Thankfully tonight's episode was a pretty big improvement since Chuck was not a whiner or overtly emotional and I think its a return to the old Chuck and I thought the increased participation of the Devin character was great.

Tonight's episode was a MASSIVE improvement over last night's double-bill. I'd even go as far as to say that "Chuck vs. the Angel de la Muerte" is right up to par with the quality of both the best episodes of Season 2 ("vs. First Date", "vs. the Cougars", "vs. the Suburbs", and "vs. the Colonel"). The only thing that I would have changed about tonight's episode would have been

I have to agree and I think there going to have to make them a couple sometime during this season. I have read reviews from critics who have seen the first 5 episodes of this season and it sounds as though that the show gets better as the season goes on.

I think that they are going to make them a couple this season too, but I would have liked to have had the season start out, regardless of their status as a couple as I really don't have any problems with them going through a rough patch after they started moving a bit too fast at the end of Season 2, with the characters acting a bit more in character. Sarah doesn't make impulse decisions like the one she made in the season premiere (and I have serious doubts as to whether she would have gone through with it after initially planning it, as she had a few weeks to realize that it was a stupid plan), and the whole planning of that scenario just felt very very awkward, as though they couldn't come up with a good way to break them up and instead decided to mash a whole bunch of different ideas they had thrown around together into one big mess.

And I'm also looking forward to Brandon Routh's debut.

American Idol - Simon Cowell is leaving the show.

I only saw the show once because I wanted to see Paula, and I thought that Simon was a curiosity. I also thought that he could have been Bond, with his wit. Time for another project, I guess. Let's wish Simon well.

The first episode of The Kids in the Hall new show "Death Comes to Town." The eight part miniseries that I created a thread for...and no one replied.

Guess I'm the only KITH fan on this board.

The Good Wife. Forget, if you can, the offputting title. Here's one of the finest dramas going today, with compelling stories and characters, ongoing suspense. One of the show's finest tricks has been the steady humanization of the Chris Noth character. Show by show, the complexity grows: he was definitely a philandering s.o.b., yet he was also set up by political rivals for his monstrous downfall. And it's beginning to look as if many of the charges against him weren't really true, or all that true. A bold trick, keeping one of the show's stars rotting away in a jail cell and appearing for minutes per show. Noth's a powerful actor, capable of maintaining his presence, regardless of whether he's on or off-screen.

I enjoyed Brain Candy and loved Dave Foley's film The Wrong Guy (not strictly KITH, but related) but the show hasn't really aired in the UK since I was too young to watch it or even be aware of it (not on any channels I get anyway), and I believe was pretty low profile here even back then so I never really got any further than that.

NCIS -> Still pretty much awesome.

Oh, yes. The spin-off NCIS:LA is earning its stripes as well, IMO. Ironically, it was the last show I watched this morning. (I watch them online.)

Non-fiction: Project Runway, because my wife likes to watch. Also this year, there are no real nasties or extravagant designers.

Fiction: Damages, the second season, with William Hurt.

I'm no Cowboys fan but man they were really disapointing against the Vikings but at least the Jets came through with the only upset.

Human Target

I liked this show a lot and thought this was a pretty good start.

Watched eps 2-4 of Castle last night. Don't know how I ever let that show go unwatched. Love it.

About to pop in An Unearthly Child, and eventually more classic Who.

I think that it's a brilliant show, and one that is incredibly well-written. I would actually say that I wish that the writers of Castle would do double-duty and take over writing for Chuck as well. They've managed to create a very well constructed romantic subplot in Castle that doesn't manage to suffocate its viewers by having the characters treat each other so badly and in such a mean-spirited way like Chuck very often does. While I watch Chuck in large part due to the relationship stuff between Chuck and Sarah (because, when given believable material, Zach Levi and Yvonne Strahovski really knock it out of the park), at times that stuff can really drag down an otherwise fun episode, and it would be fantastic to see them take a page from Castle's playbook and make all of that more believable.

As for Castle, tonight's episode looks like it may be the best of the entire series. I'm not going to go into spoilers, but it's linked to the great cliffhanger they ended Season 1 with and that was mentioned a bit at the beginning of the first episode of Season 2.

Yeah, I'm definitely not catching up by tonight's episode. Very probably will be caught up by the season finale, though. Before, most likely, but I'll be caught up for the finale at the very latest. Looking forward to actually seeing it on TV instead of playing catch-up on Megavideo.

I'm with you on that. I remember trying to catch up two whole seasons worth of Chuck on my computer screen (thanks iTunes and Hulu) in time for the Season 2 finale back in May. Having now seen the entirety of Season 2 on Blu-ray, it's a much better viewing experience to see the show on an actual television screen as opposed to a computer.

I don't know what the plans are for the show during the Olympics, but if it goes on hiatus like many other shows are planning to do, then I know that I'll be using that time to get caught up on a few shows.
