Favorite Fight: Bond vs. Greene (QUANTUM OF SOLACE)

Interesting...why is this your favourite?

Several reasons. I love the Eco Hotel setting (although it was rather underused), and I like the different style that Amalric brought to the fight. We're used to seeing Bond face off against enemies that are more closely matched with him in terms of size, ability, etc., and Bond usually knows going in that he's in store for a challenge, even if he knows that he'll ultimately prevail. With Greene, he's a rather unsuspecting character in that one wouldn't expect much of a fight from him, but he sure does put up a very good fight.

I think that with Greene, we're seeing a man who knows that he's outmatched (that's my reading of it at least, as I can't imagine that he could possibly think that he is on an even playing ground with Bond in this are), but one that is very desperately trying to escape the situation (evident from the wild noises he's making as he swings the axe at Bond), and I find that more appealing than the usual types of fight scenes that we're used to seeing with the franchise.

I also love his taunting of Bond after they hear the gunshot. The one area that I will say I think that Forster dropped the ball on this film was with that particular event, though (not the fight between Bond and Greene, but between Camille and Medrano). I think that they should have left the shot of Camille holding the gun pointed at Medrano out of the film, and leading us to believe that either one of them could have met their demise in that room. That would have lent some tension to Greene's taunting that ultimately wasn't there. But, the execution of everything contained within the fight scene between Greene and Bond was terrific.

I agree. It's a fantastic fight. But in QOS my favorite is Bond vs. Slate. Very realistic and brutal, especially when Bond holds Slate down as he bleeds to death.

I was just thinking...
I really love Dalton. There are some people who hate him, and I see no reason why. (BTW, there are also people who think he was the cause of the six year hiatus between LTK and GoldenEye, and think that the series might have failed because of him. All of that is untrue. The real reason for the hiatus was a barrage of lawsuits.) But, back to why I like Dalton. I think he portrayed Bond in a serious manner, which I really appreciate, considering Connery, who had jokes, was mainly serious. ( I think he was on of the best too.) I sometimes think that Moore occasionally went overbaord on his jokes, while I think Connery, Dalton, and Brosnan nicely balanced their humor with suspense and action. I really love the Dalton scene when he confronts General Pushkin. I have read that it was originally supposed to be a conversation over drinks, but they turned it into an interrogation at gunpoint. I loved the way Dalton acts during that scene and how he acts as Bond in general.

I too love Dalton, so you're not alone 007Fanatic. Infact, there is quite alot of Dalton-Love on CBn. I really do think Dalton should've done a third in 1991. Damn lawsuits. B)

If you look up 'Bond 17' on mi6.co.uk, there is quite alot of information on his third Bond film.

Here's some extra stuff: My reviews of Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace:
( I wrote these in my free time. I still have to expand on them.)

CR:
First, I have to say that this is my personal favorite Bond film, and is one of the best, if not the best Bond film. Daniel Craig as Bond is just pure awesome. He plays Bond with a harder edge, and much more brutal, but also vulnerable, and human. Eva Green plays an excellent Vesper Lynd, smart, beautiful, and tragic. Mads Millelsen is also excellent as Le Chiffre, he plays him brilliantly and has some very good scenes.
The plot is classic, the poker game is tense, the dialog sparkling, and the torture scene is very well done. The movie adds much to the book, and the fights are realistic, brutal and exciting.
This movie is a classic, and a must see.
-I love EVERYTHING Bond, but I still have favorites.

QOS:
I love this movie. I think that the action is exciting, and brutal, and Craig gives an excellent performance, as does Mathieu Amalric as Dominic Greene. The plot is good, and the supporting cast is great. It has a great title song, and I think the ending line: "I never left." was perfect.
-I love EVERYTHING Bond, but I still have favorites.

Is anyone else really warming to "007 FOREVER" as the title for BOND 23? To be directed by Joel Schumacher obviously.

I was looking through threads and I found Marcato's "those bond mysteries". It has a link to a great series of videos, which point out all the little interesting things.
Some cool ones:

http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
The bullets ricocheting in the LTK tanker chase make the JB theme!

http://www.youtube.c...feature=related
A possible Ian Fleming cameo in FRWL!

This one's rather funny. (IMO)

I found the fight between Bond and Red Grant on Youtube! (It's not the best quality video, but still the best fight in the series!)

Plus, check out this great series of videos: (Some of the best moments are wrong IMO, but it's hosted by Roger Moore!)

And, the ending to QoS. IMO, the best ending in the whole series!

Lastly, my personal favorite tribute video. (I know it's already been posted before, but I think it deserves mention.)

Not my favourite fight by a long shot, but I like your argument.

To: Nicolas Suszczyk and eddychaput:

I also love the tank chase in GoldenEye. It was very creative, and I love how it was sometimes serious, ans sometimes humorous. I acutally like the fight with Greene. It was exciting, and effective. I agree that they should have left out the shot of Camile with the gun, but it doesn't ruin it for me. B)

My Favorite Bond Film: From Russia With Love
My Favorite Bond: Sean Connery
My first Bond film was: Moonraker was my first Bond in the theater. Prior to that, saw some on TV but don't recall the very first.
My favorite gadget is: Aston Martin DB5 with modifications
My favorite villain is: Goldfinger
My favorite henchmen is: Jaws
My favorite Bond song is: Nobody Does It Better if I'm in a mellow mood & You Know My Name if I need something louder.
My favorite Bond girl is: Domino Derval
Favorite Fight: Bond vs Oddjob in the Fort Knox vault
Favorite Car: Aston Martin V12 Vanquish (the DB5 if I'm in the mood for a classic B) ).
My favorite Bond Soundtrack: Casino Royale (David Arnold)

I group the movies more into tiers similiar to a radio station song rotation. One tier is heavy rotation (watch often), the next is medium rotation, & the final is low rotation (watch the least). If I have to narrow it down to the Top 5 movies, I would currently go with these:
