Hang on...
A View to a Kill? Blu Ray? Wha! :(

What are you referring to?

Oh, excuse me.

1) It was Octopussy.
2) I thought the advert was advertising Blu Ray's 'cause the DVD's have the same cover art in the US. They have a white scheme in the UK.

A (two-star!) review of Quantum of Solace in this month's Australian Empire confirms that the DVD will only be released here as a single-disc edition, containing just the "Another Way to Die" music video. All the goodies will be on the Blu-ray Disc, though.

Looks like I'm one step closer to waiting for the inevitable double-dip.

Wow, very critical review of the movie. The reviewer even goes off the rails about the director featurette (check it out). I think this DVD release will look great, but the movie will finally be universally panned. It doesn't hold a candle to CR and did everything wrong. Hopefully Danny Boyle will get the series back on track.

I'm only gettimg it to take advantage of the Amazon QUANTUMS promotion and then turning around and selling it sealed on e-bay. I should end up making some $$s on the deal B)

If you kept up with the news, it has been confirmed that Boyle won't be directing Bond 23.

It's a bit unfortunate, really, but if they go with in that direction, it certainly would put the new era of Bond that started with CR and came to a crashing halt with QoS back on the right path).

As for the new TV spot, am I the only one who noticed that the cover art for the Blu-ray is slightly different (simply a difference in the blu-ray banner at the top), which would suggest that the Blu-ray will (in addition to the 2 disc DVD) in a slipsleeve cover, but can anyone confirm that the North American version has a one?

Wouldn't be a surprise, as all the Blu-rays (with exception of the CR one disc release) has had a slipsleeve.

??? If you hated Forster's take on Bond, I'm pretty sure Boyle's would have you spinning like a top. A Boyle Bond would be the antithesis of a Campbell Bond, and QOS-haters would be begging for even the return of Forster.

From the DVD Times review:
Both the Theatrical Teaser Trailer (1:51) and the surprisingly different full Theatrical Trailer (2:23) are included.

Hmmm, what's with that!? A completely redesigned Theatrical Trailer.

Gotta say...that main menu looks absolutely bland to me. It reminds me of the "unoriginality," if you will, of the Quantum of Solace posters. I feel like that menu was made in about five minutes...

It's not a magnificent menu, but I do like that they at least tried to capture some of that design from the film.

I'm sorry, Mharkin007. I'm glad that the DVD is going to be released. Really, I am. But that's just my opinion about the main menu. Maybe I'm being unfair because I haven't actually seen the whole thing yet.

To add to the main menu, I really like the swirly things (whatever they're called). However, I would like to have seen the giant "eye" from the Tosca scene in the background. For me, that would have looked a lot cooler...

The menu looks lightyears beyond either Casino Royale menus, which were both about as bland as you can get. I'm actually surprised, because of the actual quality in the QOS DVD.

That said, I guess I'm picking it up anyway... I loved the movie too much. B)

Ok, I'm here to give an official warning:

They WILL release a better, more comprehensive version down the road.

If you don't want to wait for the Collector's Edition that probably won't come out for another year or two, then don't be indignant this time when you realize Sony double-dipped. They are always going to do that. It's been the trend for years now. It's a guarantee.

Be ready for it. B)

JUST BUY BOTH WHEN THE FIRST ONE COMES OUT AND THEN WHEN THE COLLECTORS EDITION COMES OUT I DID THAT FOR CASINO ROYLAE AND NOW I AM UPGRADING ALL OF MY BONDS MOVIES FROM DVD TO BLU-RAY. ONE OF THESE DAYS THE BOND MOVIES WILL BE ON HOLOGRAPHIC PROJECTION AND IN TODAYS TECHNOLOGY WE COULD PROBABLY CGI SEAN CONNERY IN THE BOND FILMS AND HE COULD BE BOND AGAIN

THAT WOULD BE SWEET!

Saw the DVD & Blu-ray in EzyDVD and JB Hi-Fi today even though it's not officially released here in Oz until tomorrow. Was all set to buy the DVD at JB using a gift voucher I got for Xmas (I wouldn't spend my own money on such a basic DVD package!), but on the way to the checkout I came across the JASON KING DVD boxset marked down 50% so I bought that instead. I'll wait for the SE to come out for Quantum of Solace.
