an inflatable Olga.

:(

How about a miniature replica of the boat carrying Medrano's men, that doubles as a paperweight? The catch is that at any given moment it can inexplicably flip over and fall off your desk.

How about a snowglobe of the final scene?

Or a bottle of motor oil in the shape of Fields like those old soap things?

How about wrapping the DVD in quantities of lace.

You know you're a Bond fan when you can't wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray release of a film even if you didn't like the movie that much.

I wasn't too warm on QOS, but just for the elements I did like about it March 24th can't come fast enough!

I personally will not be purchasing the Blu-ray on March 24. I am much more excited about the Goldfinger/Moonraker/The World is not Enough Blu-ray three pack and the special edition of Never Say Never Again than Quantum of Solace.

My thoughts on the 2008 movie did soften on a second viewing but I still rank it in the bottom five of all Bond movies. It's not a movie that I have an interest in viewing a third time.

I'll buy Quantum of Solace to sit on my shelf alongside Die Another Day. :)

Oh, bring on the haters to spray their hate. Can't have any thread about QoS without them showing up. :(

"The movie sucked... but I'll buy the DVD anyway... and the Blu-Ray... and the double-dipped Deluxe 3-Disc Edition whenever that comes around."

Who's rattled your cage? Your kind of post has kept me away from here for weeks. :)

Just goofing. You have as much right to hate QoS as I have to love it. Besides, I own a copy of "Die Another Day", so I really shouldn't talk. ;) (Although it was given to me as a gift)

Nice article, Qwerty!
I actually preordered the two disc DVD a while ago! Although I didn't like Quantum of Solace, I still felt obliged to buy it. Can't wait to see some of the bonus features.
(Although, if a three disc edition is released, I'm going to be :([censored]ing --> pissed off. I already went through this with Casino Royale. Although, presumably, an Ultimate Edition of Casino Royale is coming.(I hope...)).

Fair and balanced review. Much like the reviewer, I have mixed feelings on QUANTUM, but I am looking forward to the DVD release

Which is sad given that your humorous posts Bondian are one of the few reasons I visit CBn.

I bloody hope not. I don't want any more Casino Royale DVD released, we've already had three, that's enough.

The bare bones version now with another, presumably better, version around Bond 23 was expected. Shame they always go down this path, I'd rather wait a few more months for a better release but I'm just a dreamer. :( At least they got the trailers on this disc. Now, if I can only get the Casino Royale trailers on a Bond disc versus having them scattered on other discs, I'd feel more complete. :)

It sure isn't a deterrent for those want to wait for the SE version to come out but in the mean time download the DVD rip.

Not that we condone that sort of activity here, right?

We all knew the bonus features were garbage when they announced them. Hopefully the inevitable 3-disc edition will feature far more information on the actual making of the movie than the Casino Royale deluxe had.

I actually think I might wait... I may pick this version up if the SE takes a while, but I sure as hell won't pay full price on release. Rather wait a bit.

Saw this today on the Suncoast ad, when you buy it from them there will be a free poster. All left is what will come along from Best Buy and Target when buying it from them. Hate it when we have to double dip on a dvd, just to get better more and better features for a dvd of a movie. The 2-disc probbly going to be on sale for $22.99 at Best Buy and Target, like all 2-disc are, when they first come out these days. The one disc one going to be from $14.99-$17.99 area at Best Buy and Target and $19.99 at Borders and Suncoast.

A calander might actually be better than a poster, depending on how many pictures there are, and what the size is

Forgive me, but when I first read this, I saw "colander" and wondered what the heck that had to do with a Bond film. Then I realized you meant "calendar"! :(

Both colanders and calendars are more useful than posters.

The QOS DVD has been announced on Argentina (probably also in the rest of South America)

Single disc edition only, apparently.

Just opened the iTunes Store & there is a 007 logo on the main page announcing that you can pre-order Quantum of Solace for $14.99. Looks like this brings the total Bond movies available on iTunes to eight.
