What does the third piece of the song says?

I understand:

Another girl with her finger on the world singing to you what you wanna hear
Another gun thrown down and surrendered took away your feel

Another man... ¿?

Personally I find TND to be a more interesting and original song than Surrender.

Personally, I find the opposite to be true. I find the TND song rather dreary, whereas I believe "Surrender" is the best Bond theme we never had.

I do also think that Surrender beats Tomorrow Never Dies on almost every aspect. It's more catchy and stylish.

btw, help me with the lyrics :$

I also agree. If this was the main title song it would have been a hot contender in the franchise.

When Arnold writes something good, it's very good. :(

After I heard the full song I had a mixed feelings.

First of all it sounded like a song for a 70's flick, which was kind of cool. But the song gets a bit messy after the first 2 minutes or so.

That said, I didn't like the full song on my first hearing.... but on my 2nd hearing... I effin loved it!

Now on my 3rd hearing... it's growing on me. I still say that it has this retro 70's vibe to it. :(

God, it's frustrating...

I only hope one thing:

White and Keys HAVE to record the song together for the movie. Those parts where both sing are a mess because they didn't sung it together, and White had to mix her voice with the track. Maybe for you it's easier, but for those who don't speak spy (or English) its frustrating.

And also, the last part of the song should be improved (or cut from the film version just like it happened with You know my name's 'Life is gone at just a spin of the wheel', which I liked though.)

Ok this is more like it, I'm a fan, not as good as YKMN to me, but good nonetheless. :(

Very happy with it. A lot of impressively high energy throughout, but I personally don't think Alicia Keys adds very much to the song. This song is always is going to be much more divisive than You Know My Name though - it's far less of a classic rock track, and a touch more experimental.

Sorry to say this song is not (yet) grown on me. In fact, it's starting to slide the other way for me, I'm starting to dislike it. I really wish they'd release a proper full version. I'm trying not to listen to this bootleg. But when it's all you have...

Oddly, the middle parts (except the tangent with the synth) feel almost a little lethargic to me. A bit of an empty feeling behind the vocals. I imagine the surround sound in the theater will correct for it, but I hope that they amp it up some.

At this point I'd say I like YKMN better, but I'm more than happy with what we have with AWtD.

Haha, deja vu. I remember YKMN was loathed by loads on here at first.

I loved YKMN on first listen and think this is quite good but not as great as YKMN.

Fair enough. And that hardly makes you any less of a Bond fan. Frankly, while I like this song (albeit not enough to buy it on its own, as I did with YKMN - if AWTD isn't on the soundtrack CD then I'll pass on owning it), I'm not especially blown away by the QoS trailers and found DEVIL MAY CARE a massive letdown, so sometimes you just gotta take the hits, as Rocky Balboa might say. But then I loved DIE ANOTHER DAY and CASINO ROYALE so perhaps I'm "due" a disappointing Bond flick. :(

By my ears -

Another gun thrown down and surrendered took away your fear
Another man as he stands right behind you looking in the mirror

Now that I've heard the full version, I must say it's quite a beautiful song. As a fan of Jack White his music needs to be looked at like a piece of of abstract art. This was an extremely ballsy move.

I wonder what they will do with the title sequence. I really liked the highly stylised card imagery in CR as it stood in stark contrast to the rather samey CGI writhing-oil-whores / curvacious, carcenegenic ciggy sl... ladies.

In fact I hope it's hand drawn by slaves.

I'm not sure what I think after hearing the entire thing. Uh, ya no idea... I have to listen to it a couple more time. I like Jack White... I just can't get over Ms Key's voice which does not sound like it belongs at all (why not just hire The White Stripes!). Ugh... anywho, other than that... yes very creative... I've not completely formed an opinion.

I will say this... I do think it's an interesting choice of song. I mean if you think about it the 007 movie themes have evolved with the times. And evolved with the music evolution. So this song is very pop "now," if that makes sense.

Not at all - before "You Know My Name", it was actually my fave Bond song (but I'm a big fan of Garbage).
