Thunderball, since I first saw it 29 years ago.

Great choices! I also love the Connery era. Thunderball is such a great movie! (My no. 3) It's a classic. I also love the FRWL and TB Blofeld, but I also like Donald Pleasance, since the reveal of his face is such an iconic moment. I also like Fiona Volpe. She's my favorite bad Bond girl. She has such great dialog.
